Radio personalities Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i have given a funny analysis of people who are staying in Nairobi and those living in the city during the famous Kasheshe segment.
According to Mwalimu, anybody in Nairobi who still reports to a caretaker and pays his/her rent in Kenyan shillings should consider himself/herself as someone who stays in Nairobi.
He went on to state that people who live in Nairobi usually pay their rent in US dollars and their water supply has no interruptions
“Watu waache kusema wanaishi Nairobi. There is living and staying in Nairobi. Kama Nyumba yako hulipishwi na dollors… you know in Westland’s nyumba na US dollars starting from 80 dollars and above.
“Kama unadeal na caretaker wewe ni Mkaaji wa Nairobi. Mishii wa Nairobi. Caretaker ndo anajua ile siku atafungulia maji on a Wednesday. Wewe you don’t live in Nairobi, you just staying,” the duo narrated.
The topic left many in stitches as they tried to analyze if they stayed or lived in Nairobi.
