“I got this when I lost my job” Terryanne Chebet narrates

Terryanne Chebet is one of the wholesome celebrities in the Kenyan media space. But the mother of 2 still has some surprises up her sleeve, as she proved in a recent post on her social media page-Tattoos.

Terryanne revealed that the reason she got her wrist tattoo was that she had just lost her job. The media personality revealed that she got the tattoo in November 2016.

“Inked this in Nov 2016. My 3rd one. Marked new beginnings after I lost my job. An Arrow with a lotus flower that got edited out because I was actually showing you my nails which I love 💘… ( it’s on my IG stories though) Would you ink if you haven’t? What would it be? Would it have a meaning?,” captioned Terryanne.

The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.

For those who don’t know or remember, Terryanne was fired from Citizen TV in 2016. In revelations she made, afterward, she described it as one of the lowest and most difficult moments in her journalism career.

Speaking to NTV’s Grace Msalame, Terryanne mentioned that she did not see her layoff coming because she was not under-performing in her job.

“It was very hard in the beginning, just hearing the news crashed me because it is one thing when you lose your job but it’s another thing when you lose your job so publicly and such a public job. So even when there was an announcement that they will be redundancy, I never imagined it could be me. So when it happened I did not know what to do. I called my friend and I was crying, then I went home, locked myself in a room.”
