Radio personality Maina Kageni and co-host Mwalim King'ang'i have asked listeners to voice their views on the new proposed taxes.

"I feel so bad for parents because of the new proposed taxes, kuna school fees, food, shopping. But where will the government get money? What do you expect the president to do?" Asked Maina

Mwalim King'ang'i added "Kenyans are already battling high taxes and generally high cost of living. What is hurting you the most as a Kenyan?"

A caller said;

"I have worked for 23 years and my salary has never even been 100K. If I don't want a house, leave me alone. They should not force us. I feel sick. Where is the money gonna come from when the tax is high? Where will a 17K salaried person get the money for food, and school fees, if they are deducting all that tax."

Content creators will also be subject to a 15% withholding tax rate.
