Sol Fest 2022 is nigh and for all intents and purposes it is going to be a massive affair. Sauti Sol have pieced together an epic cast of local artists to support them tomorrow, in hopes of putting on the biggest and best show ever.
The mission of the quartet has always been to build a bigger platform for Kenya artists, and through multiple projects over the years they’ve made great strides in shinning a light on Kenya’s music scene.
However, Sol Fest 2022 D.O.P.E edition is different because it’s a showcase of artists that align with the Sol Generation’s core values – Discipline, Order, Passion and Excellence.
In a recent interview, Sauti Sol member and festival founder Bien explained, “Every single artist or group in this line-up has put in the work and is doing their part in establishing Kenya’s music scene as a powerhouse. We gotta support and give credit to artist where credit is due.”
Sol Fest’s Class of 2022 has been recruited with purpose, intentionally packed with some of Kenya’s most successful and up-and-coming artists. But more importantly, these musicians are the epitome of D.O.P.E.
Sol Generation’s GM William Nanjero says, “Every artist in our line-up has shown they’ve got what it takes to survive and thrive in this music scene that is hard to navigate for so many reasons. We are excited to give these musicians and our partners a chance to show how dope they are.”
Sol Fest revellers have been blessed with an epic line-up, including Nviiri The Storyteller, Bensoul, Octopizzo, Buruklyn Boys, Fena, Nadia Mukami, Brandy Maina, and Charisma. Not to mention D.O.P.E international acts Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Harmonize, and South African rapper Costa Titch.
