Police in Kakamega county are investigating a strange case where a woman who was reported missing a few months ago was found buried in her neighbor's compound.

According to a report on Citizen TV, the incident was reported to have happened in the Ikolomani constituency of Kakamega county where the body was found by a man who was digging soil for use in his new house before finding the body.

Fabian Muteshi, a resident of Kitengela traveled to his home in Ikolomani for the construction of his house, in the process of digging sand, he reached the remains of a person's body which was thought to be that of the woman who was reported missing.

"I was harvesting clay for my new house that I am building, then I found a human skull with other parts of the body. I have never been so afraid," Muteshi told the Citizen.

A family came forward and identified the body as that of their beloved Rosa Kamoya, 37 years old who was reported missing from home in controversial ways in September last year.

The deceased's father said that his daughter disappeared last year with her two sisters in a neighboring village and since that day efforts to find her have been in vain for more than 7 months now.

The body was exhumed from there and taken to Kakamega hospital pending a further autopsy.
