On June 25th, 2024, different business people suffered huge losses after a section of protesters of the Anti-finance bill looted their businesses.

Several supermarkets, shops, and hotels were looted from Nairobi to Nyeri, and Nakuru to Bungoma.

During the protests, several properties were also destroyed. A few houses and businesses belonging to leaders who were in support of the Finance bill were vandalized.

Anti-tax protesters in Eldoret vandalized and looted Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi’s newly launched club XO in Eldoret.

The club was officially opened a few weeks ago during a ceremony attended by Sudi and several other MPs.

They stormed and destroyed glass walls, windows and doors, gained entry into the club, and took off with some items.

While expressing their outrage, protestors also burnt down cars belonging to the government outside the parliament building.

Kikuyu residents were also filled with rage as they headed to Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung'wa's home.

They stormed and set ablaze his constituency office.

Footage showed the office engulfed in thick, black smoke as residents pelted stones at the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) buildings.

The protestors accused him of betraying them by supporting the Finance Bill and voting yes.

In a similar incident, Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi's office was razed by residents on Tuesday noon. They also accused him of voting in favour of the Finance Bill.

In Molo, protesters vandalized the home of their MP, Kuria Kimani for voting yes to the contentious bill.

Furious demonstrators breached the perimeter wall surrounding the multi-million house, burnt and destroyed cars even as others looted the house of valuables.

In Nairobi, protestors managed to destroy several government offices and properties.

They were seen burning down one of the police vehicles, an MP car, and another government car outside the City Hall, the Governor's office.

Parliament

Protestors overwhelmed the police guarding parliament and managed to gain access. 

They set a section of parliament on fire, broke its windows, furniture, and utensils, some parts put down into shambles, and other items stolen.

The County Assembly of Machakos was also set  ablaze on Tuesday. In Nyeri a supermarket associated with their MP was also looted before being burnt by protesters.
