Odanga was treated at the St Mary’s mission hospital in Mumias town and discharged. Malala condemned the attack which he blamed Jubilee.

“This is a primitive way of competing. These are signs that Jubilee has already sensed defeat and wants to resort to intimidating opponents but this will not dump our resolve to liberate Kenyans from the shackles of poor leadership by Jubilee,” he said on the phone.

The Sunday incident is the first to occur in Kakamega county since official campaigns begun on May 28. Malala asked the government to live to its word on a peaceful election in August.
