Govt spokesperson Isaac Mwaura dismisses questions about cost of President Ruto's State Visit to the US

On today's morning show Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King'ang'i discussed how the government spokesperson, Isaac Mwaura, dismissed questions about the expense of President William Ruto's maiden state visit to the United States.

Dr Isaac Mwaura, and his Deputies, Gabriel Muthuma and Mwanaisha Chidzuga paid a courtesy call to the Rift Valley Science and Technology Principal's office where they were warmly received by the deputy principal Paul Kome.

The question was raised during an interaction with students at the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology when he was there.

Mwaura said those interested in knowing the cost of the president’s trip are missing the bigger picture of the benefits the visit is likely to bring Kenya, travel costs notwithstanding.

He addressed them saying, ''Hayo maswali ni ya kipuzi kabisa, Rais ameenda kama mzee wa hii kijiji ya Kenya kututaftia alafu wewe unauliza fare ni pesa ngapi.''

He added by saying how important it is to the nation because President Ruto is the only African president summoned for the state visit.
