Owen Mwatia better known as Daddy Owen is known as one of the most celebrated gospel artists in East Africa and his work over the years has indeed spoken for him.
The Vanity hitmaker is also the founder of Beats & Blessings Family and Malaika Awards and won the Groove Awards as Male Artist Of The Year from 2009 to 2011, with his biggest win being at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2010.
Daddy Owen exited the singles club on 2nd April 2016 when he got hitched to the love of his life, Farida Wambui at a colourful wedding ceremony at KAG church Buruburu, as they exchanged their vows in the presence of their family and close friends.
Away from all the limelight and fame, Daddy Owen, 32, is a humble man who likes to keep his private life off the public radar and is also involved with charity work and mentoring young people who would like to pursue music.
But it looks like Owen has another talent that many of his fans don’t know about, a footballer. The Mbona singer revealed that he loves playing football and even shared a photo while on the playing field in a jersey, which is also part of his workout plan.
He also joked about his joining Arsenal football team with this caption: “Wacha niingie zoezi.. naskia Arsenal are looking for a new striker.. can someone please call Arsene Wenger.. anyone?”
