PLO Lumbumba reacts to TZ banning Kiswahili in schools

Tanzanian secondary schools will now use English as their compulsory medium of instruction.

Before, the schools were taught the queen's language as an optional language.

Well, former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission in Kenya, PLO Lumumba is not pleased with this decision.

He took to twitter to air his opinion;

"Dear Tanzanians,tell me this is not true."

He accompanied the post with a screengrab of a DW Africa article.

Assistant Director for Secondary Education in the President's Office In Tanzanian Benjamin Oganga explained;

"We have banned the use of Swahili in all our secondary schools. We need to ensure our students understand and are able to use English in accordance with the policies of education."

Before January 9th, 2023,the Tanzanian syllabus is predominantly in the Swahili language where even subjects such as Physics, Biology and Chemistry are taught in the language.
