The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has today issued an arrest warrant for the fomer manager of child star Wendy Waeni. Joseph Mwangi Nduta alias Joe is wanted by authorities in connection with forgery and issuing threats to the child star’s manager Magdalene Mbele.
“Mr Joseph Mwangi NDUTA alias Joe whose photos appear below is #Wanted by @DCI_Kenya Detectives in connection with the Forgery of a Letter purporting to be from a Cabinet Secretary threatening the complainant- Magdalene Mbele of some consequences,” the DCI tweeted.
KOT had been calling for the arrest of Mwangi after Wendys interview with Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange two weeks ago in which she said she has never received money despite touring the world with Mwangi.
” I have performed all over the world but I’ve never gotten a penny from it and that is because of my previous manager,” Wendy said during the Wednesday interview.
The girl said she lives in a single room with her mother in Nairobi’s Huruma estate. Wendy is a gymnast and Unicef Ambassador and has performed for Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Paul Kagame of Rwanda. Wendy said her mother sells sweets and cigarettes late at night to raise money to pay rent.
While speaking on the Chipukeezy show on Ebru TV after the allegations came out, Joe clarified that the only trip he accompanied Wendy for was to Rwanda following an invite from President Paul Kagame.
He further dismissed Wendy’s claims that she has not received a penny from her performances, posing “which parent in this world will allow his/her kid to be misused for not 1 month, not 1 year, but 5yrs?”
