Exposed!!Here is the woman who was warming Okoth Obado’s bed before Sharon Otieno came along (photos

Its been weeks since the late Sharon Otieno was laid to rest after her gruesome murder along side her unborn baby leaving Kenyans in shock.

The Rongo University student was expectant with Okoth Obado’s child and it is alleged that he had demanded that she terminate it something she was not willing to do.

Before her murder it had emerged that the slain Rongo University student, Sharon Otieno had to flee to Tanzania to escape constant harassment and stalking by people who wanted her to abort her pregnancy.

The late Sharon Otieno

Haunting words from Sharon Otieno to her killers from her grave

The family claims that her tormentors were aggressive to a point where she feared for her life.

“She travelled to Mwanza by road. While there, she switched off her phones to prevent anyone from reaching her,” her mother Hellen Auma told the media.

Detectives claim that plans to kill Sharon may have been hatched months before the killers struck earlier this month. According to the Standard, it has been alleged that the plan to eliminate her had aborted on at least two occasions.

Sharon’s mum, Hellen confirmed that her worried daughter left hurriedly for Mwanza in early August and stayed away for about a week.

“Sharon woke up one morning and told me she wanted to go to Tanzania because she was no longer safe in Kenya. She didn’t tell me who was threatening her life.”

Sharon returned a week before she fell into the hands of her killers.

She met her death in the most horrifying of ways. Sharon was stabbed 8 times. 3 times at the back of the neck, 4 back, 1 left side of the stomach.

Okoth Obado admits Sharon Otieno’s pregnancy was his. ‘It is normal to have a moment of weakness’ he says

She had many bruises and strangulation marks on her neck. Her abdomen was stabbed from the back to the front, killing the baby in her womb.

It has emerged that another woman was in a similar situation as Sharon.

Rhoda Odie Nyakwaka also had to abort her pregnancy after a reported affair with Governor Okoth Obado.

She happens to be Okoth Obado’s sister-in-law.

Rhoda Nyakwaka

The First Lady, Hellen Okoth and Rhoda are born of the same father who got the latter after inheriting her widowed mother in Kadika village of Suna Central sub-county.

According to the Nairobian, when Hellen discovered the shenanigans of her beloved husband with Rhoda, she is said to have gone bonkers even as Obado, lawyer, Cliff Ombeta, insists they have never been an item.

But a member of the Kadika clan from Hellen’s side of the family told The Nairobian that Obado’s affair with Rhoda has remained an open secret for a long time.

There were allegations Obado even got Rhoda pregnant but the pregnancy was allegedly terminated at the behest of angry relatives who accused her of crossing the blood line.

The tabloid further reports that the man claimed the affair started three years back when the governor employed Rhoda at the county head-quarters in the catering department.

“He even gifted her a house in Nyasare estate within Migori town,” the relative added.

Exposed! Sharon Otieno’s message to Okoth Obado’s wife before her death

Before her untimely death Sharon Otieno, a second year student had plans with Migori Governor Okoth Obado to buy her a house in Nairobi .

The two did not get to come to a final agreement as Sharon’s body was found dumped in Kodera forest with eight stab woods. She was 7 months pregnant and the Governor has finally taken responsibility and admitted that the pregnancy was his.

The Governor declined, citing exorbitant prices, and promised to build her one in Migori County instead, this seems to have frustrated the late Sharon who opted to reach out to Obado’s wife Hellen  and son Daniel.

The detectives revealed that the messages included

“Plans for travel together to a romantic getaway, whereto meet, certain items the Governor was to buy as well as as discussions on the future of the baby being carried by Sharon Otieno.”

Detectives claim Sharon forwaded the lovey dovey messages and conversation about the baby and the house to the wife and son. Obado  recently came out to distance himself from Sharons murder.

In his first media conference since Sharon’s death he said

“We have come here as a family that has been devastated, ridiculed and embarrassed by the sad news of the demise of Sharon. We are indeed at our very lowest moment in life. Hata usingizi hakuna, hata appetite hakuna [loosely translated as, ‘We have lost sleep and appetite.”

Sending condolences to the friends and family of the deceased, Obado denied involvement in the murder that has seen so far his aide charged afresh in Nairobi and held in remand for fourteen more days.

“Yesterday (Tuesday), I recorded a statement in Kisumu with the DCIO. I would like to say here that I am still ready and willing to give further statements so that real killers of Sharon can be brought to book. As a law abiding citizen, I have nothing, and absolutely nothing, to do with the cruel death of Sharon.”

A group of women rights activists from across the country have condemned the murder of the 26-year-old.

Might this words from an earlier post by Sharon Otieno hint that she might have know what might happen to her?

“At times mimi huchoka na human beings. It’s not right to ruin someone’s reputation for no apparent reason, aki you mean you really say **** about someone mpaka uone tu umemharibia. You will be judged someday because nothing bad goes unpunished, good morning guys.”

‘Every time I view her body and see what her killers did, it angers me’ Sharon Oteno’s dad says ahead of burial today

It has been about one and a half months since 26-year-old Sharon Otieno was abducted and her lifeless body found in a thicket in Oyugis.

On Thursday 18th October, 2018, her body was taken home in a brown coffin. On seeing this her mother Melida Auma fainted after being overwhelmed by emotions.

Not even the ones who had braced themselves to comfort her managed to catch her in time. She jumped several times, yelling, her body shaking in sorrow before collapsing.

For more than an hour, relatives tried to make her regain consciousness.

Not even the heavy rain that pounded the area could keep away the mourners away. To them, nothing mattered than mourning their daughter.

Mr Douglas Otieno, Ms Otieno’s father, was composed and walked around his compound quietly. He preferred to be left alone and only shook his head when the Nation team approached him.

Here are the reasons why Jacque Maribe and Jowie might be denied bail

The Rongo University student’s body arrived at their Magare home at 4pm. Friends, relatives and other mourners had travelled for over 50 kilometres to Med25 International-Kenya Hospital Mortuary in Mbita constituency to pick the body.

The body was transferred from Rachuonyo Level Four Hospital in Oyugis over security concerns about a month ago.

At the mortuary he said that

“This is heavy for us. We will bury our daughter, but nothing will make us forget this pain. Every time I view her body and see what her killers did, it angers me. They were merciless,”

He added that words cannot express the family’s agony, no wailing can heal their hearts and no amount of tears can describe their loss.

‘We are not hiring professional mourners from Ghana’ Sharon Otieno’s family clears the air

The family of slain University student Sharon Otieno has blamed social media users for “scuttling” their fundraiser scheduled for this Sunday.

The burial committee says social media users are circulating a fake budget for Sharon’s funeral to discourage guests from attending the fundraiser at Magare Village, Homa Bay County.

The fake list, allegedly containing the funeral budget, is circulating on social media platforms in Homa Bay, Migori, Kisumu and Siaya counties.

Some of the items in the fake budget include Sh300, 000 for hiring professional mourners from Migori and Ghana, catering services from Mwanza, Tanzania at Sh200, 000 and importing a coffin from England at Sh120, 000.

The total budget in the alleged fake budget is Sh2.5 million.

Funeral committee chairman Elijah Opiyo yesterday told journalists in Homa Bay that Sharon’s burial budget was Sh1.1 million.

Mr Opiyo said the social media users were out to portray the family as being obsessed with luxuries. He said they planned to buy a Sh50, 000 coffin.

Here is what Sharon Otieno’s mum wants the court to do with Okoth Obado regarding daughter’s murder

Melinda Auma, the mother of slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, has urged the court to deny Migori governor Okoth obado bail until the murder trial is expedited.

In an affidavit, Auma asks the court to balance the request for bail against the greater public interest to find her daughters and unborn child killers and to determine that the grant of bail will undermine the latter.

She wants the court to find that there are compelling reasons to deny the accused persons bail because she believes that three conspired and played a central role in the murder of her daughter.

“I pray that everyone linked to the murder of my daughter Sharon and her unborn child remain in custody even as the trial is expedited.”

Melida says they are living under mortal fear following the murder of her daughter adding that the thought that Obado will be freed during trial is chilling.

She says Obado, being the governor, wields immense influence and she fears that his release, more so when three other suspects are still at large, will pose a high risk of interference with witnesses and evidence.

In part her affidavit reads

“This will render vain the efforts being made by the DCI and the DPP to bring those who murdered my daughter to justice,”

Obado had on September 25 made an application for bail pending trial.

Two days later, Justice Jessie Lessit disallowed his application for reasons that the prosecution had not supplied all the parties with witness statements and the evidence.

Obado has since renewed his application for bail citing health grounds. He says that parties were supplied with the Committal Bundle on October 3, 2018 and  is now at liberty to make the bail application afresh.

Okoth Obado admits Sharon Otieno’s pregnancy was his. ‘It is normal to have a moment of weakness’ he says

Migori governor Okoth Obado finally admitted to the police that he had a relationship with murdered Rongo University student Sharon Otieno and that the pregnancy was his.

According to police officers who have seen his statement, the governor reportedly said he had told Sharon to keep the pregnancy and was ready to take care of her and the baby, before her gruesome murder.

Sharon, according to the police, had even asked to be bought a house in Nairobi. But the governor was ready to buy land or a house for her in Rongo. Sharon’s family has previously said Obado had a sexual relationship with their daughter, who was found dead in Kodera Forest last Wednesday.

The seven-month pregnant woman had been raped and stabbed eight times: thrice in the neck, four times in the back and on the left side of her abdomen.

Yesterday, Obado, called a media conference in Nairobi where he once again denied any involvement in the murder of Sharon.

On Tuesday, Obado’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta confirmed that his client had a love affair with Sharon.Speaking to KTN news on Wednesday, Ombeta said Obado’s relationship was on and they cannot refute the claims.

“When the photos were circulating on social media long before this, it was not a secret even the people in the county knew about it…there was a relationship,It is a normal thing for people to have a moment of weakness but speaking of murder no.”

The revelations emerged on the day the court in Nairobi ruled that Michael Oyamo, the personal assistant to Obado, be charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno after two weeks.

High Court judge Luka Kimaru who read out the murder charge to Oyamo directed him not to plead to the charge because investigations had not been completed.

“You shall or may be charged with murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code of the laws of Kenya. The particulars of the offence are that between 3rd and 4th September 2018 at Owande area, Rachuonyo South subcounty within Homa Bay county jointly with others not before court, you murdered Sharon Beryline Otieno. So that is for your information.”

He also ordered Oyamo be detained at the Muthaiga police station to enable police complete investigations, which detectives say are complex.

“Due to the multifaceted and complex nature of the investigation that involves many suspects and many leads, it is only fair that the subject continue to be detained for a further period of 14 days. He shall be detained at the Muthaiga police station. During his detention, his rights and fundamental freedoms that are guaranteed by the Constitution shall be protected.”

Sharon was abducted alongside Nation reporter Barrack Oduor while in the company of Oyamo who left them with the attackers. But the reporter freed himself and fled.

Yesterday Obado, dressed in a navy blue suit, light blue shirt with a matching shirt, strolled calmly to the press briefing at Nairobi’s Serena hotel with his guards keeping an eye on the battery of journalists.

I would like to say here that I am still ready and willing to give further statements so that real killers of Sharon can be brought to book.As a law abiding citizen, I have nothing, and absolutely nothing, to do with the cruel death of Sharon.”

The governor called on politicians and media to stop what he termed as medieval punishment, urging them to let the investigative agencies to do their job.

“I thank people of Migori, my supporters and the general electorate and all well wishers who have been with me in prayers. I call on them to continue praying for me in all endeavors. I urge all investigating agencies to speed up their work so as real killers of Sharon can be brought to book as fast as possible.”

Attempts by journalists to know why Obado had taken long to speak, what relationship he had with the deceased, why police had interest in him and what link the aide had in the murder or on whose behalf he was acting, were thwarted by his lawyer Ombeta.

For a man who was used to the best things life has to offer he now has to be contented with the little food that jail has to offer. From holding meetings with international leaders here is Okoth Obado’s itinerary while in jail.

1.Initially he was in a separate room but has now been moved to a room where he has to share with two or three other people.

2.From eating buffet and five course meals Obado now survives on kawaida jail food which includes rice and beans, ugali sukuma among other ‘delicacies’ the only difference is that his food is cooked a little better.

3.Wakes up to a head count, the police cannot risk any remandee escaping thus they do this every single day.

4.11.am  Lunch is served, the liberty of eating when you feel like is no longer available for Mr Governor as he has to adhere to the set rules.

5 At 4.pm  dinner is served . Remember how we used to curse back in high school for being served supper at 6pm? Imagine how bad it is for Okoth Obado to be served at 4.00pm.

But he has no option after all he is a visitor of the state and you cannot dictate how you want to be treated when you are in someone’s house.

6. Can you imagine that Obado has to sleep at 6:30pm? Well before being allowed to go to sleep he has to undergo a head count which is usually carried out while ‘remandees ‘ are squatting .

Once inside the cells Obado and other remandees are allowed to interact, share Bible stories or even pray.

Sharon Otieno’s mother has opened up on the toll her daughter’s death has had on her even as investigations into her death continue.

During an interview with Nation, Melida Auma emotionally stated that up to date she is yet to understand why her daughter had to die.

“I felt tormented and wondered how he could just be involved in the brutal killing of my beloved child. I asked myself endless questions on just how he could have betrayed my child who loved him a lot.”

During a recent hearing of her daughters case, the mother appeared weak and lost in thoughts as the court proceedings dragged on. At one point, she had to be supported by relatives.

Here are all the plans slain Kilimani woman Monicah Nyawira had for her birthday before her gruesome murder

Overcome by emotions, she broke down, weeping uncontrollably and lamenting that the killers of her daughter could still afford to stand before them and even smile.

“I felt scared. How could the man in front of me lead to the death of my heavily pregnant daughter and her unborn child? This is unexplainable, it is too much for me and I do not want to talk about it,”

“How could some of her killers still afford to be free, three weeks after they brutally murdered my daughter who was a jewel to me. I felt bitter.”

The father is also affected by the death despite the fact that the media has over shadowed his presence rarely talking about him.

Obado who was spent the weekend in police custody appeared calm but pensive in the face of accusations of murdering his lover, Sharon.

He denied the charge and immediately his lawyers urged the court to release him on bail on grounds that his family solely depends on him and will suffer if he is detained.
But Justice Jesse Lessit directed that Obado be remanded at the Industrial Area prison and scheduled the bail application for hearing today.

Renown for her strictness in court, the presiding judge of the criminal division of the High Court in Nairobi is a jurist of few words,

Among the prominent cases she has handled include murder case against businessman Kamlesh Pattni and recently the murder case against prison beauty queen Ruth Kamande.

While she freed Pattni for lack of evidence, she sentenced Kamande to death for killing her boyfriend in cold blood.

When Gombe was questioned, it emerged that the vehicle operates as a taxi within Migori county and is registered in the name of Olivia Oloo Adhiambo, an employee of the Migori county government.

Olivia is married to Caspal Ojwang Obiero who also works at the county as PA to the governor. The DPP stated that Sharon’s murder was calculated

“The car track system in the vehicle was deactivated on September 3 –the date of the incident and reactivated the following day. This clearly was a well calculated move by the killers to conceal the movement of the vehicle in question,”
