Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has asked Kenyans not to associate comedian Jasper Muthomi aka MC Jessy with the LGBT community.

On Tuesday, Jessy who ran for the Imenti South parliamentary seat in the August election last year raised a lot of questions after he posted a picture of himself wearing a skirt on him social media pages.

In the picture, the Churchill Show comedian was also carrying a small waist bag that is usually carried by women. "Those of you who know a lot, what is this bag for?" he asked on Instagram.

Hundreds of netizens expressed different opinions, some of them ridiculed his style of dressing, others praised it while others criticized the experienced comedian for, "Wearing women's clothes."

Some netizens also associated him with the same-sex community which has been in the spotlight in recent days following the brutal killing of the community's defender, Edwin Chiloba.

MP Barasa, however, has said that the clothes that Jessy was wearing are traditional in Scotland for men.

"This style of clothing is a traditional clothing style in Scotland for men. It is worn during important days similar to service day in Kenya," he said via Facebook.

Barasa further emphasized that the comedian who had ambitions to run for parliament on the UDA ticket is not gay.

"I can confirm that MC Jessy (Jessy Jasper) is not a member of LQBTQ or what is it called ... the one that turns each other," he said and attached his message to a photo of the comedian wearing a skirt.
