Difficult giving away my daughter to Nigerians-Ruto’s says in wedding speech

Deputy President William Ruto revealed that letting go of one’s daughter is not an easy thing. More so, giving her away to someone who lives miles away is that much harder.

His first-born daughter June Ruto got married to Nigerian lawyer and professor Dr. Alexander Ezenagu yesterday in a posh garden wedding in Karen.

Speaking at the after-party, Ruto said, “It is not easy as a parent giving away your daughter. It is that much difficult when you are giving your daughter away to Nigerians.”

He continued, “It is even much more difficult when you are giving your daughter to Igbos.”

Ruto narrated the first time he met Dr. Alexander Ezenagu and what he told him. “When I first met Alex, I told him a story of a notorious guy called chinedu who gave us a lot of trouble.”

Promise Uhuru Kenyatta gave to June Ruto for missing her wedding

Controversial Nigerian businessman Anthony Chinedu came into the limelight when he was arrested in his house with 10 grammes of heroin that he is believed to have either been using or intended to traffic.

Promise Uhuru Kenyatta gave to June Ruto for missing her wedding

Yesterday was the wedding of Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter, June. The plush ceremony was held in Karen and was attended by the high and mighty in Kenya’s political landscape.

But there was one notable absentee, President Uhuru Kenyatta. Many noted the curious absence of the head of state at the celebration of his second in command’s daughter.

The obvious speculation was that the two leaders have been having a long-simmering war that has played out among their ranks in the Jubilee party.

“Imagine President Uhuru missing June Ruto’s wedding because of politics. Congratulations June, you made a stunning bride. Joy and Happiness and will have an address in your home,” commented Nairobi politician Karen Nyamu.

But that isn’t the case. In a personal message to Ruto, President Kenyatta promised to visit the family and the newlyweds after the Madaraka Day celebrations.

“Pongezi tena…you’ll tell them, right? Pongezi sana, nitawaona labda nikitoka huko Kisumu,” the Head of State told his deputy.

They both left Parliament Buildings after the National Prayer Breakfast headed to Karen but as Ruto went to his home along Koitobos Road, Uhuru was presiding over a graduation ceremony at the National Defence College.

12km away from the wedding venue, President Kenyatta awarded a charter to the National Defence College as a fully-fledged university.

The bride wore an off white column and sheath wedding dress at the glamorous wedding with the groom wearing a blue suit and matching bowtie while DP Ruto rocked a black suit with a white shirt and black bowtie and his wife Rachel donned a pink dress.

Deputy President William Ruto might have his political detractors and critics but that doesn’t mean most can’t agree that the man is very charismatic.

And he knows how to blend in to fit in with whatever crowd he is working at the time. This past weekend, Mr. Ruto cast away his political rhetoric to engage his paternal side as the father of the bride at his daughter June’s engagement party.

William Ruto’s daughter gets engaged to Nigerian man in a colorful ceremony

On Saturday May 8th, Deputy President William Ruto was a proud and happy man after his daughter June got engaged to a Nigerian man at a colourful ceremony held at their Karen mansion.

The beautiful event was graced with a Nigerian contingent that wore white agbada which saw June and Alex Ezenagu’s families pledge to cement the union for eternity.

In another photo, Ruto could be seen sitting next to his daughter with the two looking like they were having a blast. Interesting thing is that this engagement has happened a few months after the politician encouraged his daughter, June, who serves as Kenya’s Charge D’Affaires in Poland, to get married.

Ruto was speaking in November 2020 during the dowry negotiations ceremony for Nakuru senator Susan Kihika. During the event, the DP also urged communications strategist Dennis Itumbi to get married.

“Now that we have finished with our friends Sam and Susan, there is this boy called Dennis Itumbi. We also have June. They are our next candidates, and they are good people. So we are ready to come back for more suitors here in Laikipia in future,” he said.

Kenyans have had a mixed reaction online with the sticking point for many men being unhappy with Kenyan women crossing borders to go for Nigerian men.

Don’t forget that musician Emmy Kosgei, who is another Kalenjin woman like June also got married to Nigerian preacher Anselm Madubuko.

Karen Nyamu reveals she was preggers when she took famous photo with Ruto and Samidoh

Long live Karen Nyamu! I say that tongue in cheek cause this lady keeps on surprising me with her level of chutzpah knowing no bounds.

Most women who have been mistresses would hide and wallow in their shame but not Nyamu. In fact, she seems to glory in it.

The mother of two recently revealed that she had had a baby with popular Mugithi singer, Samidoh. Nyamu didn’t care that the man was married and posted a video of Samidoh playing with their son.

The backlash came hard and fast with both apologizing for their behaviour. While the Kikuyu singer has tried to reestablish the image of a loving and loyal hubbie to his wife, Edday, Nyamu herself has reveled in throwing subliminal hints(and disses) at her enemies using her popular social media page.

In them, the lawyer-turned politician seems to be rubbing in the fact that she was Samidoh’s mistress and there was nothing they could do about it.

Yesterday’s post by the mother of two encapsulated this with Nyamu sharing a TBT she took with both Samidoh and Ruto when she was heavily pregnant.

She reminded her fans the photo was taken during their visit to the hustler’s mansion in Karen, where they had gone to visit the country’s number two. Her caption read;

”Throwback Thursday with baba SM jr and hustler 1 DP William S Ruto. The hustler narrative proposes a bottom-up approach that starts from the realities on the ground to design solutions adapted to needs, from the most local to the most global. And not the other way around. PS – I was very preggers here. Nakaa kangurue ka cute,” Karen captioned.

Her post attracted the attention of her online fans and critics alike who thronged the comments section with some insisting that the relationship with the singer was not over despite their claims to the contrary.

Speaking on Bonga na Jalas, DP Ruto disclosed this information after being asked to name his favorite artiste and favorite food.

“What is your favorite song…Najua haupendi reggae” said Jalang’o hilariously alluding to the recent BBI political debate.

DP Ruto replied, “My Best Artiste ni Solomon Mkubwa (Mungu mwenye Nguvu) …and favorite food is nyama choma and Mahindi Choma pia hapo niko kabisa.”

Ruto also touched on the things that he misses doing by virtue of not being a private citizen anymore, saying that window-shopping was at the top of his list.

“Window-shopping- hii window shopping unajua pale tu hii kuangalia, iko kitu fulani pale, kuna new style hapo ya viatu, sijui nini pale. Hiyo window shopping ni kazi mzuri sana lakini sai haiwezekani. Watu wengi watazusha ama itabidii nivae miwani na sijui ni hapo.”

Mr. Ruto’s advice to the youth was for them to be patient and persevere saying that life was full of ups and down’s. “Maisha ni panda shuka, tia bidi, pole pole utafika, na vijana muache presha nyingi bana, stress itawamaliza,” he finished off.

‘I made him wait!’ William Ruto’s wife says about his marriage proposal

William Ruto and his wife have one of the most fascinating relationships among the political elite, only comparable to that of the Raila’s and the Uhuru’s.

As with many leaders, mythos and legend surround the courtship process among these people that many adore and respect.

The deputy president, William and his wife have been married for close to 30 years with Ruto marrying Rachel Chebet in 1991.

Their romance didn’t start on solid ground as Rachel wasn’t so sure that William was the right man.

In a 2014 interview on Woman Without Limits, Rachel told Kathy Kiuna that she knew DP William Ruto from when they were children – but she wasn’t romantically involved with him until they got to campus.

I would see him in the youth camps and he was active in the youth choir and in acting in the church as well.

Rachel disclosed that it was when she joined campus that she started dating Ruto. The DP was then studying at the University of Nairobi as she pursued her teaching practice in Eldoret. While praying for a husband she received the two name-William Ruto from God.

The next after the divine revelation her future husband travelled to Eldoret with the intention of getting her to marry him. She told Kathy,

He didn’t beat around the bush. He asked me the question.

But she still didn’t acquiesce to Ruto’s proposal despite the revelation. She told Kathy that she still needed to pray more about it,

As much as in the previous night, God had assured me of the man I was going to marry, I told him (Ruto) ‘I’ll pray about it and get back to you’. I did want to show him that I was just waiting.

Immediately she finished her teaching practice, she went to Nairobi and told Ruto that she was ready for marriage. She concluded,

One notable absence was Deputy President William Ruto who skipped her wedding. Ruto’s social media pages revealed that he was in Tharaka Nithi County where he was commissioning various projects. Speaking in an interview with Tony Gachoka on KTN’s Pointblank, Waiguru was coy, saying,

Attendance of the wedding was voluntary and the absence of Ruto should not be misinterpreted to mean a souring of the relationship between us.

She also disclosed that other top leaders had attended the wedding because political formations were happening, ‘In politics, formations happen. Those who showed up at the wedding were there either to confirm their membership to emerging political formations or friendship.’

Waiguru shaking hands with Raila

Waiguru also surprised with the statement that she was open to forming an alliance with ODM leader. She added that the Mt. Kenya would fully support Raila but she clarified that that did not mean that she had ditched DP Ruto.

Being a member of the Jubilee Party, we have to separate matters concerning the party from those of the handshake. President Kenyatta is the party leader and Ruto is the deputy party leader. When the time comes, we will make a decision on the direction the party will take. Ultimately, Kenyans will determine who will run the country. It is not an individual’s decision.

She then contested for the Kirinyaga governorship in 2017 where she won a hotly contested election against Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.

William Ruto builds church in his Karen official residence (images)

Deputy President William Ruto is a very religious man.

The industrious and illustrious politician has decided to take his dedication to the next level even building a church at his DP’s residence.

The church was launched on Wednesday, in a ceremony that was attended by Reverend Teresa Wairimu, Bishop Mark Kariuki, KFCB CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, Citizen TV’s Victoria Rubadiri and Joe Ageyo among others.

After the altar was dedicated by Reverend Wairimu, the guest shared a cake to celebrate. Mrs. Ruto shared the good news on the Facebook page saying;

Today (Wednesday), my husband, the Deputy President and I were blessed to have been joined by Fathers of Faith and key leaders in various mountains of influence during the opening ceremony of our National Prayer Altar at the official residence of the Deputy President. David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the Lord was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel (2 Samuel 24:25).

Construction began as early as August 22, 2018, when DP Ruto laid the foundation stone for the church. Ruto’s family was also prayed for by the host of religious leaders that were in attendance.

The last words Joyce Laboso spoke to DP William Ruto

Ruto has famously been seen in church donating vast sums of money on his visits. One of his most memorable visits was when he visited Reverend Teresa Wairimu’s church a day after he became the DP. On that day he could be seen crying uncontrollably.

He said at the time that he was crying because of the favour of the Lord on his life;

I have not cried like this for many years. The only time I remember crying like this was when I was a little boy and my mother is here to attest to that. My wife knew me as a strong man because she had never seen me emotional like this.

William Ruto delivers emotional condolence message to grieving Peter Kenneth

William Ruto is one of the most influential politicians in Kenya, having a silky smooth tongue for both serious and humorous issues like he recently displayed at Waititu’s daughter’s wedding.

But this article is about words he delivered yesterday evening in Gatanga, Murang’a County where he was condoling former MP Peter Kenneth.

Peter Kenneth

The former presidential aspirant’s 86-year-old mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni, passed away on July 18, 2019, at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, following a long illness.

In his address, DP Ruto reiterated his, as well as his family’s sincere condolences, following Ms. Muhuni’s demise. He said melancholically;

Poleni sana from my wife and children and from many of the friends whom I’ve talked to, we are truly in remorse because of what happened to your mum. I know that a parent, however old, is so dear to one, and it’s not easy to accept, even when the reality is so clear. So to you and your family, we want to say poleni sana for the loss of your mum.

Ruto added that he was proud of the way that Peter has handled himself throughout the trying period. Peter’s mother had had a stroke in 2003 and had been confined to a wheelchair for the last 10 years. She was taken care of closely by a team of nurses who lived with her.

‘I’ve given up. Just take care of Wambui and my kids’ – Bob Collymore told Uhuru

Bob Collymore has been the by-word on many people’s lips and that is understandable. One person who spoke about him at his memorial service was President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Uhuru and Collymore were closer than most Kenyans were aware of. The two met barely a week before the late CEO’s demise and had a 4-hour conversation.

In that tête-à-tête, the two spoke about the future of Kenya as well as the telecommunications company. Bob also relayed news of his impending death.

The head of state also remembered a promise that Bob had given him during the heart-to-heart. Uhuru recalled Bob’s words;

I’m going to break a promise I made to you over a year ago. I don’t think I have more than a couple of weeks to go. I’ve given up, I’ve tried everything and I have accepted my time has come. My chapter is closed. You cannot do anything for me, I have sorted my life and issues, just take care of Wambui and my kids.

William Ruto also spoke about the late visionary leader in glowing terms. He said

The deceased was confirmed dead at his Nairobi home on Monday morning after losing his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. His remains were cremated at Kariokor crematorium a day later.
