The public viewing of Fidel Odinga’s body is ongoing amid tight security at Lee Funeral Home. Cord leader Raila Odinga and other family members viewed the body then left for their home in Karen.
Nairobi Police Commander Benson Kabue, terming the mourners’ security a top priority, said his team will keep guard until the viewing ends. Speaking at a press briefing in Karen, Kabue further warned ODM’s ‘men in black’ against causing any disruptions.
“There will be no traffic inconvenience for Nairobians today during the viewing of Fidel’s body and the requiem mass on Thursday,” he also assured.
Relatives, friends and politicians thronged Raila’s home to offer their condolences on Wednesday morning. The requiem mass will be held at All Saints Cathedral and the burial in Bondo on Saturday.
