Nameless defends his marriage after fan said he can’t live without Wahu

Singer Nameless has emphasized that his marriage with his college sweetheart is built on a strong foundation.

In a recent post, the father of two responded to fans who said he would not be anything without Wahu.

The fans comment came after Wahu shared a throwback photo of them during their college days.

She captioned the post;

“Me and my campus boyfriend. only Jesus Christ and my big sister knew how much I loved this boy!”

The post elicited mixed reaction from fans with many praising the couple for standing by each other.

Here is what the fan wrote;

“Imagine no man can leave a woman if he knows she can do better without them. Its all starts with us not setting boundaries and worshiping them. Mathenge knows without Wahu, he is finished and she will do just fine without him.”

Nameless said it was very wrong for any fan to bring such an an analysis of their relationship.

“I choose to reply to you because I feel it is very unhealthy to promote such thoughts that people can be nothing without each other,” he wrote.

The father of two added thet they are together because they choose to be together, not because they are fearing being apart.

“That is something we decided early in our marriage. We decided that we have a choice and together or apart we would be fine … nobody will die. But we choose to be together because we have identified the value of our partnership in our individual journey,” he said.

Nameless discouraged people to promote the argument that a man is nothing without a woman or a woman in nothing without a man.

“That’s why many people are killing themselves or are killing their spouses, because of such thinking. We should promote, We are ok apart but can be better together,” he wrote.

He encouraged couples to learn how to accommodate each others strengths and weaknesses and have the humility to learn and grow in the relationship.

Wahu and Nameless has been together for over 15 years.

Help me wish Mathenge Sr and Mathenge Jr a happy Birthday.”
In 2020, Nameless’ father underwent successful brain surgery and a hip replacement.
Speaking to Word Is, Nameless said although the issue was supposed to be private, he chose to speak out to show gratitude.
“Some things we must be grateful for them. My dad is 84 years old and so overcoming that means a lot to us as a family,” he said.
“He was a bit weaker, especially although he is usually a very strong person but you see him getting weaker over time.”
Nameless says his father’s health started deteriorating very fast and at some point, he could not work. They became worried and thought he was falling into depression.
“He could not walk. One side of the eye was also not working. He had some blood clots in his head that caused some minor strokes,” he said.

“Today was the final day since Friday for taking my dad around Nyeri to meet all his surviving siblings. Today we took him to meet his eldest brother, Fafa Mukuru. As you can see when it comes to brothers hugging is a no! Men don’t hug. But you could feel the love and respect between them his elder brother is 96 years and his dad is 86,” Nameless wrote.

“I was slapped” Nameless recalls dating college sweetheart Wahu

Wahu and Nameless hilariously recalled their first night together in the boarding rooms at the University of Nairobi Mamlaka hall, and how Nameless was handed a hot slap by a man as they strolled, all because of Wahu.

The slap was so memorable that Nameless in an interview with Churchill on Sunday July 18th, told how he has never forgotten the moment from a stranger he claims was jealous he was with Wahu.

“There was a time I was slapped, you know I was very touchy natembea na yeye niko na dem msupa marking my territory then as we were walking I was slapped. A group of guys walking towards us, and one slapped me so me nilitoa miwani, the guys left”

A shy Wahu told Nameless he was exaggerating the events of that first date. The two however credited a friend for introducing them.

Wahu and Nameless narrated that they met at the Grand Regency when he was a backup singer and he was introduced to her after a performance.

An impressed Nameless even insisted that she made the first move.

“We met tuu hapo mbele kwa hio show alinikatia, nikaingia box”

Wahu said Nameless came across as a nice guy and he grew on her.

They have been together since and haven’t looked back. Speaking about what has helped them stay together all these years, Nameless joked “kuslapiwa mapema’ but added that ‘I think the friendship you know when you are a friend, you try and understand.”

Wahu agreed with his sentiments adding ‘I think the friendship, we met when we were in campus I liked him when he was Monski not Nameless, otherwise he would have had to work really hard to get me”.
