Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau aka Kate actress and Comedian Njugush have joined other Kenyans in mourning Geoffrey ‘Jeff’ Mwathi – the young interior designer who dies at DJ Fatxo’s house.
On Saturday, March 11, 2023, Kate actress confessed that she has been trying to find the right words to mourn Jeff.
Kate eulogized Jeff as an ambitious young man.
“Been trying to find the right words 💔 . As a mother, Watching videos of the young ambitious Jeff has broken my heart into pieces,".
She also expressed her deepest condolence to Jeff’s family and friends saying Justice must be served in the young man’s sudden demise.
“ The love he and his mom shared, how proud she was of him. I am so sorry Jeff, mama Jeff my deepest condolences, no one deserves to bury their child. Jeff, we will SAY YOUR NAME until Justice is served, Your family deserves to know the truth. Rest son, we will fight for you. I AM SO SORRY JEFF💔 #JusticeforJeff,” Shared Kate actress.
Comedian Njugush also put up a post that says; “#JusticeforJeff; Justice be our shield and defender,".
For the better part of this week, the hashtag #JusticeforJeff has been trending on Twitter with Kenyans calling on authorities to look into the murder of Jeff Mwathi.
Sauti Sol said; “No parent should ever have to bury their child 💔 #JusticeForJeff,”.
Activist Boniface Mwangi wrote; “Kenyans on Social media, you’re very important people. The government follows you. When you raise your voice about injustice, they act. Kasarani officers were compromised but now they have to investigate the homicide properly. #JusticeForJeff wouldn’t have happened without you,”.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki also instructed DCI Mohamed Amin to investigate the interior designer's death.
“I thank the DCI for his quick action on this matter. The homicide team from the DCI headquarters is dispassionate, and this will help resolve the claims of collusion at Kasarani Police Station where the matter was reported,” he said.
It is alleged that Mwathi fell from the 10th floor of Redwood Apartments along Thika Road where Mugithi singer DJ Fatxo lives.
