Eddie Butita has had the great year of 2019. I recently spoke to the comedian who was born and raised in Kariobangi. The man, whose comedic style of parodying the ghetto life in Africa, earned him many plaudits revealed that the year had lived up to his expectations professionally.
The man who is multi-talented with credits as an actor, scriptwriter, theatre director, emcee, theatre producer said the Campus Initiative that he had been involved with this year had been a success.
His biggest takeaway this year was that he should have taken more risks in his career , something that he would remedy in 2020. The comic also admitted that he didn’t look up to any comedian as he wanted to follow his own path. ‘I don’t look up to anyone. I look at myself cause I don’t want to be compared to anyone in the future,’ he said.
He also admitted that he wanted to delve into reality TV as Bahati and Diana Marua had in the past. The only thing he felt holding him back was that he didn’t want to be short of content when the show started.
We also delved into his rumoured romantic relationship with fellow entertainer Mammitto (which none have never commented about). The man refused to answer the question as his right.
I also asked the star when he would be getting married? He replied that he still felt like he too young to get married. Another reason was that he wanted to make more money before his big day.
One crucial and odd fact he mentioned to me was that he would get married during ‘a November’ in the future. Which year? He didn’t know. But that was the month he had settled on.
And what did the actor look for in a wife? He said that he wanted someone who could complement him and be understanding of the high-profile nature of his job.
