MP’s daughter dumped over Dubai shopping demands

A popular city MP’s daughter is said to have been ditched by her boyfriend for demanding shopping worth Sh300,000. According to her close friend, the ‘spoilt’ kid in her early 20s is said to have made the demand to her ‘not so rich’ boyfriend to fly to Dubai to shop for her.

“Almost all his pals shop overseas because they are filthy rich. So she recently made a demand to him that he must also do the same and buy her expensive clothes and shoes. But since he is not yet in the same league with his friends, he felt no need to continue having her as his girlfriend,” said the source.

Imenti Central MP accused of rape

Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti is being accused of rape and brutally assaulting a female who was working with him. The woman alleges that the MP tricked her into thinking that they would be meeting to discuss business matters in his office on Saturday night, only to turn on her and rape her.

Mwiti has however denied the claims stating that office hours are between 8am-5pm and he did not meet the woman past the official hours as she claims. The 29-year old woman is now admitted at Nairobi Women’s Hospital and has filed a complaint with Parklands Police.

Kabete MP George Muchai and his security personnel shot dead

Kabete MP George Muchai has been shot dead at Kenyatta Avenue roundabout in Nairobi.

The MP and three others, including his driver and two bodyguards died during the 3am incident.

According to the St John Ambulance services who responded to a call of the incident, the unknown assailants were in a Toyota Probox with sealed number plates.

The attackers intercepted the MP’s car before opening fire and killing all the occupants of the MP’s vehicle.

Police have cordoned off the area to facilitate investigations into the attack.

 

Dagoretti MP says his life is in danger

Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has expressed fear that his life is in danger and there are people who have been sent to kill him.

Speaking at Lavington Secondary school on Sunday when he presided over the issuance of school bursary funds to the needy students and Uwezo fund to groups all totaling Sh18.2 Million, Arati said that several meetings have been held since last week with an aim of eliminating him.

He said that he reported the threats at Kilimani Police station and asked the Police to provide him with enough security.

“Since November last year when I released my bodyguard whom I had been assigned by the Inspector General of Police due to his personal problems, I have never been given a particular bodyguard I requested for and even a gun I applied for I have not been issued with”,said Arati.

The ODM MP added that the plot to kill him has been hatched by several sitting MPs and former MPs who fast held a meeting at the KICC and at Kenyatta University last week to hatch the plot to kill him and another meeting held on Saturday at a residence of former politician in Lavington.

The killers, according to Arati have been assigned a white saloon car whose registration number has been given to Police for investigation.

Arati said death threats will not cow him from serving his constituents and fighting for the massive land grabbing which is taking root in the country and in his constituency where several portion of land belonging to public school has been invaded by purported private developer

 

Moses Kuria to appear in court over hate speech

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria will appear before court Thursday to answer for hate speech charges on comments he made on social media. Kuria in his facebook posts associated a certain community in Kenya to some of the acts of terror rocked the country last year.

Moses Kuria who is out on a Sh5 million bail had been sued by Law Society of Kenya and has since offered a public apology although the case has not been withdrawn. Kenyans have felt that Kuria’s apology wasn’t sincere after he posted another post hours after he apologised that caused outrage on social media quoting what may be considered a controversial verse in the bible.

Kuria will appear before Senior Principal Magistrate Enock Cherono at Milimani Law Court.

MP threatens student for criticising CDF

A 23-year-old student of Moi University, Eldoret allegedly received death threats from Mt Elgon MP John Serut after accusing his CDF office of unfairly distributing funds to university students.

Martin Ndiwa said on Tuesday that Serut called and sent him messages at odd hours saying he can have his head for Sh100,000 “only”.

Ndiwa reportedly claimed on a social media page called ‘Sabaots online’ that Serut, in the allocation of the funds, favours some areas over others.

“I now totally fear for my life since I was threatened by my area Member of Parliament that he will send his men to come and crush me and take my head to his house or he was going to use my fellow colleagues to attack me at night,” he told a journalist in Bungoma.

The MP allegedly issued the threats in a telephone conversation with the student.

“Can you continue posting now if you are man enough. I’ll just blast you before the people. And if you think by talking I will give you bursary, there is no bursary,” different segments of the recording say.

“The legislature further said that maybe I should stay at Moi university till Satan comes or else he will get me,’’ the third year Actuarial Science student said.

Ndiwa said he is still being threatened despite reporting the matter to the police.

“I reported my case to Kesses police post, OB No. 10/18/09/2014 but no action was taken. I forwarded the case to the office of DPP North rift and DCIO Uasin Gishu but so far no action has been taken,” he said.

He urged Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko to intervene before it is too late.

Suna MP living without water

Suna East MP Junet Mohammed is a major critic of Migori Governor Okoth Obado is no news.

For close to three months now, the MP has had water to his house disconnected, even though it is only 300 metres from Obado’s official residence.

Water vendors have been seen taking water to Junet’s house when he is around.

Director in charge of Water, Peter Pesa, who lost to Junet in the 2013 general election and is son of former Migori MP John Pesa, was heard saying water will never be connected to Junet’s house.

The water is said to have been disconnected after Junet’s wife promised to help their neighbours get connected to piped water.

MP leaves documents in hotel room after redezvous

A member of parliament from the central province was enjoying himself at the Serena hotel with a beautiful lady.

The MP who is a first time law maker was so smitten he forgot his essential identification documents at the hotel.

The documents that include his parliamentary I.D and electronic card used at the parliament while voting or contributing. s.

The management of the hotel is now appealing to the Mheshimiwa to go and collect his personal effect.

MP injured after being beaten Eldoret

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has been injured after he was beaten up by police at a road block along the Eldoret-Nakuru road.

The incident has caused angry residents to block the highway causing a major traffic snirl up in the area.

The MP says he was stopped for over speeding but he tried to explain himself three officers forced one of them to enter his car.

A scuffle ensued during which the MP was injured on the chest and legs.

Police fired bullets as they tried to keep away angry crowds.

Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Mohammed and senior police officers are in the area to calm down the situation and reopen the busy highway.

I have not snatched anybody’s wife, Kabete MP says

Kabete MP George Muchai Tuesday denied stealing another man’s wife. Addressing a press conference yesterday, Muchai said the story is linked to the intrigues and illicit on-goings at the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU)

He said some people are using tricks and are “hell bent” on removing him as deputy secretary general. He cited the front page story in Citizen Weekly saying, “It is reported that I have snatched and am stuck with somebody’s wife and the ‘bitter husband’ is threatening to spill the beans and has allegedly given me one week to keep off or he will expose the illicit love including photographs taken,” Muchai said at his office.

He was with his wife Susan Muchai to whom he said he has been happily married to for 30 years. They have five children.

Muchai said the story will soon be tracked back to COTU and he is planning to sue those involved for defamation
