Afrobeats, Rhumba and Amapiano ranked the top most popular genres in Africa

According to WorldMusicRankings.Com, Afrobeats has been recognized as Africa’s most popular and most listened-to music genre. It’s followed closely by Rhumba and Amapiano.

 Afrobeats, originally from West Africa (particularly Nigeria), has consistently grown over the last two decades to become the ultimate continental sound.

These three genres have also given rise to some of Africa’s biggest music stars. Notably, artists like Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema have broken records by selling out global venues with capacities exceeding 60,000. 

"Afrobeats artists, including Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema, have broken incredible records in selling out global venues of over 60,000 capacities. Ferre Gola has performed to a 100,000-person crowd in one single concert. Fally Ipupa and Koffi Olomide have sold out shows with at least 50,000 attendees," reads part of the report.
