Mounting anger over the relationship between Juliani and Lilian Nganga spiraled over to twitter where all sorts of jabs were thrown at Juliani for dating ‘bibi ya mtu’. FYI she is not.
Someone took the time to analyze Kenyans anger over it, noting that it’s all because she is dating someone who is not as rich.
@MarigaThoithi on September 4th elicited mixed reaction by declaring
The main reason men are mad at the whole Juliani is because they’ve been taught that once you get the money and the power, you automatically get the women and many men still think they’re going to get to the top and they’re defending the future rich man they think they’ll beSmiling face with open mouth and cold sweat
His comments were supported by @iFortknox who noted
once you get money and power, you automatically get the women. no one teaches you this. you simply observe it and get on with the program if that’s your kind of thing.
Replying to this @MarigaThoithi
That’s the thing.. the Juliani situation makes no sense to people. It’s sort of the reason men are mad when women cheat but even more mad if they perceive them to cheat ‘ downwards’
Here’s debate about his observation.
They feel wronged. Because the win is not really a win if it can be taken away from you. However I would perhaps think that more people are actually happy with the way things are now.
It’s breaking the norm of wealth , status and it’s trappings
haha reverse hyper-gamy that is, but makes sense in terms of financial security to emotional security the latter was given but not the former
Cheating downwards- that’s a new term.
