Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula and Otile Brown may not be friends but they sure have one thing in common with their childhood.
Both their mothers sold alcohol to make ends meet.
Wetangula recently disclosed the person that he owes his massive success to. That person is his 90-year-old mother.
He revealed this information on his Twitter page writing:
My mother brewed busaa and distilled chang’aa to see us through school. Having stopped school at std 2, she dutifully checked our report cards to see what position you got and punished poor performance. At 90, she remains the icon of my life. Happy women’s day!!
In the past Otile Brown also narrated how his late mum used to sell changaa to support them.
In a past interview with Daily Nation sometime back, the singer confessed how losing his mum affected his life.
“Appreciate and love your mama…feeling kinda emotional tonight. Wish she could be here so I can spoil her.
My mom died when I was about to turn 13. I don’t like talking about it but I don’t shy away from speaking about it because I know it could motivate someone.
Sometimes when I would get caught, the officers would frog march me past the school compound where other children would see me. It was embarrassing didn’t like doing it but I had to survive,”
