Kate Actress tells Churchill why Phil Karanja didn't like her in the beginning

Kenyans were shocked to learn that Kate Actress and Phil Karanja, one of Kenya's most admired couples, were divorcing.

The public has been encouraged by this to revisit old videos that may include information that sheds further light on the ex-couple.

One of those popular videos is a chat she had with Churchill Ndambuki on Nation TV in December 2021 during which she discussed how the two had first met.

"Funnily enough we never used to like each other."

"Why?" Churchill quickly asked. "He thought I was too much. The ah-ah too much! He knew I was talented but alikuwa anashangaa...yaani huyu dame! Aubuhi tukona hangover. Sina lines na ni yeye anadirect. Anashindwa these guys (me and my cousin) what is their problem?"

"That is Nyambura on the show?" Churchill inquires about the cousin. "Yes, Tina on the show. So alikuwa anashindwa like these two...they are not seriously like this."

Before adding,

"Kama ungemwambia that this will be you wife...Ahhhh angekata! So heri ikae, lakini alianza kunidirect."

On September 19, the two released a joint statement in which they declared their separation.

The couple wed in 2017 at the Windsor Hotel in a white wedding, and they spent their honeymoon in the Seychelles.

They had one kid together during their six-year marriage, which was unquestionably one of the couples that inspired and was admired by many.

Even though internet users assumed that the two had broken up early this year, they kept their private lives private. However, they dispelled the rumours in a video they posted jointly.
