Woi!!! Fake 2017 Oscars Fiasco!

Wololo! It felt like deja vu why lie!

So the Oscars were being awarded Monday morning our time.

However that wasn’t the issue, what was – is the fact that the wrong film was called out for best picture! It reminded me of Steve Harvey messing up the miss Universe show in 2015.

SteveHarvey at 2015 Miss universe

La la land was initially awarded best picture and their team trooped on stage and began their acceptance speeches only to be stopped mid way.

A mistake was discovered and Moonlight was then declared best picture at the Oscars.

Hearth throb Mahershala Ali had earlier won the best supporting role for the movie Moonlight.

Viola Davies won best supporting actress for the movie Fences.

Lupita Nyongo’s Ugandan Red Carpet Inspiration At Cannes Festival

Lupita Nyong’o was once more slaying the red carpet at the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival Wednesday night. Lupita who attended the premiere of ‘La Tete Haute’ walked the red carpet in a Gucci grasshopper green dress and she did look stunning.

The women of Uganda also seemed to have inspired Lupita as she quoted them for influencing her choice of hairstyle on her social media pages after sharing the photo with the caption, ‘It’s ‪#‎GrasshopperGreen‬ for @festivaldecannes opening night. Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda’s women for the hair inspiration. ‪#‎NseneneSeason‬’.

Nsenene as used in Lupita’s hashtag is a Lugandan name for grasshopper. The insects are currently in season and are a cultural delicacy in Uganda. Lupita was in Kampala recently shooting her new movie, ‘Queen of Katwe’ and we can already guess why Uganda influenced her choice of outfit.

Check out her stunning photos below

Obi-Wax Kenobi: ‘Star Wars’ stars join London wax museum

Heroes and villains from a galaxy far, far away have flown into Madame Tussauds wax museum in London for a new “Star Wars” exhibition, which opens Saturday.

Darth Vader, Yoda, Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are among the 16 characters recreated in scenes from the six films so far in the saga.

Fans can immerse themselves in 11 scenes from the box office-busting movies.

The project has taken 180 artists around a year to complete and recreating the characters has provided some unusual challenges.

“In the case of Princess Leia, obviously there’s this famous bikini, it’s one of the most famous costumes in film history,” said principal sculptor Stephen Mansfield.

“We’ve faithfully recreated it.”

Hair insertion — real human hair is used — on a waxwork normally takes around six weeks.

However, hirsute Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca, memorably described as a “walking carpet” in the films, took 10 people six weeks to do — more than a thousand hours’ work.

Jabba the Hutt and the bikini-clad Leia are depicted in the slobbering gangster’s Tatooine palace, while Jedi master Yoda sits in the swamps of Dagobah.

“They’ve really tried to build a full swamp,” said James Burns, editor of Jedi News, Europe’s largest “Star Wars” fan site.

“As you walk in, the floor is soft, there’s smell, there’s fog, leaves around and it looks absolutely incredible,” he told AFP.

“It’s an amazing, immersive experience.”

– Make the jump to lightspeed –

Visitors can step into Luke Skywalker’s place in the scene where Darth Vader reveals he is Luke’s father.

Another scene is the lightsaber battle between Darth Maul and Jedis Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Fans can sit alongside Chewbacca in the Millennium Falcon cockpit and take the freighter to lightspeed, using audio-visual effects.

Visitors can also have a lightsaber duel with Anakin Skywalker.

Nearby, Han Solo slouches in a booth at the Mos Eisley Cantina with his boot up on a table.

“You can sit next to them and touch them. I’ve just had a drink with Han, it’s great!” said fan Paul Slim from Birmingham, central England, who won tickets to a sneak preview Tuesday.

“It’s like you’re in the movies,” he told AFP.

Senior sculptor Dave Burks said the team watched the films more than 10 times and worked with fans to get the minutiae correct.

“The smallest details to Darth Vader’s belt and what lights needs to come on at the right time and in what sequence; small things like that have been a real challenge to get absolutely right,” he said as lightsabers fizzed in the background.

The first film in a new trilogy, “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens”, featuring actors from the classic original trilogy, is due out in December.

Episode VIII is to be filmed in Britain.

The Magic Mike XXL trailer is out

Remember Magic Mike, the movie about a bunch of guys who earned their living by stripping? Well the XXL trailer for the sequel is out and as usual Channing Tatum doesn’t disappoint.

The movie is set to be released sometime in July this year.

The trailer starts by teasing and ladies you will still be drooling just like you did in the first show, but instead of having to explain watch for yourself here:

Slum dog millionaire co-stars talk about their split after a 6 year relationship

Co-stars and real life couple Dev Patel and Freida Pinto of the 2008 film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ broke up.

The split is said to have happened late last year, however the pair say that they will remain friends.

Speaking about it Freida said that life has its own share of surprises and dissapointments but they are all part of life.

She added that they have been best friends and that will never change.

Dev previously told ‘The Guardian’ that the two are still “incredibly close,” adding, “She’s just a really generous, patient human being who has been one of the most impactful people on my life. A lot of my motivation has come from her, from being with her and knowing her.”

DiCaprio takes lead role as eco-developer in Belize

Leonardo DiCaprio has long been known as something of an environmental activist. Now he is putting his money where his mouth is, building a multimillion-dollar eco-tourism resort designed to help transform a small island off the coast of Belize.

The actor, a keen scuba diver best known for roles in Titanic and The Wolf of Wall Street, bought the 42ha Blackadore Caye almost a decade ago with a partner for $1.75-million (about R20.5-million) after falling in love with Belize.

“It was like heaven on earth,” he told the New York Times. “And almost immediately, I found this opportunity to purchase an island there.”

Now he has unveiled plans for an ambitious resort of sprawling villas and infinity pools from where a small number of wealthy guests can watch the sun set.

He has teamed up with Paul Scialla, the chief executive of New York development firm Delos, for the environmentally friendly development, which is expected to open in 2018.

His “restorative island” blueprint envisages villas set atop a platform arcing through the water, along with artificial reefs to protect marine life. Marine grass will be grown in a nursery to support a manatee conservation area.

The aim is to reverse environmental damage that stems from overfishing, deforestation and an eroding coastline.

“The main focus is to do something that will change the world,” DiCaprio said.

“I couldn’t have gone to Belize and built on an island and done something like this if it weren’t for the idea that it could be ground-breaking in the environmental movement.”

The project will be well positioned to tap into the growing market for luxury eco holidays.

In order to stay, guests will be put through an ecology orientation programme, said the New York Times. And plastic bottles will not be allowed on the Central American island, located about 45 minutes by boat from Belize City.

But that does not mean visitors won’t be comfortable. Each of the 68 guest villas will have access to a few kilometres of secluded beach, according to the report. And although prices for a holiday have not yet been announced, some of the villas will be for sale at up to $15-million apiece.

“The goal was to create something that wasn’t contrived – a tiki hut or some image of a Hawaiian getaway – but rather the history of the place, the Mayan culture, with a more modern approach,” said Jason McLennan, the lead architect and designer. “We want to change the outlook of people who visit, on both the environment writ large and also their personal wellbeing.”

Jamie Dornan Isn’t Quitting Fifty Shades of Grey Sequel After All

Last week, Fifty Shades of Grey fans were distressed when Australian magazine MW exclusively reported that star Jamie Dornan was preparing to exit the franchise — a story that was quickly picked up and aggregated by gossip rags around the globe.

Today, in an utterly un-shocking turn of events, that unsourced and unconfirmed story has been proven false. In a statement issued to quell the rumors, Dornan’s P.R. team issued a statement clarifying that Dornan plans to star in the next installment, Fifty Shades Darker.

“Jamie is delighted that the film is breaking box office records worldwide,” said the statement. “And whilst the studio has not made any formal announcements about sequels, he is looking forward to making the next film.”

Though Fifty Shades Darker hasn’t formally been greenlit, Fifty Shades of Grey has grossed $411 million and counting on a $40 million budget — so yeah, that sequel would get made even if everybody quit.
