Kenyans on Twitter have been known to have one of the best at defending and attacking any issue that concerns them not only on Twitter but all over social media, and this year was no different.
Here are some of the most controversial Twitter moments/hashtags this year:
#SurvingMissmandi
The media personality trended in 2022 for her case of bullying an employee at her workplace.
The whole story erupted from Gitobu Koome a co-worker who responded to her tweet on accountability by saying Mandi ‘constantly terrorized him’ the entire time they worked together.
A hashtag #survivingmissmandi was created as people began to imitate a work environment where people got bullied by characters as hers.
#Muhoozi
This hashtag was created when the son(Muhoozi Kainerugaba) of Uganda's president Yoweri Museveni started attacking Kenya with his tweets saying that his military will attack Kenya in days.
Only for him to meet KOT who are known to undress anyone who comes against their nation and that's when the hashtag trended with what seemed like a fight between the two countries.
#Onaselina
Remember when actor Pascal Tokodi met the then president Uhuru Kenyatta and recorded a video?.
If you do not remember this hashtag was started when the actor met the president oh his strolls and asked him to watch his show Selina.
It is then that KOT decided to troll him for not asking for something more reasonable.
#Opaquenature
2022 was the year for the Kenyan general elections and this is when the phrase started.
The then IEBC vice chair Juliania Cherera refused to announce the results of who was the president because of 'the opaque nature of the matter'.
As expected Kenyans learned that phrase and used it since then to describe anything that seemed somewhat impossible or inexplainable.
#Forestroad #forestroad
This hashtag came to life when a bodaboda guy beat up a lady in her car and undressed her in public.
This pissed off a lot of Kenyans and hence the hashtag to seek justice for the woman.
#YoungAfricanFamous
The Netflix show was a highlight in 2022 when it was released.
It precisely became famous when Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz introduced his age in broken English.
"i am 31st" remember?
This elicited different reactions some mocking him and others saying that that was simply his second language.
