Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino, the Embakasi East Member of Parliament said he would have been a cabinet secretary if Azimio la Umoja won the elections.

"Sometimes I wake in the middle of the night and ask myself what really happened. I would be serving Kenyans as CS for Interior or Education if Raila won elections," he said.

Babu was speaking during an interview on NTV in a feature dubbed 'Why Raila lost.'

After the elections, the parliamentarian started to make announcements via his social media handles on what he would do or not do if he became head of the education ministry.

However, shock hit the Azimio camp after UDA's William Ruto emerged as the winner.

In the results announced by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, Ruto garnered 7,176,141 votes, defeating Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga who had 6,942,930 votes.

Of the 47 counties, Ruto garnered more than 25 per cent of the votes cast in 39, exceeding the minimum 24 counties required by the Constitution. Raila achieved 25 per cent of the votes cast in 34 counties.

After it was known that Azimio would be the minority in Parliament, Babu set his eyes on the PAC chairman.

However, the committee was given to former Minority leader John Mbadi.

Going further the second term MP blamed Jubilee party and its party leader for Azimio's downfall.

Babu alleged that  there was no 'ugly' fallout between Uhuru and Ruto as it was portrayed.

'What reason do the two have to fallout. Ruto has been having Uhuru's back since 2002 and the even went to Hague together ,"he explained.
