the late Wangari Maathai has been named in Marie Claire’s magazine among the list of 100 most inspiring women in the last 100 years.
The popular environmentalist joins the likes of former US first Lady Michelle Obama, Tv personality Oprah Winfrey, musician Beyonce and Tennis star Serena Williams and the Kardashians (yes even socialites make it onto the list).
Marie Claire has compiled a list of the 100 most inspirational women from the last century. From Emmeline Pankhurst to Pink, these are the women who have challenged, shaped and smashed the status quo.
