You want to make first impression? Don’t kiss!

You will judge people after seeing them for the very first time. Well, a behavioral and body language expert has revealed her simple tricks for making a great first impression in just 15 seconds.

’15 TO 30 SECONDS IS ALL YOU’VE GOT FOR SOMEONE TO DECIDE IF THEY WANT TO LISTEN TO YOU OR NOT SO IT’S ALL ABOUT TONE, INFLICTION, DICTION, ARTICULATION, POWER OF PAUSE, PACE, SMILE AND ENGAGEMENT,’

So how can you make this work? Below are some of the tricks.

* Be mindful of personal body space, you don’t want to run up to someone and kiss them if they don’t want that

* Don’t stand so far away that you need to raise your voice to speak

* Treat the person like you would treat a friend

* Master small talk by speaking to them about themselves and their accomplishments – people love talking about themselves

* If the conversation is drying up, excuse yourself to ‘go to the bathroom’ or to ‘get some food’

* Dress in an outfit that makes you feel confident as the brain is wired to behave based on how you feel in a look

* Stand tall, never have your arms folded and have a ‘pleasant disposition’

She  explained that you have to think about why people would want to stop to listen to you in the first place.

‘ARE YOU INSPIRING THEIR CURIOSITY? ARE YOU EXCITING THEM? CAPTIVATING THEM? DELIGHTING THEM? WHAT IS IT THAT GETS THEM TO WANT TO KEEP LISTENING TO YOU?’ SHE SAID.

It is also vital that you engage the space with open body language, make eye contact and avoid kissing or hugging during a first meeting as that kind of contact makes many people feel uncomfortable.

‘BE MINDFUL OF PERSONAL BODY SPACE, YOU DON’T WANT TO RUN UP TO SOMEONE AND KISS THEM IF THEY DON’T WANT THAT BUT YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SO FAR APART THAT YOU’RE SHOUTING YOUR “HI” EITHER,’ SHE SAID.

Many people find small talk challenging but Grazina explained that the simple secret is treating the person you’re talking to ‘like a friend’.

On top of this, she recommends filling in the time talking about the other person.

‘PEOPLE LOVE CHATTING ABOUT THEMSELVES SO THE MINUTE YOU GET THEM CHATTING, THE SMALL TALK BECOMES ABOUT THEM, AND YOU BECOME WAY MORE INTERESTING,’ SHE SAID.

If you’ve reached the moment of the conversation where you’re no longer entertained, Grazina said you simply need to ‘run away’ to get food or go to the bathroom.

Grazina added it’s important to dress in something that will make you feel confident as she explained that brains are wired to ‘start behaving in correlation to what you’re wearing’.

7- Day Trick To Get A Guy You Like

You’ve seen a guy you like and you don’t know how to approach them for a reason or two. Worry not, sometimes it’s far much easier to show your interest in a subtle manner than take a direct approach. There are simple steps to do this:

Day 1 – Make eye contact:  The way you stare at someone says a lot more than your words.  Look at him in a way that he’ll know you are actually interested in him.

Day 2 – Do a small introduction: You can begin a conversation with him by introducing yourself. Don’t tell him your life history, just a little but interesting chat will be fine.

Day 3– Keep him interested: You started by introducing yourself the previous day, there’s a chance he might be the one to do the talking today. This could mean you managed to get him interested in you. Try to sustain this by having further conversations with him. Don’t say no if he asks you out for lunch.

Day 4 – Talking online: You can add him up on your social media platform. Do a little research on his likes and dislikes but don’t hit the like button on his old comments or photos. As much as you want to find something to talk about, refrain from asking about a photo or comment made in the past.

Day 5– Invite him for an event: You can ask him to go with you to an event such as a concert, exhibition or play, since you now know what he likes to do. When you both get to the event, don’t fuss over him. Pay him enough attention to keep him interested in you.

Day 6 – Take a break, let him do the chasing: You are done with your part, seat back and watch what happens. Wait for him to call, don’t text or even reply promptly when he texts. Be scarce but not out of his sight. Let him know he still has a lot of work to do to win you over.

Day 7 He actually asks you out on a date: It’s normal to be happy, behave yourself for your own good.

Wedding Day Tricks All Brides Need (As Discussed By Brides)

Weddings can be quite a hustle especially for the bride and groom as they are the center of attention. It can get tiring, frustrating and exciting in equal measure. The big day can be quite overwhelming, but there are tricks to make it simpler for you if you haven’t done a wedding yet:

When people tell you to eat beforehand, just do it – it’s important to at least have a sandwich to hold your stomach during the day because it’s highly unlikely that you will eat anything. The nerves, excitement and a rollercoaster of emotions plus being the centre of attention will be enough to kill your appetite. – Maryanne

Set aside time to cry – “I was so afraid I’d be emotional — that I’d bawl my eyes out going down the aisle so instead of meeting my groom at the altar, I had a private meeting with just us two and the photographer to give us our own emotional moment, without any other eyes on us. Of course I was still emotional and someone told me just to let it out; don’t hold it in. Once I let out a good cry, I felt better and could enjoy the rest of the ceremony/day. — Jenny S.

Get two of everything – Have extra stuff stashed for your bridesmaids, especially if they’re traveling (extra shoes and jewelry). You can always return the stuff they don’t wear. — Sarah L.

When something big goes wrong the day of, just laugh – My bridesmaids and I walked a few blocks to the shuttle pickup, ready to head to the ceremony site for pictures. Well, the shuttle never came. Our options were to wait 30 minutes for another shuttle to come and miss out on taking photos or frantically call nearby friends and beg them for a ride. We ended up caravanning down to the site. It was hilarious. — Rebecca B.

Leave your wedding, Just for a moment – Make sure to take a moment during your reception for the two of you to stand back alone, tucked away somewhere no one will see you or bug you — I mean, congratulate you — and watch your wedding. Even just for a moment, watch your friends and family all having a great time celebrating your love. You’ve worked hard to create this day and you deserve to see it all come together. It will be gone before you know it, so take a minute to enjoy it! — Whitney W.

Buy extra, extra alcohol if your venue is BYOB – Our venue let us buy booze to stock the bar (definitely do this if you can — it’s a huge money saver), so we placed a large order (or so we thought). Even with all of that, we ended up running out of vodka very early (it was still light out!), and it wasn’t because people were drinking that much, but more that they were just ordering and putting their drinks down. In any event, my then-fiancé had a few gallons in the car he’d purchased just as a backup. It was such a good idea. — Rebecca B.

Want Your Lipstick To Last? Here’s How To Do It

When you leave the house after you make up is done and you’re looking good then your lipstick rubs off within minutes doesn’t it annoy you?

I bet it does and you are probably wondering if there is anything you can do to keep it longer. Well there are ways in which your lipstick can stay on for long.

Here a few easy ways to make sure that your lip colour lasts longer…

Scrub off dead cells and skin from your lips -with a mild exfoliator. You can also use a soft toothbrush to get rid of flakes of dry skin from your lips. Dead cells and skin not only make your lips look dehydrated but they also make the lipstick wear off in no time.

Moisturise your lips well–  You can use a petroleum jelly or a good lip balm. In fact, one of the best moisturisers are oils such as sweet almond and coconut oil. Massage either of these on your lips and gently dab off the extra oil with a tissue.

Use a lip liner – preferably nude, to make your lipstick last longer. You can also use it as your base colour as it helps add intensity to the colour. Fill your lips with a single coat of lip liner. Since lip liners generally tend to make lips dry, don’t forget to moisturise your lips well prior to its application.

Brush – It is always advisable to not use a lipstick from the tube. Use a brush to apply it evenly. Take less amount of colour at one go and do not overload the brush.

Tissue – After filling your lips with colour, take a tissue and put it on your lips. Dust a bit of talcum powder with a brush over your lips. This will set the colour and also give you a neat matte effect.

Tricks to make you look better in photos

Sometimes when we take photos they appear funny and all we want to do is delete, well here are some easy tips to transform your photos from bad to fabulous.

1. Add colour –  Ladies: try a bright lip shade of lipstick, rosy cheeks or a bright scarf. Guys: ditch the neutral shirt for one in a brighter shade or add a bright color square to a suit.

2.Background – Choose a background that is bold and offers a contrast, choose a background a different color than your hair and outfit  also make sure there are no distracting images behind you .

3.Cross your ankles- If you are unable to avoid being shot head on, try crossing your ankles, starting at the calf. This stance will give the appearance of narrower hips and longer legs.

4.Know your angle –  Since cameras use reflected light to convert a 3D object into a 2D image, the shapes of things are flattened and compressed. Looking straight ahead at the camera can show the fullness of your face and remove/reduce any natural shadows.  Sometimes a slight tilt or a simple angle to a face makes a big difference. Even though you’re super attractive, you likely have a ‘good side,’ the angle at which your face looks best on film.

5.Use props –

Even if you’re in a group, try to avoid the classic “arm around person next to you” move. It can be awkward for those around you, result in individuals becoming one giant blob and is sure to end up with a few randomly placed hands. Hold something or putyour  hands in pockets or on hip or gently tug at necklace or tie.
