2022 was certainly a year that left us both exhilarted with joy and also very sad for the unfortunate things that happend in the same year.
Regardless of how you choose to describe your 2022, it certainly did not luck its ups and downs.
Here are some things that happened and shocked us in 2022:
The legendary slap from Will Smith to Chris Rock
During the 94th Academy Awards, actor Will Smith walked on stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock right on his face when presenting the Best Documentary feature award.
Presiding the slap was Chris rock's ill comment on Will Smith's sick with Jada Pinket.
His famous words would later come to be the most famous the following week all over the world.
A very angry Will Smith went something like this:
"keep my wife out of your mouth"
The mysterious shooting of Pakistani journalist
A re-known Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif was killed in Kenya this year 2022.
The journalist was shot dead in Kajiado after being involved in a race with the local police.
Arshad was a passenger in the car that was sprayed with bullets taking his life after fatally getting hit by most of the bullets.
This news caught up globally as the journalist was big in his country and was on the run from alleged harassment.
There were talks involved with the leaders of the two countries that is Kenya's president William Ruto and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Investigations into the case are still ongoing with the latest update being that it was a planned assassination.
Russia invaded Ukraine
Russia Invaded Ukraine in February up to date they are still striking the country.
The president of Russia Putin declared war on Ukraine to capture the land in an ongoing feud that started in 2014.
This war has escalated to levels that have forced intervention from the US government.
The death of Queen Elizabeth II
The Queen of England Queen Elizabeth II died this year 2022.
Her death came as a shock to the whole world and especially to the British people as she had been in power for over 70 years making her reign the longest in British monarch history.
She was immediately succeeded by her son King Charles III at 73 years.
The death of Baby Travis Maina
Baby Travis died this year after his sibling allegedly lodged a fork jembe into his skull.
The case was first taken to Kenyata hospital where the baby succumbed to death.
However, there are allegations following the incident that the baby was not harmed while playing but following a fight between the parents.
