‘Babe I’m on my period’ Here are lies Kenyan women tell on valentines day

With valentines around the corner most men are already coming up with lies to use on that day so that their partners do not milk them dry.

Below are some of the lies Kenyans tend to use to avoid showing up on Valentine’s day either because they are too broke for it or have multiple partners.

Babe I got arrested

Well we all know how this one goes especially if Valentine’s day falls on a weekend.

A fellow will fake an arrest and since in Kenya once you are arrested over the weekend you get to taste freedom on Monday, this one works pretty well.

Mystery deepens as a Kenyan woman found dead in Nertherlands is cremated against her family’s wishes

My mum is hospitalized

If the lie about spending 14th February behind bars does not work, then how about lying about your elderly mother being hospitalized?.

To put ‘icing’ on the cake, you claim that you are your mother’s only next of kin who is around to look after her that’s how you dodge Cupid’s arrow!.

My Car broke down

A Jamaa planning to take his clande to Naivasha will drive all the way out of town, and since his girlfriend expects him to pick her up in the evening for a few drinks what does he do?.

He fakes an emergency  he will call her at around 6pm and claim his car has mechanical issues.

‘My husband must smell my cookie jar every day after work,’ woman cries

Wait for it, he only trusts one mechanic and he’s quite far so he will have to wait for him or get his car towed.

One hour ends up being the entire night and viola! before you know it it’s February 16th!

My bank remains closed on ‘holidays’

This may sound lame but imagine the number of people on this God’s given earth who still believe Valentine’s day is another holiday, celebrated all over the world.

So picture a smart lady or man claiming that he rushed to the bank to withdraw some cash ahead of their date only for them to find them ‘closed for holidays’. Smart huh?

Out of town for work

Well this one is as easy as it comes you call your lover in advance and notify them that you will be traveling out of town on a mandatory trip.

what do you do? Cuddle yourself!

I’m on my period

*Coughs*. Dear ladies saseeeeni? Sounds familiar? Yes? No? Ok bye!

Is Marriage Good Or Bad For Your Health? Psychologists Reveal

The whole business of deciding to get married can be a minefield.

From finding ‘the one’ to choosing the right date, then picking the flowers, guests, venue, food, and more – there is no end to the tumult of questions.

Once you get past the ‘big day’, it may not be a breeze but it is certainly good for your health, according to decades of research.

Studies have shown married individuals are less likely to suffer from depression and have a lower risk of developing conditions like hypertension or high cholesterol.

However, the anxiety of the wedding can be overwhelming for some, and if you’re not with the right person who makes you thrive rather than flounder, married life can be suffocating.

Sing’antuki Ng’o: Kuria woman refuses to leave hospital after husband chopped-off her hand

So for all those who are considering taking the plunge, now is the time to think about it as we plummet into engagement season.

A recent study by researchers from the University of Melbourne found that February 14 and days such as 9/9/99 or 1/2/03 are incredibly popular wedding dates with up to five times as many weddings than on comparable ordinary days.

On Valentine’s Day, millions of couples will propose.

Dr Jen Nash, clinical psychologist on behalf of Healthspan, offers some advice on what to consider before you say ‘yes’.

1. Do you find them attractive?

Whilst looks definitely aren’t the most important thing in a good match, most couples say that a physical spark or connection is key for ongoing physical intimacy.

2. Do you agree on the big things?

Children, where you’re going to live, finances… There are so many big issues you’ll face and disagree on – some of which you cannot even foresee. You might as well work out the things that are possible to discuss now.

3. Do you get on with his or her family?

Nightmare in-laws are something we can’t control, but if you can deal with their dramas or foibles, all the better

4. How do they respond in crisis?

Do they support you when you need it and in a way that really makes a difference?

5. Can you have a laugh together?

A shared sense of humor really helps with ongoing intimacy, especially as physical attraction may naturally start to wane.

LONELY HEARTS! 5 Reasons Why Some Ladies Didn’t Celebrate Valentine’s Day

So Valentine’s Day came and went, and lovers all over the world celebrated each other in one way or the other.

It’s obvious that this day is mostly made for those who are in relationships or are married, with most of the women having more of the fun since the day is somewhat considered a lady’s day.

Most of those women who celebrated this lover’s day were either taken out for candlelit dinners, received flowers, chocolates, teddy bears, shoes – all those cliche things – and for the lucky ones, some even received brand new cars.

Valentine's Day

But the truth of the matter is that not everyone enjoyed this day or had fun. For them, this was just a normal day where they went about their typical routines, then headed back home.

Love Behind Bars: This Is How Women Prisoners Spent Their Valentine’s Day

For those who didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, this may be because of their own personal reasons, and I cannot claim to know each one. How about we delve into some of the reasons that might have led some ladies not to celebrate this romantic day.

1. They Are Single
This is most definitely one of the obvious reasons why a lady could have decided to skip celebrating Valentine’s Day. If you don’t have a better half, then it would not sense unless you’re buying yourself flowers. For some single ladies, they decide to celebrate the day by appreciating family or close friends.

2. Valentines Day Is Not That Important
For some couples, this day doesn’t signify anything and at the end of the day, it’s all about celebrating love and your better half every day of the year. After all, who said that if your man or woman doesn’t treat you or buy you something special on Valentine’s, they don’t love you. Other ladies get presents every weekend…

3. They Got Dumped The Day Before/Same Day
Yes, there are some guys or ladies who actually dump their better halves on Valentine’s Day and instead of celebrating love, you start nursing heartbreak. For some people, it’s not planned and issues just crop up towards at that time, while for some, they might have had a few options and it happens they decided to go for the other one instead of you.

LOVER OF LOVE! Mimmy Khamis Confesses That She Would Kiss a Guy On The First Date & Reveals Her Ideal Man (Video)

4. The Guy Went Missing/Quiet
When a man has more than one woman, most of the time he will pull a quick one on the side chick because he has to be with his main lady or wife. Some mistresses aka “clandes” usually know that this man will not be around and maybe the only consolation they get is him sending some cash.

5. Long Distance Relationships
If you are dating a man who works in another country, there’s nothing much you can do on Valentine’s Day, other than act like it’s a normal day for you. Of course, the man will video call or something of the sort, and wish you a good one, but his presence (or lack of) makes a big difference. But hey, at least you have a man.

Mimmy Khamis oozes charisma, elegance, and pure charm whenever she walks into the room.

The mid-morning radio presenter recently took over from the previous radio host at Classic 105, and so far, she has proved that she can fit into the role, with a unique style of presentation and interaction with her fans.

The sweet, yet down to earth lady is also a lover of music, and when you tune in to listen to her smooth, mellow voice, her introduction to songs is just impeccable, giving details about the artiste, when the song was dropped, and even the message behind the lyrics.

Mimmy Khamis is not just charismatic but has also proved that she can swim with the sharks, being the only female radio presenter at Classic 105.

The beautiful presenter is also a lover of love and being Valentine’s Day, I took the chance to find out a few things about Mimmy’s Valentine’s plans, and of course took the chance ask her about her love life and more.

Mimmy Khamis is laid back when it comes to talking about her personal life, and most of the time, she likes to keep it professional. That, however, doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have a life outside the Classic 105 studios.

When we finally sat down for the interview, the bubbly Mimmy was calm and collected, as she waited anxiously for the questions I was going to ask her about Valentine’s and relationships.

mimmy-khamis-2

My first question was about the qualities her ideal man should have, and on that note, Mimmy Khamis revealed that she’s happily dating, as well as she whether she would date a guy shorter who is than her (she’s 5 foot 10 inches).

NOT COOL! Ladies, Don’t Do These 5 Annoying Things Just To Get a Man To Treat You On Valentine’s Day

Another interesting thing that Mimmy spoke about was whether she would go on a blind date on Valentine’s Day, and her worst Valentine’s ever. Speaking of dates, the pretty radio host confessed that she would kiss a guy on the first date…very interesting huh?

Watch the short video below as Mimmy Khamis talks about Valentine’s Day and dating. Oh, and also find out if she would prefer chocolates, flowers, teddy bear or a bottle of wine as a gift and if she would go to Uhuru Park for a date on this lover’s day.

NOT COOL! Ladies, Don’t Do These 5 Annoying Things Just To Get a Man To Treat You On Valentine’s Day

Every woman wants to be pampered by a man on the 14th of February because it’s a day that was set aside for all lovers around the world to appreciate each other.

For some, this day is not that important, because they believe that love should be celebrated each day of the year but for others, this day cannot go by without popping champagne with their better halves.

In another scenario, there are those kinds of women who want to celebrate Valentine’s Day but they don’t have boyfriends or husbands to do that with, and really wish they could have someone to take them out for a dinner or get an expensive gift for them.

Here’s What You Can Get Your Man/Woman For Valentines, According To Maina Kageni

date

Some women will just appreciate and accept their single status, but for others, they will go to very weird and annoying extends to try and woo a man or get a boyfriend before Valentine’s Day.

As much as this seems okay, it’s the worst thing a woman can do to herself, come on, it’s just Valentine’s, not the end of the world. I mean, a guy could even lose respect for you when you push it too far.

So, dear ladies, take note and avoid these annoying behaviors just to get a Valentine date.

1. Revealing Too Much On Social Media
Yes, there are ladies out there who will start posting raunchy photos of themselves as soon as it’s February 1st. Others will show off busty cleavages, others post bikini photos showing their curvy bodies, while some will flaunt their big booties just to make men be tempted to contact her. Honie, he will only want you for ‘that thing’.

2. Nagging a Guy With Calls Or Texts
So now, there’s this cute guy you like and he’s not made a move and it’s a few days to Valentine’s Day. So you decide to reach out to him, and when he picks or replies your text once, you make it a habit, calling or chatting him at any time of the day, even when he ignores you, you still try to push it with your annoying calls. STOP!

3. Trying To Ignite Old Flames
I know there are times ladies feel like maybe you can give your ex another chance, especially when he starts making moves on you towards Valentine’s Day. Then you start thinking with your heart instead of your head and end up giving in thinking that he wants to re-ignite your relationship… Girl, he will probably leave you that same week after he gets the goodies.

valentines-black-couple

4. Posting Twerk Videos On Social Media
So you want to show off your twerking skills and how big your behind is so that men can salivate and try to contact you. Well, that might actually happen, and you might even be spoilt for choice, but that guy will only like you for your physical appearance, but not for your personality. So even if he calls you for a date on Val’s, he will probably disappear afterwards.

5. Indulging In ‘Male Bonding Activities’
So you suddenly want to watch football with him, compete with him and his boys on play station, or even take him to the barber shop. And all this happens towards Valentine’s, yet before, you could not stand him and his friends watching a match in the house. Trying to get into his male bonding zone is not going to make him treat you extra special on Valentine’s Day, it has to come from the man.

Comedian Eric Omondi And His Beautiful Fiancée Celebrate Love In The Most Unique Way (Photos)

It’s that time of the year when lovers and couples come together to celebrate love and appreciate each other. Yes, I’m talking about Valentines Day, on the 14th of February.

Eric Omondi and his Italian girlfriend Chantal are one of the most celebrated and cutest couples in the Kenyan entertainment scene and I have to say they make a good team even when it comes to his comedy career.

The lovebirds are about to celebrate Valentines Day in a very unique way, and it’s not about flying out to another country or a candle-filled dinner at Kempinski, but instead, they are sharing the beautiful day with something for their fans.

The celebrated comedian and his hot Kenyan-Italian fiancee are set to drop a new video to celebrate the origin of love, with a re-enactment of Adam and Eve in the Garden Of Eden.

In case you forgot, Eric Omondi went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend on Valentines Day in 2016, during a get away at the beach, so for them this will also be a celebration of the day she said “yes”.

The lovely couple have manage to have a steady relationship despite being in the glaring eyes of the media, and the limelight but the two love-birds like sharing their sweet, special moments once in a while.

In the pre-Valentine photo shoot, Eric Omondi and his girlfriend dress up in custom made leave clothes, similar to what Adam and Eve wore in the Bible, to cover up their nudity.

MWAAAH!!! Neomi Nganga Gives Tips On How To Be A Good Kisser This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and pretty soon, the town will be painted red. Literally!

Your significant other will probably be on your case for the next few days, bugging you and giving hints of what they want. Some might even go missing for a while, even switching off their phones and their explanation will probably be, “Babe, you know my phone has problems…”, – Yeah, we’ve heard that before!

neomi

Well, there are those who are a bit serious and actually take the time to celebrate this special day. My question is, why shouldn’t we love each every single day?

Kissing is a really affectionate form of expression. We kiss our parents, siblings, friends and lovers and is known as a form of communication that is almost always connected to love. So, if you don’t know how to kiss your lover, don’t fret. It’s not too late to learn.

Actress Neomi Nganga, has taken her sweet time to teach you, or rather give you tips on how to be a good kisser.

Neomi

She wrote, “Have you ever had a bad kissing experience? Semeni ukweli… Anyway, if you would like to become a better kisser, here are a few tips for you:
1. Freshen up – avoid having a bad breath
2. Work your eyes – Kissing with your eyes wide open is very creepy….aiiih.
3. Take your time since kissing is team effort between you two.
4. Mind your tongue.
5. Be spontaneous.
6. Control your saliva.
7. EXPLORE
Hapa najua nimesaidia wengi….”

Who’s looking forward to practicing these skills on Valentine’s?

Three Things That Could Go Wrong On Valentine’s Day

Today being Valentine’s many people wouldn’t want anything to go wrong, but unfortunately for some it will. While many may want to have a smooth day to celebrate with their loved ones, some of the things you may doing with good intentions may end up going south:

Gifts -You spend more money on your partner then they get you something that you do not like or something “basic” off the supermarket shelves. One person will feel short changed. Then in another instance, one person doesn’t get a gift they may not show it but they will feel bad.

Date – On this day your loved one expects to be taken to a good restaurant and to be dined, but then you take them to a local nyamchom joint. There will be chaos at the end of it all because they know they deserve something nice on that day. You may not be rich enough but this is the one day you need to up your game.

Relationship status – Sometimes one may not be so much into the relationship as they were earlier and may want to end things. Unfortunately lovers day comes and they are torn as to whether they should tell their partners or to wait until a later date. Some fight couples have may affect how you celebrate this day so it might be hard to create the mood. Some people might also be in an undefined relationship so it becomes tricky to plan.

Woman in court after failing to pay Sh230,000 valentine’s bill at Intercon hotel

A botched Valentines date at a five-star hotel in the city has landed a woman in court for failing to pay Sh200,000 bill after her boyfriend failed to turn up. Twenty-seven-year-old Laura Ogolla is said to have checked into the Hotel Intercontinental a week before the ‘big day’.

She dined and wined at the luxurious hotel from January 27 until February 16, allegedly waiting for her lover. Ogolla’s short term lavish lifestyle was, however, cut short when she was asked to settle her bills that had reached Sh229,505.

She was arraigned in court Wednesday and charged with obtaining credit by false witnesses. The charge sheet stated that Ogolla pretended that she could pay for the services rendered by the hotel when she knew she could not. She was accused of incurring a liability to the hotel between January 27 and February 16.

Ogolla denied the charge before resident magistrate Edah Agade who released her on Sh100,000 bail. She deposited the cash and left the Milimani law courts shortly. The trial will begin on March 18.

Narok cops get Valentine’s day treat from saloonists

Narok police officers on duty during Valentine’s day got a treat when a beauty parlour proprietor led her staff in gifting the officers.

Joyce Kemei, the owner of Instant Beauty Parlour led 10 of her staff in presenting flowers and other gifts to the officers. The officers were treated to song and dance as the salonists expressed their appreciation for the officers’ work. Kemei said few people appreciated the good work being done by police officers.

She added that the officers do a good work of protecting their lives and property. “During this Valentine Day people get immersed in the world of love and totally forget that the officers deny themselves this as they go about giving security. In our small way we have come here to appreciate them and share our love with them,” Kemei said.

She added that most of the officers do not get enough time to be with their loved ones hence gifting them is a show of appreciation and love for them.

The officers led by County Administration Police Commander Paul Kerich termed the gesture as a pleasant surprise. Kerich thanked the salonists for acknowledging the challenges the police face in the line of duty.

“This is a special Valentine for us. Most of our loved ones are far away but we have really felt loved by the gesture showed to us by this team,” Kerich said.

One million condoms for Nairobi on International Condoms Day

Nairobi will Friday join the rest of the country and the world in marking the International Condoms. The day is celebrated every 13th day of February annually.

The occasion that comes ahead of Valentine’s Day on Saturday will kick off with a procession from University of Nairobi that will go to Globe Cinema roundabout, through the CBD with a media stop over at Koinange Street.

The procession will then move to Railways Station, Gikomba market, Githurai, Kangemi, Shaurimoyo estates and surrounding areas.

The road show organised by the Nairobi City County Health Services will sensitize the public on proper condom use as a way of preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS.

“The event involves publicity, condom promotion and distribution. We intend to distribute one million condoms to the public during this function,” Chief Officer County Health Services Dr Robert Ayisi said in a statement.
