A police team is in pursuit of a truck that struck and fatally wounded renowned Kenyan Tiktoker Brian Chira Wambui. Chira met his demise in a hit-and-run accident in Karuri, Kiambu County.

"The accident happened in the night and for now efforts are ongoing to get the vehicle behind the same. No arrest has been made so far," Kiambaa sub-county police commander Pius Mwanthi stated.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on the Ndenderu-Ruaka Road in Kiambu County around 3 am on Saturday. The white speeding lorry that hit the influential social media personality failed to stop at the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted on the body as part of the accident investigation before further steps are taken in the case. Additionally, authorities will visit locations Chira frequented before the accident occurred.

"The driver behind this should also come forward and report the matter to help in the probe," Mwanthi urged.

There are also ongoing investigations into allegations that Chira may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident in the Gacharage area.

Chira was being transported home by his friend on a motorbike when the tragedy unfolded. His friend encountered Chira outside a club in the area after he was ejected by security guards for allegedly causing a disturbance.

"His body was taken to the City Mortuary pending an autopsy," authorities confirmed.

Witnesses claimed Chira was intoxicated and disorderly. As the club was preparing to close and Chira was left alone, a friend familiar with him offered to escort him to his residence in the area.

Upon reaching the Gacharage roundabout, Chira reportedly dismounted the motorbike and fled to the main road, where he was struck by the speeding lorry and fatally injured on the spot.

According to the rider, both he and the deceased initially traveled along the service lane towards Ruaka but veered towards Ndenderu on the wrong side. When they reached the accident site, Chira disembarked and ran to the main road.

The rider, noting Chira's inebriated state, attempted to reach him, but before he could do so, Chira was struck by a white canter, which did not stop.

Chira's family members and friends visited the mortuary to identify his body, which sustained severe head injuries. They appealed for financial assistance from well-wishers to facilitate his burial.
