Dan Sonko was already dating someone else-actress Winnie Bwire

Winnie Bwire, the popular actress in the Sultana series has talked on her marriage to fellow creative Dan Sonko.

Sonko lost his wife DRu a few years ago leaving behind two sons. Bwire says some people automatically assumed she nyemelead Sonko.

The truth is that he had dated other people after his wife's death before he and Bwire started dating. Speaking during an interview with Cheptoek Boyo, Bwire shared;

"I did not know Dru, I met Dan through a film we had been cast together. Before Dan met Drew we were already working together. His wife was my friend through extension. I only met her twice."

Bwire says after the death of his wife Dan was quick to jump into relationships and that did not work well for him.

"Dan has had three different relationships before me, But I am the one who bears the cross for apparently thirsting on him.

He was in a relationship that wasn't working so I would advise him on things he can do to salvage the relationship. We became so close but we were not dating as he was still with someone else."

The couple at some point started dating and are now happily married through a traditional wedding. How is the experience being a step-mum.

"Motherhood has made me patient. It has given me character development. I had to learn how to co-exist and address the issues that crop up. What helped was that the kids were already my friends. So far so good."
