Michael Jackson paintings and images go on display at the National Portrait Gallery in the UK

An art exhibition of Michael Jackson’s paintings, images and other items go on display in London.

The display dubbed ‘On the Wall’ has been compiled by 48 different artists and seeks to pay homage to the original ‘King of Pop’ and his lasting legacy.

This exhibition is also meant to show how visual artists have used the image of one of music’s greatest showmen.

The 48 artists represented are still living, the exceptions being Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.

Michael Jackson: On the Wall exhibition opened Thursday 28 June and will go on until 21 October.

The exhibition also includes the final portrait commissioned by the singer, done by Andy Warhol before his death in 2009.

Michael Jackson: On the Wall runs at the National Portrait Gallery in London until 21 October. It then travels to Paris and Finland.
