Private pictures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding leaked

Private pictures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding have leaked online after their official photographer’s computer was hacked.

Snaps taken by aristocrat Alexi Lubomirski have started to appear on sites including Instagram and Twitter, following their wedding at Windsor Castle in May last year.

The incident has caused quite a stir at Kensington Palace, with officials reportedly launching an immediate probe to shut down the wedding pictures leak.

Only three official wedding photographs were released at the time of the wedding (one of which is pictured)

One of the three official wedding photographs release to the public and taken by Alexi Lubomirski. Many more were taken, and some have started being leaked online

He was alerted after his images were stolen by hackers, some of which included those of Harry and Meghan on their wedding day.

Mr Lubomirski also took the couple’s engagement photographs in December 2017. One of which is pictured here

They are said to include some which show Harry, 34, hugging Meghan, 37, with his eyes closed.

She is seen beaming for the camera in the picture.

Buckingham Palace and Mr Lubomirski’s agent have so far declined to comment.

Mr Lubomirski also took the couple’s engagement photographs in December 2017.

At the time, Mr Lubomirski – who has previously worked with photographer Mario Testino, a favourite of Prince William and Princess Diana – described taking the pictures in Berkshire as ‘an incredible honour’.

And when he was announced as the official wedding photographer, said: ‘I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion.

‘Having taken Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.’

And speaking after the event, he said: ‘It has been an incredible honour and privilege to document The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s inspiring journey of love, hope and family; from the engagement photos, all the way through to the official wedding and family portraits on Saturday. This has been a beautiful chapter in my career and life, that I will happily never forget’.

Another of the three official wedding photographs released to the public. Here the Duke and Duchess were pictured in Green Drawing Room, Windsor Castle with (left-to-right): Back row: Brian Mulroney, Remi Litt, Rylan Litt, Jasper Dyer, Prince George, Ivy Mulroney, John Mulroney Front row: Zalie Warren, Princess Charlotte and Florence van Cutsem

Only three official wedding photographs were eventually released.

The photographer has the title His Serene Highness Prince Alexi Lubomirski.

He is descended from an influential Polish family who received the hereditary title of prince of the Holy Roman Empire from Emperor Ferdinand III in the 17th century.

Mr Lubomirski, who was born in England but now lives in New York, was given his first camera aged 11 by his stepfather.

The hack comes just as Meghan is expected to make her first public appearance following the birth of her son Archie – at Trooping the Colour in London.

It has been suggested the new mother might join her husband Prince Harry and other senior royals including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the event marking the Queen’s official birthday.

If she does, Meghan will be following the lead of sister-in-law Kate, 36, who made an appearance at last year’s ceremony despite being on maternity leave with Louis.

The Duchess of Sussex carried out her last official engagements in March.

Royal Baby: Meghan Markle delivers baby boy

The Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a baby boy with her husband by her side after going into labour this morning. Her husband is thrilled.

It was amazing. Absolutely incredible. I’m so proud of my wife. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.

How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we’re both absolutely thrilled.

We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.

The name of the baby, which is seventh in line to the throne, will be announced at a later date.

The couple have maintained an element of secrecy around the arrangements for the birth, saying they will share news of their baby’s arrival “once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family”.

Members of the international press have been assembled in Windsor for several weeks awaiting news that the baby is on its way, with American television networks updating their viewers daily.

They will now be joined by excited members of the public and the British media, in the last few hours before the seventh-in-line to the throne is welcomed into the world.

The baby is understood to be around a week overdue, with the Duchess, who is 37, said to be “comfortable and content” as she waited in her new home at Frogmore Cottage with her husband and mother Doria Ragland by her side.

She is reported to have hoped for a home birth, as the couple emphasise their wish for total privacy for their new arrival.

That plan will change as medically necessary, sources have suggested, with overdue babies requiring careful monitoring for the safety of mother and child and contingency plans in place for any intervention needed.

The Duchess is reported to have chosen a female-led team to support her, with the Royal Household doctors on hand to help if necessary.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle planning to temporarily relocate to Africa

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex hope to take a six-month ‘secondment’ to Africa in the next few years, it was revealed last night.

Planning for the move is still in the ‘brainstorming’ stage, it was stressed, and there have been no formal discussions outside the palace walls, but one source described it as a ‘likely scenario’.

The revelation came as Harry joined other members of the Royal Family at church on Easter Sunday, which also marked the Queen’s 93rd birthday.

Reports of Harry and Meghan’s ‘Out of Africa’ project first surfaced yesterday in The Sunday Times, which quoted a source as saying that courtiers had drawn up plans to send the royal ‘rock stars’ abroad ‘for two to three years’, combining their jobs as Commonwealth ambassadors with charity work and a role promoting Britain.

It said the proposal would afford them a break from the divisions that have arisen between Harry and his brother William in recent months, while ‘harnessing’ the Sussexes’ global appeal.

The Daily Mail understands that while there have been tensions between the princes and their wives Kate and Meghan, the idea of a foreign sabbatical is something Harry has wanted to pursue for many years, focusing on issues around conservation, the environment and education.

It was also claimed that plans to make Harry a governor-general in somewhere such as Australia or Canada had already been rejected, but that William and his private secretary, Simon Case, were behind this new scheme to put some distance between himself and the globally popular Sussexes.

‘People are telling William, “Don’t worry. Your influence will grow and Harry’s will fade. This is peak Harry,” ‘ the source told The Sunday Times.

Sources claimed the Sussexes’ advisers are working on Harry and Meghan’s ‘bespoke’ African role with the help of Sir David Manning, a former ambassador to the US, and Lord Geidt, the Queen’s former private secretary who chairs the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.

Botswana – which Harry has previously described as his ‘second home’ – is one of the countries that has been suggested, as well as Malawi and South Africa.

It would almost certainly be a Commonwealth country as the Queen appointed her grandson one of its youth ambassadors last year and sees him as an important proponent of her legacy.

‘Some early conversations have taken place in a very informal way,’ a source revealed last night.

‘At the moment, this is very speculative. There haven’t been formal conversations with anyone from Commonwealth countries or governments.

But his team are starting to scope out a long-term planning strategy for the Sussexes and there is a good chance this is a scenario that could work.’

The pair recommended four charities which fans could support: the Lunchbox Fund, which works to provide a daily meal for impoverished children in South Africa.

Little Village HQ, which provides clothes for children under five; WellChild, which tries to get ill children out of hospital and back home; and Baby2Baby, which tries to provide necessities for children up to 12 years old.

Well the one thing that has been consistent with Meghan is her fashion.Even now that she is pregnant she is still looking so beautiful.

‘If I’m going to amp it up for night, then I use MAC. Teddy eyeliner, which is a really beautiful brown that has some gold in it.’

World celebrates Mandela’s 100th birthday five years after his death

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was and is still a world wide icon for his tireless efforts in fighting apartheid in South Africa.

The humble man born in July 18, 1918  and sadly breathed his last in December 5, 2013. Five years on he is still celebrated for his efforts to better South Africa.

That zeal and effort saw him jailed for 27 years from November 1962 until February 1990.

Dr Auma Obama: Sauti Kuu Foundation to open sports and resource centre in Siaya

Well as the world celebrates Mandela’s 100th birthday in his absence, SA President Cyril Ramaphosa said he would mark “Mandela 100” by donating half his salary to charity to honour “the great sacrifices he made and his tireless commitment to improving the lives of the most vulnerable.”

Former US President Barrack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama are in South Africa and in his speech on Tuesday, Obama said

“Let me tell you what I believe. I believe in Nelson Mandela’s vision, I believe in a vision shared by Gandhi and King, and Abraham Lincoln, I believe in a vision of equality and justice and freedom and multi-racial democracy built on the premise that all people are created equal and are endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights.”

His lecture, titled “Renewing the Mandela legacy and promoting active citizenship in a changing world,” tracked the transformation of the world, particularly in terms of race relations and human rights, over the past 100 years.

He went on to urge people to follow Madiba’s example

“We have to follow Madiba’s example of persistence and hope,it’s tempting right now to give in to cynicism. To believe that recent shifts in global politics are too powerful to push back. That the pendulum has swung permanently.

Just as people spoke about the triumph of democracy in the ’90s, now you’re hearing people talk about the end of democracy and the triumph of tribalism and the strong man. We have to resist that cynicism, because we’ve been through darker times.”

Just recently, a Nelson Mandela exhibition was opened to celebrate the late apartheid leader in a function attended by Prince Harry and the wife Meghan Markle.

The event was held at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and in attendance was Nelson Mandela’s grand daughter Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela.

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband the Duke of Sussex going to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela’s life at new London exhibition dedicated to his life.

The Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition celebrates Mandela’s life. It is jointly curated by the Apartheid Museum in South Africa, the British Anti-Apartheid Movement Archives and the Southbank Centre.

This is not the first time the Royal Family is celebrating Mandela. In 2015, Prince Harry visited the archives at the Nelson Mandela Foundation Centre of Memory in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Meghan Markle’s ex Cory to be a dad after girlfriend confirms pregnancy

Meghan Markle’s ex-boyfriend Cory Vitiello is a happy man after it emerged his girlfriend Martina Sorbara is expectant with their first child.

Meghan recently tied the knot with Prince Harry making her the Duchess of Sussex in a wedding that attracted international interest .Celebrity chef Cory Vitiello , and his girlfriend, singer Martina Sorbara, 39, are expecting a baby together.

According to Daily Mail Cory and Meghan dated until about three months before she met Prince Harry – whom she married in a beautiful ceremony on May 19, just weeks before news about her ex’s impending arrival was revealed.

This news comes just two days after it was revealed that Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson asked for his girlfriend, dietitian Tracey Kurland, to marry him.

The 41-year-old film producer and talent agent shared the news on his private Instagram account Friday with a picture with his smiling bride.

He captioned the photo: ‘Luckiest guy I know! Get ready to party!’

This will be Trevor’s second marriage after he wed Meghan in at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in September 2011. The pair remained together for two years before quietly separating in August 2013.

Meghan then started dating Cory shortly after her split with Trevor.

She was with the laid-back restaurateur – who bears a striking resemblance to Harry – for almost two years before he began to tire of her alleged ‘prima donna-like behavior’, a well-placed source told the Daily Mail.

When they went out for the evening or travelled together, she would embarrass Cory, 38, by announcing she starred in the US television series Suits, and asking for the best tables and seats.

The final straw came at a dinner party for friends, it is rumoured. When their guests praised the inventive main course of pasta interwoven with courgette spirals, Meghan claimed she had dreamed up the recipe when, in truth, Cory had created the dish.

Soon after this alleged episode their love-match, which some observers had believed would lead to the altar, was over.

Relatioship Goals: Prince Harry quits smoking as he prepares to start a family with Meghan

The inside story of their relationship, which began in 2014, the year after her divorce from film producer Trevor Engelson, and ended in spring 2016, has never been told – until now.

Cory was one of Canada’s most eligible bachelors, appearing on TV and dating some of the nation’s most high-profile women.

He and Meghan met when she dined with Suits cast members at The Harbord Room, the trendy Toronto restaurant he then owned.

They quickly fell in love, and according to his mother Joanne he began staying at Meghan’s rented town house near the restaurant. The chef’s mother describes them as ‘homebodies’ who avoided attending public events if possible and did their best to keep the romance private.

At Christmas 2015 Mrs Vitiello and her husband Gerry, a retired teacher, invited Meghan to spend Christmas at their detached home in Brantford, two hours’ drive from Toronto. ‘She had no airs or graces when she was with us,’ Mrs Vitiello said.

‘She was very interested in being with the people she was with. She had a good sense of humour, and she’s very personable. We certainly enjoyed the conversations we had with her. It was all lovely when we were with Meghan.’

Mrs Vitiello would not comment on whether she had expected to hear wedding bells, but said: ‘It was serious. They were living together in the house, and they were in their 30s, so they weren’t young kids.’

She said her son has never told her why they broke up, and she doesn’t see it as her place to ask.

Mrs Vitiello and Meghan remained in touch by text and email, and Meghan sent a message telling her she was dating someone else before the world learned she was romancing Harry.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle

Meghan didn’t reveal who that ‘someone’ was, but shortly before her relationship with Harry became public she asked permission to visit the chef’s parents. They were away so the meeting didn’t take place, but Mrs Vitiello has no doubt that Meghan had intended to tell them about Harry ‘out of respect’.

And as for the claim about the pasta recipe? ‘I have never heard that story,’ said Mrs Vitiello with a laugh.

Cory told the Mail before the royal wedding simply that Meghan was a ‘great girl’ and he was ‘proud of her’.

Police chief begs for more cash for armed officers to protect Harry and Meghan

Police are asking for more money to pay for 24/7 security at Prince Harry and Meghan’s new country home.

Armed officers are carrying out patrols around the £1.4million farmhouse property in the Cotswolds, and high-tech cameras and sensor equipment have also been placed around their new getaway.

Their 4,000 acre estate in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, has not been deemed a royal residence so does not receive extra funding that would entitle it extra protection.

Instead, the Thames Valley Police have been having to foot the bill for extra security on the 18th century farmhouse – as well as having to cope with two royal weddings this year.

Anthony Stansfeld, police and crime commissioner for Thames Valley, has asked the Home Office for extra money to help pay for the additional security, as well as for policing the royal wedding and other big events this year, the Daily Express reports.

Thames Valley Police have had to cope with making £99million savings and cutting 450 jobs since 2010-11 – but Mr Stansfeld is confident of securing extra funds to covers the new costs.

He said: ‘There is a way of paying for that and we will be recompensed. We have a large number of VVIPs living in the Thames Valley area, from ex-prime ministers to others. We get a special allowance for doing that.’

Stansfeld said he also wanted a grant to cover the costs of the royal wedding last month.

9 things Kenyan girls can learn about family members from Meghan Markle’s experience

From the salty half-sister to a drunken half brother, Meghan Markle’s story is relatable to many.

A list of what the family members of Duchess of Sussex said about her in the day leading up to the royal wedding upset many.

We were all caught in our feeling, blaming them for being jealous, but I believe it’s a similar experience Kenya women (though not marrying a Prince) have gone through.

They were all over the press saying controversial things about her.  A couple of relatives have revealed that they have not been invited to the royal wedding and have said that they haven’t seen Markle in years. Others have been open about their turbulent relationship with her.

But what can Kenyan women learn from this. This post on Facebook about living your best life has been shared severally and should inspire us. Read below.

The royal wedding happened and it was beautiful, yes i enjoyed it, nothing wrong with feeling joy over someone else happiness, its not seeking validation, I mean its not that deep. But that’s neither here nor there, just some pointers I feel should be more embraced.

1. Its okay to cut off toxic relatives, the homily blood is deeper than water, has entrenched knee deep in messy family relations that strangulation itself. How many of us have had our lights diffused because of them.

2. We don’t want to leave bad relationships because we are afraid of what people would say. Lol , Meghan out here with her dirty linen hung by her so called friends and relatives, but she still moved on . I mean they sold stories some of them false but did she die?

3. The trolling in these streets of single moms …..shwee, there is Meghan acclaimed actress, feminist , humanitarian , looks like shes a wonderful person the daughter of a single mom. Thats who she took to her wedding . Throw out the whole single moms children CANNOT narrative.

4. Divorce is not a death sentence, nyef nyef she’s a divorcee, there she is ……give life or even love a second chance . You never know …..look at Meghan living her best life now.

5. Imagine if Meghan had been watching War Room and reading fascinating Womanhood ……….

6. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re too old to get married , too old to walk down the aisle, that 5 years age gap is too much, blah blah…..Meghan just trashed that story on the full glare of the world

7. Meghan just held a blackity blackity black wedding …..Wakanda Forever. Did you hear that Black Bishop …yes tell em, or the choir ? or the Boy who made me fall in love with the cello, or the this little light of mine rendition, I swear I heard some ariririri somewhere. What am I saying even in the whitest of whiteness, Meghan was authentic enough to acknowledge her blackness, You don’t have to struggle to fit in , to prove anything . Start living your life.

8. Being broken doesn’t mean its over, if you give yourself a chance to heal and replenish, renew and refresh, guess what you can have it all even love.

9. People will always have something to say either negative or positive you alone have the power to rise above your circumstances, naysayers be damned.

Meghan wasn’t waiting for a prince to rescue her, nah she was already living her life. So go out there and live your best life NOW.

All the details of the Royals evening party

Harry and Meghan took to the floor with the funky soul classic Land of a Thousand Dances for their first dance at a spectacular royal wedding reception on Saturday night.

Comedian James Corden is reported to have launched a dance routine with Harry, his brother William and his father Charles, apparently refereeing a ‘dance-off’, while George Clooney danced with both Meghan and Kate.

The delighted guests also enjoyed an American-inspired game of beer pong, at which tennis star Serena Williams, perhaps not surprisingly, proved the champion player, after arriving in trainers.

The couple made the bold choice of the fast-paced Land of a Thousand Dances, by Wilson Pickett, as they took to the dance floor for the first time as the newly created Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It includes the lyrics ‘Do the Alligator’ and ‘Mash Potato’.

Soul singer Pickett, an Alabama native famed for his trademark screams, flaming delivery and flamboyant costumes, and enjoyed a long string of hits during the 1960s.

Corden, 39, who has enjoyed boozy nights out with Harry in Mayfair, provided entertainment at the exclusive after-party at Frogmore. A ‘worse-for-wear’ George Clooney was among the last to stagger off the dance floor.

The wedding reception was a star-studded occasion of Hollywood glamour that was hosted by Prince Charles, featured a house music DJ and concluded with a fireworks display outside an historic 17th century venue. There have even been claims that there was a DJ slot from wedding guest Idris Elba.

But missing from the day was Meghan’s father Thomas Markle – who was in Mexico after pulling out just days ago due to ill health – following an extraordinary week that saw in-fighting between her estranged family, her nephews turning up to London uninvited and her only relative at the wedding being her mother Doria Ragland.

Yesterday’s wedding reception is also said to have featured a ‘naughty’ speech from best man Prince William, an unknown ‘surprise’ from compere James Corden and a thanks from Meghan to the royals for welcoming her in.

Meghan giving a speech in itself was a break of tradition, with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011 only having speeches from Harry, Charles and Kate’s father Michael – but not the Duchess of Cambridge.

The dinner party at Frogmore House in Windsor Great Park came after a multi-cultural and US-influenced wedding featuring an astonishing host of Hollywood guests including George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey and the Beckhams – the likes of which Britain’s royals and the millions watching have never seen before.

Later on the reception Harry’s favourite house tracks ‘curated’ by DJ Sam Totolee, who also performed at Pippa Middleton’s wedding, and a ‘drinks of the world’ themed bar.

Also on the menu were candyfloss and ‘dirty burgers’ as midnight snacks, while one source reported a cocktail featuring ginger and rum was on the menu as a cheeky nod to Harry’s red hair, named ‘When Harry Met Meghan’.

The sit-down dinner was organic, sourced at the request of Prince Charles, and the light-bite canapes were themed ‘spring meets summer’. The meal, paid for by the Prince of Wales, ran from 7.30pm to around 10pm.

There were said to have been ‘naughty’ speeches from William and a joint effort from Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip and Tom Van Straubenzee. Meghan is also thought to have thanked the Royal Family for welcoming her in.

One guest said that Serena Williams ‘played beer pong like it was tennis’, while James Corden organised a dance-off after Harry and Meghan had started their dance with I Wanna Dance With Somebody, the Sun reports.

Some of the more senior royals such as Charles and Camilla are said to have said their goodbyes at around 11pm, while other guests stayed at the party as late as 1am.

And Clooney, who attended the wedding with his wife Amal and whose car was seen being held up by security on the way into Frogmore, danced with Meghan and Kate but was spurned by Sarah Ferguson, according to the Mirror.

Meghan, whose dog Guy apparently made the most of the food offerings by dashing around to pick up uneaten crumbs, is said to have announced: ‘I have found my prince’.

Guests are also understood to have returned to London late last night for an ‘after-after party’ at celebrity favourite Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone. Another party had been planned in a soundproofed private home in Chelsea.

In the afternoon, a grinning Harry is said to have turned to his guests, asking: ‘Can anyone play the piano?’ before Sir Elton John gave a moving medley of four hits – Your Song, Tiny Dancer, Circle Of Life and I’m Still Standing.

Revealed: Why Meghan and Harry will be forced to delay their honeymoon

Meghan’s big day may be behind her, but there’ll be little rest for Prince Harry‘s new wife – who is starting her official royal duties just days after the wedding.

The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make their first engagement as husband and wife on Tuesday at a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Prince Charles‘ 70th birthday.

Unlike previous royal couples – including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – Harry and Meghan have put their honeymoon on hold in order to hit the ground running when it comes to their duties.

The garden party on Tuesday, hosted by the Queen, will see guests from over 400 charities that the Prince of Wales is patron of.

The engagement will be Meghan’s first appearance at one of Her Majesty’s annual garden parties at Buckingham Palace.

It is also anticipated that Meghan will join the Queen at the Chelsea Flower Show this month.

Meanwhile, the newlyweds will undertake a couple of short overseas visits before the start of the summer, including a two-day visit to Dublin.

Harry is yet to visit Ireland but Meghan spent time in the country as an ambassador for the One Young World summit in 2014.

Meghan is also expected to hit the ground running when it comes to her charity work, becoming the fourth patron of the Royal Foundation set up by William, Harry and Kate.

Just Married! Harry and Meghan exchange rings as they marry in a star-studded ceremony

Meghan Markle has married Prince Harry in a modern and moving service that saw the newlyweds sharing tears, laughter and a passionate kiss in front of their thousands of adoring guests.

Harry was visibly emotional when he saw his bride for the first time in her simple but beautiful pure white dress and then grabbed his bride’s hand and told her: ‘You look amazing – I missed you’.

He also said ‘thank you, pa’ after his father Prince Charles walked her down the aisle of St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Serena Williamns

But the tears turned to laughter when the star made him giggle as they exchanged vows before being pronounced man and wife by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby in an extraordinarily moving ceremony watched by millions around the world.

Celebrity royalty including the Clooneys, the Beckhams, Idris Elba, Elton John and Oprah Winfrey are among some of the world’s biggest stars watching them marry.  Britain’s royals including the Queen and Prince Philip were also there to support them.

The service had a distinctly American feel with a US bishop delivering a passionate address that appeared to make some royals snigger and a gospel choir filling the chapel with music. But there was also much of the great British pageantry that royal fans around the world love.

Outside St George’s Chapel up to 100,000 fevered well-wishers have gathered in glorious British sunshine and cheered the couple as they started their new married life in the grand Ascot Landau carriage.

The newlyweds emerged from St George’s Chapel to loud cheers from the crowd.

Stopping at the top of the stone steps, the pair shared a kiss to the delight of onlookers.

The couple were waved off and watched by members of the royal family as they left in an open-top Ascot Landau for a carriage procession through Windsor.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the oldest children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, did not follow Harry and Meghan as they made their way back up the aisle.

Instead, the youngsters held their parents’ hands as they made their way out of the chapel.

Mike Tindall was seen rubbing heavily-pregnant wife Zara’s bump as the congregation waited for Harry and Meghan to sign their register.

Mr and Mrs Tindall are expecting their second child.

Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland smiled at the Prince of Wales and took his hand as they joined the newlyweds in one of the chapel’s transepts to privately record their marriage.

There was a hush around the chapel as the wedding ceremony began and the crowds listened intently as the Dean of Windsor, David Connor, started proceedings.

The silence was only broken by the rumble of aircraft passing overhead and the odd champagne cork popping.

The crowd in Horseshoe Cloister shouted a resounding ‘We will’ as the Archbishop of Canterbury posed the question inside St George’s Chapel as to whether the families and friends of Prince Harry and Meghan would support them in their marriage.

She’ll put a ring on it! Modern man Prince Harry will wear a wedding band after marrying Meghan Markle

Prince Harry will prove his credentials as a modern man when he dons a wedding ring after marrying Meghan Markle – something not all royal grooms have chosen to do.

Traditionally, men in the royal family have not worn a ring. But Harry will strike a different path.

Wedding rings worn by royal brides have historically made from Welsh Gold but very few men in the monarchy have chosen to put on a wedding band.

When the Duke of Cambridge married, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh and uncle the Duke of York.

They both chose to eschew the traditional symbol of marriage.

Royal brides are given wedding rings made from gold nuggets from Clogau St David’s mine at Bontddu in North Wales – and Ms Markle is expected to follow the tradition.

During the Giving Of The Rings part of the ceremony in St George’s Chapel tomorrow, Harry and Ms Markle will exchange bands.

This is set to occur after they hear the Archbishop of Canterbury describe the jewellery as ‘a symbol of unending love and faithfulness’ and a reminder of their vows.

Ms Markle will first receive her ring from Harry, who will say: ‘Meghan, I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage.

‘With my body I honour you, all that I am I give to you, and all that I have I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.’

When Harry receives his ring from Ms Markle, she will place the band on the fourth finger of his left hand, holding it there, before addressing him with the same words.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding ring, a plain, slim gold band, was made by royal warrant holders Wartski and fashioned from a nugget of Welsh gold given to William by his grandmother the Queen as a gift to mark his 2011 wedding.

The custom of men wearing wedding rings is said to be relatively recent and is believed to have started during the Second World War when servicemen wanted a memento to remind them of their partners back home.

Its popularity increased as the decades passed and as it became more fashionable for men to wear jewellery.

In contrast to other royal men, the Prince of Wales does wear a wedding band, under a signet ring on the little finger of his left hand.

There may be an element of social class at play for men who decide not to wear a wedding ring as those from the upper classes are said not to like jewellery.

Meghan Markle breaks her silence over royal wedding fiasco to confirm her dad will NOT be attending

Meghan Markle has confirmed that her father will not walk her down the aisle as it was claimed she is still ‘tearful and embarrassed’ on the eve of her royal wedding.

Thomas Markle is in hospital after heart surgery after he embarrassed his daughter by doing a cash deal for ‘staged’ paparazzi photographs.

After days of silence Meghan has been forced to make a personal statement to millions around the world and said: ‘Sadly my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health’.

She added: ‘I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday’.

Her poignant words came as thousands watched a wedding rehearsal in Windsor today.

Prince Harry’s bride-to-be, 36, has still only shared texts with Thomas Markle but has told him she loves him and forgives him for the scandal he caused on the eve of the biggest day of her life.

Her father is said to be ‘alone and upset’ in hospital after having three stents put in his heart.

The 73-year-old has spoken to TMZ journalist Sean Mandell from his bed overnight and he said: ‘Meghan was embarrassed and tearful in private. She is holding up, from what I’ve been told. It has been a tearful and a trying time for her’.

When asked if their relationship can recover he said: ‘I do get the sense he [Thomas] does want to be reunited with Meghan. She’s no stranger to having to deal with hard moments in her life’.

Mr Markle may not be discharged before his daughter’s wedding after he had three stents implanted in arteries following a heart attack at home in Mexico eight days ago.

He said: ‘It will take a long time to heal. I’m okay. Staying in the hospital a few more days. Not allowed to get excited’.

Mr Markle is highly unlikely to travel to the UK so his ex-wife Doria is set to give away their daughter at St George’s Chapel on Saturday.

Today a wedding rehearsal is planned in Windsor but Kensington Palace is yet to comment on the extraordinary turmoil in Meghan’s family.

Mr Mandell told Good Morning Britain: ‘She [Meghan] called him Monday when the story first broke. But he did not have his phone on him and then she text him saying she loved him, that she was concerned over his health and bore him no ill will over the controversy of the fake photos.

‘He [Thomas] told us we wanted to be there and had a change of heart on Tuesday after speaking with Meghan over text and he felt he had pulled out prematurely.

‘He had originally felt it would be better for him not to be at the wedding because it would cause further embarrassment, he thought, for the royal family, and for Meghan, which is the last thing he wanted.

‘He realised, I’m a father, and I want to be there for my daughter, and I want to be part of history.Ultimately his health prevented him from being able to do that.

‘But ultimately his health prevented him from doing that’.

He added: ‘Meghan is by all accounts is a very strong women. From what Thomas has told me there’s just love being conveyed there and a gentle approach between them when they speak.’

Meghan’s mother Doria was given VIP treatment when she landed at Heathrow yesterday and is expected to give her daughter away in her father’s absence.

Mr Markle said his doctors needed to ‘go in and clear blockage, repair damage, and put a stent where it is needed’ during the operation.

His daughter Samantha, who has a poor relationship with Meghan, claims her father is ‘upset and alone’ following his surgery.

But there is some confusion over his care as sources close to the Markle family told the Mail yesterday that Mr Markle had already been diagnosed with a heart condition and was due to undergo planned surgery to fit a stent, the same operation Prince Philip underwent in 2011, early next week – on his return from London.

Miss Markle’s nephew, Tyler Dooley, has said he hopes his grandfather will travel but said: ‘We’ll just have to wait and see.’
