A social media war that was once in house regarding the Ugandan presidential social media account has now turned public and has included the president himself. The bone of contention happens to be between his Facebook account and Twitter handle.
The accounts which were initially handled by Ms. Sarah Kagingo, the special presidential assistant for communication have allegedly been taken over by Ms. Linda Nabusayi, the deputy presidential press secretary.
Ms Kagingo has been running the president’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
However, presidential press secretary Tamale Mirundi said on Tuesday that “Recently, changes were made at State House and everybody was informed of the changes.” The responsibility of is no longer under Ms. Kagingo.
This was after allegations that the account had been hacked and that posts were from an unknown person. A tweet from the president’s account also showed that Ms. Kagingo was “fired” and also added that the president who is away will deal with her once he comes back to the country.
