Sanaipei Tande says she was always fighting hangovers before quitting alcohol

Singer Sanaipei Tande says she quit drinking in 2019 and that changed her life completely.

Speaking to M Tuva, Sanaipei said it was not easy journey to quit.

“I had decided like for two years and in 2019, I quit and things started working out for me. Appetite came back and I started blossoming. Quitting alcohol was the best decision to ever do,” she said.

Sana added that before then, she was always sleeping during the day and in a bad mood.

“When you drink, you are always not in a good mood and not focused but right now, I am always speaking about positivity. I went into acting and I feel I look good. My life was working at night and fighting handovers during the day.”

The ‘Simama Imara’ hitmaker said after that major decision, she felt like she should have done it like 10 years ago.

“I would try and backslide. It was tough hosting Karaoke while sober. I wanted to rebrand. I think one of the major changes I made and everything changed with that one decision is that in 2019, I made a conscious decision to stop taking alcohol, and so a lot changed with that one decision,” she said.

“I was like, why didn’t I stop like 10 years ago? But you know, everything happens at the time it is supposed to happen. You have those experiences so they can better inform your future.”

‘Most West African music promotes immorality,’ says Sanaipei Tande

Songstress Sanaipei Tande does not agree with Eric Omondi that West African music beats Kenyan music.

Speaking in an interview with NTV, Sanaipei who is currently promoting her EP said she is not easily moved by trends.

“I guess the reason I still do music is since I can write a song that really helps someone. I love when I can come up with a verse that gets deep to someone. I have a family that keeps me grounded.”

She added that she is proud of artistes who make money from their music in the right way.

“Let’s not pretend that it’s not about money since you put in money to get the songs out and we appreciate the money that comes with it. Legit money. I think I continue doing good music as long as there are people who appreciate it and its clean music. I am good to go.”

Responding to Eric’s claim that Tanzanians and West Africans beat Kenyan artistes in their music, Sana asked;

“Who is he comparing to us? There is an issue with the appreciation of Kenyan artistes by Kenyans. I don’t know why but I think the system doesn’t allow artistes to be as big as the West Africans but again it comes down to content.”

She added;

“You are comparing us to Tanzanians and West African and half of their content is promoting sex, partying, and alcohol.

I probably would not be the best to talk about it but content-wise, I don’t think they are good. The beats comes in and then the sexual connotation that is there. As much as they are well packaged, what impact do they have on the youths and society?

I don’t feel Eric’s vibe and it doesn’t affect me since I know I am doing good music and I know I’m touching people’s souls. I write about what I feel and that which is helping someone out there.

I don’t sit and think about doing a hit song.”

I used to live in a lodging and abused during karaoke gigs – Sanaipei Tande

Sanaipei Tande has opened up about being homeless, hustling in dangerous karaoke gigs in the city centre during a session on the #singletonseries with Bikozulu.

In a youtube video confession, Sanaipei confessed that she risked alot to make money from hustles after losing her job at NMG.

She began saying there was alot of abuse while hosting karaoke in town.

“So I tried hosting karaoke again at the time I was living in a 55,000 shillings apartment, and the only karaoke I  could get at the time were paying between 10,000 and 12,000, and I worked in one, no three clubs in town at this particular club on Moi avenue and it was terrifying. So you are working karaoke from like 8pm to midnight,  you’ve packed your car downstairs. I had to go to the balcony to look around and see how safe  it was for me to go back to my car to leave coz there were street men. Those were not  boys, those were not kids. Those were grown up people with their glue and they were dancing in the middle of the street and I’m thinking how am I going to make it safe to my car? So then with other challenges I was facing with some rude clients who would manhandle me and push you saying oh Sanaipei you didn’t play my song, oh I didn’t get my shot”

Adding

“There was alot of abuse, I don’t wanna call it abuse but for lack of a better word there was abuse from some of the clients and then so you do your whole karaoke at night, you fight with the client and then when you go ask for your money you’re told oh the boss didn’t leave any money. Please note, it was just 10k or 12k or I’m told the boss didn’t leave money because he said it was a bad night we have to work over the weekend for you to get your money and that was a trying time coz this money was not jut going to me it was also going home to help and somebody after all the abuse I have been through that night and how dangerous it is for me to get back to my car somebody says oh you can’t get paid today.”

So this is 2015 going into 2016 and in 2016 November I realized I had to move back home.

What gave her the courage to move back home?

“my parents like I said, my family has been so supportive there’s not a single time phase in my life where they shut me out or told me that see we cant help you with that and so this moment in time when things had hit the fan and I needed support I wasn’t embarrassed about what had happened even if I caused it which I didn’t but this is a situation, look you have no money to pay your rent what your options? go back home so i moved back 2016.

She continued “between 2016 and2017 I had to find a place to stay because I was hosting karaoke., Funny thing is I never noticed this signboard saying Kenya Continental Hotel when I was going to vineyard I mean I had been going to vineyard for like one too many times, it’s now dejavu let me not get the name wrong so I went and I spoke to them and I asked charges. it was 3500 bed and breakfast check in was 11 check out as 10am and breakfast was  thermos of tea eggs two slices of break two sausages that was a tough time unmm I never imagined that I would be sleeping in a lodging and a you drive home , home which was the lodging you know i used to park my car there and just break down cause I used to ask myself how did i get here how did i get to be sleeping in a lodging earning ten thousand shillings after insults and disrespect it didn’t make sense to me”

I will marry in 10 years and have 2 kids only – Sanaipei Tande declares

Singer Sanaipei Tande has responded to fans who keep asking when she will get married, citing age as a reason.

In an interview with Bikozulu on the #singletonseries, Sanaipei told that she will not yield to societal pressure to marry and will do so in her own time.

She declared that it may happen in the next 10 years. Sanaipei was asked where she see’s herself in 10 years and responded:

Describe your life ten years from now

“Hopefully married. Let me just pout a disclaimer there. Marriage is not the ultimate goal in life let it be very very clear. I  think I get alot of that from the fans and they are like oh you should be married now you are old and it’s  sad, it saddens me because I’m thinking is that all that is in your mind? You’re  still living in that period of time? where have you heard that if you’re not married that you’re not successful? Its very sad. Again marriage is not my ultimate goal but it will be wonderful to be married to have somebody to take care of because apparently I hear husbands are your first born children. It’s alot to deal with and I want to be a mother of two. I’ve picked the number, trust me if they come out twins, I’m done”

I AM LIVING MY BEST LIFE NOW! Maina’s dream girl Sanaipei says as she turns 36

Revered musician Sanaipei Tande has always been Maina Kageni’s celebrity crush so much so that he even begged her to have his baby.

One can see why Mr. Kageni has always been so enamoured with the pretty singer and she turned 36-years-old recently.

The dark-skinned beauty shared a post on her Instagram page that revealed how blessed she was to be alive. The “Wangu” singer noted there was nothing wrong with growing old, describing it as a “gift”.

Sanaipei unlike most women who are afraid to state their age, boldly declared that she had turned 36 and was “super grateful”.

“A lot of the times people don’t want to embrace age but I am super grateful for my 36 years today and pray for many more years of life plus all the changes that come with growing older,” she wrote.

She added she was living her best life at the moment and truly blessed, adding that living and learning is a beautiful thing. The thespian also thanked those that wished her a happy birthday.

She added;

“It’s beautiful to live and learn and I can most certainly say I am living my best life now! I am truly blessed. Thank you for the birthday wishes!” Sanaipei added.

Earlier this year Maina asked the singer why she had refused to get his baby back in 2007, a fact that still gets his goat.

“She is glowing, so voluptuous anakaa poa, why did you refuse to have my baby? I gave you a proposition in 2007. I was ready to be giving you half a million shillings a month, a house kwanza a house in Lavington and anything you wanted. Do you even know my mum had told me that if I get a child she will give me that house of hers in Lavington?”

You were a pioneer, a fighter – Maina Kageni’s wonderful message to Lorna Irungu

Lorna Irungu died yesterday. The journalist was receiving treatment at The Karen Hospital for a COVID-19 infection when she passed on.

Classic105 host Maina Kageni was quick to eulogize Lorna who had had several kidney transplants and survived but as with many other Kenyans, Covid-19 had taken her down.

Maina’s heartwarming message is below;

You were a pioneer, performer, a fighter, a wife and a mother….. meeting you very early in my career had a huge impact on me and my understanding of this industry called Media…. you were already fighting for your life (against Lupus) when we met…. but through those struggles, you still found time to mentor, advise and guide me…. when you finally dove into radio, you created your own niche and kicked ass!!!! Communications was in your blood – on stage, on air, on screen and in corporate communications…. you reached the very top in whatever you did… and how you made me feel when I was looking for direction will stay with me forever…. however, in the end, it’s this new fight that we’re yet to understand that tripped you up….. rest in peace, Lorna…. and thank you…. for all the many things you meant to so many people… God speed…. one day, we shall find a way to win against COVID 19…. Goodbye my friend….

Lorna is to be laid to rest on Tuesday, March 23 in a private ceremony with only the family allowed to attend. She was the wife of Edwin Macharia and the two were blessed with a daughter, Nancy Mumbi Macharia.

Career history

The late co-hosted Omo-Pick-a-Box, a popular program many eagerly waited for every Sunday night on KBC back in the 90s.

The renowned radio host and TV girl was also serving as the Managing Director for the Gina Din Group at the time of her death.

Maina Kageni and Sanaipei Tande – The great “what if?” couple of our generation

13 years ago, Maina Kageni made the wildest proposal to Sanaipei Tande to have his baby. Unfortunately, she turned down Kenya’s most popular radio host.

Maina had wanted to have children and his ideal candidate was Sanaipei Tande, his workmate at the time for one silly reason.

Sanaipei was told by Maina that she would not work if she agreed to have his baby. Yes, he wanted her to stop working and he would financially support her.

The two met again last week and Mr. Kageni who has confessed for the longest time that Sanaipei was his crush re-ignited the topic that has long become a Classic105 pastime among listeners. He started out by praising her telling the former SEMA group how wonderful she looked.

The confession shocked Sanaipei who told him why she refused his baby mama idea.

“But you see Maina you told me If I never want to work a single day in my life, that was the proposition. But I am the type of person who has to work.”

Before she left the studio after the interview Maina gushed once more reminding Sanaipei that they have unfinished business, “Me I will call you later I talk to you about our little arrangement” to which Sanaipei half-heartedly agreed.

This whole back and forth has me thinking, “Could the arrangement have worked?”

Although Maina’s offer might be facetious, one wonders what could have been had Kenya’s most successful radio presenter gotten a child with one of Kenya’s hottest singers at the time?

That combination would have been perfect if you ask me, with the kids (you only hope for the best) becoming some of Kenya’s who is who?

We in the media would most likely be covering Maina and Sanaipe’s family the same way President Uhuru and Margaret Kenyatta and their family have become fodder for the media.

And the final question? Would their relationship have lasted this long? Most likely. Maina is a man who I can say is the lady-whisperer and his knowledge of the fairer s3x would have helped him navigate a wonderful relationship with Sana.

Also, Sana is a woman who has always been mature and forward-thinking-a trait that is important for any marriage to work long-term.

That it didn’t happen has robbed us of probably another Disney-esque relationship, Julie Gichuru style. But it still can. They have time!!! Maina make it happen! Sana please accept and give Kenyans something good to root that isn’t BBI…

I would have given you Sh500k a month – Maina tells Sanaipei about baby proposal

13 years ago, Maina Kageni made the wildest proposal to Sanaipei Tande to have his baby.

Sanaipei has been Maina Kageni’s crush for the longest time, and on Friday morning Sanaipei and B Classic joined him in studio on January 22nd, where he confessed just as much saying “my God Sana you are voluptuous, aki”.

The richest Radio Presenter wanted to have children and his ideal candidate was Sanaipei Tande, his workmate at the time.

But Sanaipei rejected his grand plans, and for one silly reason. Or maybe not silly according to her defense.

Sanaipei was told by Maina that she would not work if she agreed to have his baby. Yes, he wanted her to stop working and he would financially support her, like the rich man he is.

The confession shocked Sanaipei who told him why she refused his baby mama idea.

“But you see Maina you told me If I never want to work a single day in my life, that was the proposition. But I am the type of person who has to work.”

Before she left the studio after the interview Maina gushed once more and because he is not a man who gives up, he once again reminded Sanaipei that they have unfinished business.

“Me I will call you later I talk to you about our little arrangement”

To which Sanaipei somewhat agreed saying “revisit our arrangement”

So does this mean Maina Kageni is gearing up to be a dad this year? We wish the two lovebirds all the best, we Know Maina will spoil Sanaipei and their baby rotten.

To who? His ‘Chaguo la Moyo’ collaborator, Sanapei Tande. It comes out that the duo shares more than just being secular artistes, but also a  similar birth date.

On Sunday, Otile wished himself a lovely birthday before the curvy lass dropped a bomb. The singer had written, “It’s OB day .. Happy birthday to me . Lord I’m grateful 🙏 not a birthday person but wouldn’t do much even if i wanted to coz of RONA 😞”

‘I think I just decided to figure out who I am’ Sanaipei talks about her decision after breakup

Sanaipei is enjoying the single life seeing as she has been single for 6 years now.

Despite all the trolls and hate talk about her personal life and her body, she remains strong in her career and personality.

Sanaipei Tande was in a relationship with her ex Manga for 5 years  and when it ended Kenyans were in shock because the life they portrayed held the promise of a happily ever after.

Sanaipei in an interview once said the reason why they broke up was that she realized that she was not growing in the relationship. It was not adding value to her.

sanaipei

Its been a long time since they broke up and one would expect her to be in a new relationship especially considering the fact that she is a very gorgeous lady who clearly works hard for her money.

Sanaipei is not only a TV and radio personality, but she is also an actress in a hit series, Moyo which airs on Citizen TV. So yes she got herself together.

In an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, she was asked why all that beauty is not in a relationship. Her answer was simple:

I THINK I JUST DECIDED TO FIGURE OUT WHO I AM. I WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP FOR 5 YEARS AND WHEN I GOT OUT DIDN’T KNOW WHO I WAS. I DIDN’T KNOW WHERE I WAS GOING OR WHAT I WANTED.

sanaipeitande
Sometimes love can blind you and make you lose the sense of who you actually are. You would find yourself changing just so to make him/her happy.

I DATED MANGA FOR 5 YEARS. AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF IT I WAS LIKE ‘SANA YOU NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHERE YOUR LIFE IS GOING, WHO YOU WANT TO BE AND THE KIND OF THINGS YOU WANT IN YOUR LIFE

Most women who are fresh from a serious relationship would get a child who would distract them from the heartbreak of the previous relationship but not Sanaipei.

Adding, “When you’re getting married, you don’t tell the whole world. Ni kitu ya chini ya maji, haiongelewi. Pregnancy ni siri. Ndoa pia ni siri. Ni mambo ya kurealise it’s an intimate thing, for close family. I’ve always been private on that sector of my life. These things are not shared.”

Asked what people will think about her getting hitched to a man younger than her, Sanaipei, without missing a beat, said, “It is none of their business. People do what they want to do. Me, I’m not in anyone’s business, that is why it was a private affair.”

When called for comment, Sanaipei’s hubby, Otile Brown, insisted he is now a happily married man.

“Thank you for congratulating me. Cha muhimu ndani ya maisha yangu ni kwamba, yule mtu muhimu ni anayehusika, yupo na yametokea. (The important thing in my life right now is that the one I treasure is involved and the wedding ceremony took place.) I ain’t doing it for nobody. Nampenda [Sanaipei] kwa sababu yuko tofauti, she’s real.”

So how did he propose to Sana? “I don’t wanna talk about it. I like her; I just don’t want to go into details. Sitaki iende public.”

So, how was the engagement? “I don’t wanna talk about it. I like her, I just don’t want to go into details. Sitaki iende public.”

Otile’s response to having heartbroken his RnB loving female fans, the singer said, “Nimem-heart break nani sasa? Haya ni maisha yangu, mashabiki wangu wa muziki watakuwepo tu lakini wale walikua kwa nia zingine tofauti ambazo si za msingi nawaambia pole. ”

SWEET VOCALS AND BEAUTY! Sanaipei Tande Looks SIZZLING In These New Magnificent Photos

Sanaipei Tande is one of the most celebrated veteran singers in the Kenyan entertainment industry with her vocal prowess and smooth lyrics.

The elegant and mellow-voiced singer is known for Swahili hit songs like; Najuta, Ankula Huu, Mfalme Wa Mapenzi, Kwaheri featuring Jua Cali and Mulika Mwizi featuring Kidum.

The stunning singer, who also goes by the monicker Sana, has however been off the limelight for a while after she landed a radio job although she still performed karaoke shows.

Sanaipei Tande would later on, quit her radio show to get back to working on music full time and at the same time confusing men with her alluring body.

The sassy musician is making a major comeback and recently revealed that she was working on a new single . She dropped not just one, but two songs that are just soothing to the soul.

New music alert: Sanaipei Tande – ‘Ankula Huu’

Sana started out by dropping her first track two months ago, dubbed Amina and on the 2nd of March, then she debuted her newest song Simama Imara, which is an empowerment message for women to be bold, as she addresses individuals who make uninformed assumptions about others without using supporting facts.

Well, as she markets and publicizes the new song, she also shared a few dazzling photos from a recent photoshoot and I have to say, this lady looks as sexy and stunning as she did years back.
