Anita Soina has recently made headlines with a bold message she shared on her Instagram story.

She wrote, "I don't care what anyone says. I absolutely want to be submissive and led by my man. And there is no part of me that wants to take on that masculine role," she stated.

Anita is a passionate Kenyan environmentalist and a water and climate change advocate from the Maasai community.

She is the author of the book Green War, where she shares her journey, challenges, and future plans to combat environmental degradation.

She is also the founder of 'The Soina Foundation,' a climate and environmental organization for Kenya and Tanzania.

The foundation aims to uplift historically marginalized and underrepresented populations by addressing social issues such as sexual reproductive health education, gender-based violence, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and education in rural communities.

Before the Kenyan elections of August 2022, Soina announced her candidacy for GTAP. At 21 years old, she was the youngest candidate running for a parliamentary seat in Kajiado North.

Initially, she joined the UDA political party but left on March 24, 2022, to join the Green Thinking Action Party (GTAP) led by Isaac Kalua to vie for the same position.

Anita is the new 2023-2024 Global Youth Champion for UN-hosted partnerships on Sanitation and Water for All (SWA). She is also part of the communications team for 'We Don't Have Time.'

Before fully engaging in conservation, Anita Soina worked as a digital and artist manager at EMB Records, Seven Haven Music, and Shirko Media.

She also served as a digital manager and brand ambassador at Lake Basin Dental and Orthodontics Centre.

Her work has earned her nominations to represent at various conferences such as COP 26 in the UK, UNEA 5, Stockholm+50 in Sweden, the Sustainable Energy for All Forum in Rwanda, and COP 27, among others.

In addition to her other roles, Anita Soina is the new 2023-2024 Global Youth Champion for Sanitation and Water for All (SWA).
