Following a raid on a compound in Juja, Kiambu County, detectives detained four people who were connected to the kidnapping and carjacking of two dealers.

Later, during a parade held at the Juja police station, the four were positively identified as the ones responsible for the play.

They had already made their way out of the Kahawa Wendani area after the carjacking incident where the vehicle had been destroyed.

The gang had previously deceived the dealers and had been incarcerated in the Juja home since Friday, December 1.

The victims were then instructed to phone their family members and request that they send a ransom of Sh2.5 million to be freed.

The victims said that as they were delivering the four-wheel drive vehicle to the facility, they were attacked.

After seizing control of the vehicle, three men riding a motorbike arrived and imprisoned the two inside the residence.

They were strapped into the same four-wheel drive vehicle on Monday and taken to a bank located in Juja Town.

At that moment, the driver struck another vehicle and took off, starting a thrilling pursuit.

Following an altercation with the online taxi driver demanding payment for a hit-and-run, the assailants abandoned the Prado at Kahawa Wendani on Thika Road.

According to witnesses, the men started shooting on Monday when the Prado went off the road and struck a guard barrier.

Earlier, the car struck a cab that was parked on the side of the road in Juja while it was travelling at a high pace on the highway.

After that, the driver took off, but not before haggling with the cab driver about how to make up for the harm he had caused.

Driven by resentment over the situation and his perceived conceit, the taxi driver pursued the Prado on the highway from Juja to Kahawa Wendani.

The taxi driver did not cooperate and instead continued to endanger his life during the pursuit, despite the vehicle's occupants launching themselves into the air to frighten him away.

According to the taxi driver, he heard someone inside the Prado yelling for assistance.

The carjacked victims, who were two in number, had their lips bound with cello tape and were kept captive in the boot of the vehicle.

Two men and a woman with weapons emerged from the car after it crashed into a rail and were trapped there.

They left the scene on a motorbike. Then, before they seized its burden and rode off, they ordered him to leave at gunpoint.

“They drew their weapons and forced the bodaboda rider to scamper for safety, before the taxi driver could zero down on them, stranded on the highway,” a witness said.

When locals arrived at the Prado, they discovered the two men inside, bound and gagged.

The victims' families posted a request online stating that they believed two car salespeople who were bringing the vehicle to a client had been abducted and carjacked.

Before police arrived, the residents had already released them from the boot.

Prado and his two companions were reported missing by the vehicle dealer who sent them.

The businessman claims that the two guys vanished on Friday after taking the Land Cruiser to a prospective customer for inspection.
