Is singer Wahu going back to secular industry? She responds

Singer Wahu says she wants to create good music that will inspire people.

Wahu, who turned to the gospel industry in 2017, said she does not want to be defined as either a gospel or a secular artiste.

She told Massawe on Friday,

“I wanna create good content with happy and positive content.”

The mother of two added,

“When I look at the Bible, it is so colourful with different messages and, therefore, I want to create music that will inspire people with things I have experienced,” she said.

“From pain to happiness. I do not want to hang on titles but I believe in topics that I can relate with. I have been in a relationship for more than 20 years and so I can talk about that.”

‘I regret turning down other opportunities while at Machachari,’ actor Govi reveals

During a past interview on TV, Wahu explained that her journey to salvation has been off and on, citing discouragement from fellow Christians.

“Last year, now it has been about one year, is when I went through some issues and that catapulted me to go down on my knees and begin my search for God,” stated Wahu.

“What people think is not as important as what God thinks”, stated Wahu, pointing out that at the day of judgement, one faces God alone.

Together with her husband Nameless, they are promoting their new songs.

‘I broke down when I learnt that E-sir was dead’ – Nameless recounts

Nameless has been in the music industry for over 20 years now and yes, we cannot deny that he is surely an icon today.

He began his journey with the late E-sir though death took him away at a very young age.

It is more than a decade that Kenya’s fastest rising artists Issah Mmmari aka E-Sir, lost his life in a tragic road accident on March 16, 2003. He was on his way back to Nairobi from a concert at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru town, to help promote his debut album whose songs remain club bangers to-date. E-sir was an inspiration and a mentor to many and for that matter, the image of an evolving youth urban music culture.

This Is How Embarrassing It Was When Nameless Met His Wife’s Parents

He had done some collaborations with Nameless which includes Bumba, which will forever be in our history.

Well, Nameless recounted memories with his musical twin whom they had started ruling the airwaves with back then.

“I met E-sir in a splash after he had joined Ogopa and we became friends. We would do shows together and later sit down and talk about how the show was.

We would commute in a mathree, some people would hate and he would hear guys hating on our music style because of doing music differently, and he would later come and tell me, yoh these people are hating so much let’s come together and become  a power house.

‘I am living everyday like it is my last day’, Nameless pours out his heart

That is how Bumba and Maisha was born. Bumba worked well for us and till today, that has become my pillar and it always gives me energy to move on in my shows because it talks about what we used to talked about, the struggles and how we wanted to overcome these struggles.

When we started touring with E-sir, I was big in the music industry and so I always made sure that I was the one who fungaas the show to maintain the audience. He would start and I would finish the show then I would call him back to do Bumba.

Our last show with E-sir, we were in Nakuru. E-sir used to study the market so fast and adjust his writing.

I remember after some shows, he had become big and now he was the one who would even funga the show, that day he fungaad the show, and I came later to do Bumba.” Nameless narrated.

He talked about the accident;

“I did nor know from the time I was taken to hospital when it all happened , I was told he is in a different hospital. i had no phone.

My bro came from Nairobi, I asked everyone and no one told me, my brother is the one who told me “E-sir didn’t make it”, it did not sink in like you know you were with someone and then you are told they are no more, it could not sink in. I changed and entered in a car but when in, is when Bumba was played and I remember this is when I broke down and this is when it sank in. I cried and as I was hearing his song playing I felt like he was talking to me.

Moving on without him was hard for some moment, my wife always tells me that something in me changed. It took me back and I remember going to perform a song in his remembrance. I remember when performing, I still had an injury but getting on stage and the love I felt for E-sir just made me say that despite him going I had to keep the fire going.”

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Education trains you to be disciplined’, Nameless emphasize the need to have papers despite being talented(AUDIO)

For two decades now, music has been part of singer David Mathenge life, famously known as Nameless, to an extent we forget that he studied Architecture. He is a dad to two beautiful daughters too and a husband to songstress Wahu Kagwi

He is among the few educated singers in Kenya, and has always made a name for himself in the music industry more than in what he studied for at the University Of Nairobi.

Once in a while, he shares photos of himself in construction sites inspecting how work is flowing. One of the notable structures that can be attributed to Nameless is “The Hub Karen”, a massive structure in the leafy suburbs of Karen in Nairobi.

Well, during an exclusive interview with Classic 105 presenter Maina Kageni, he emphasized that despite being talented like he is, one is required to have papers.
Maina congratulated him for setting a good example and finding it necessary to graduate despite getting money of his own through music while still in school.
“I think even when I talk to my daughter, I tell her that the things you are doing now will matter in time and will help you in terms of discipline and have a logic thinking. You can be a musician and still go through education so long as you have self discipline. This is what I was trained in campus. I even talked to my parents and they were happy because I was earning and the school fees would be paid through my earning, but they told me, so long as your studies are not interfered with, then we have no problem.”
He also talked about the opportunities he missed just to focus on his education.
“Sometimes I would be offered good money, but I would be doing my school projects so, I would opt not to do it after all, I will have all the time after school. The  principle I use in architecture is the same I use with music even now. Lucky for me is that they are both Arts and I followed my passion.
You know what Maina, entertainment is very erratic you can be big today, tomorrow you are gone. You can not predict about your brand, scandals you will have tomorrow hence the need to have your papers with you.”

The star known for hits like Butterfly and Sinzia was saved by the quick action of Nonini. They were attending a board meeting for PRISK when he had a persistent headache that would not go away. He was rushed to hospital where doctors made the decision to admit him.

Well, he was discharged from hospital on Sunday.

The couple has taken it to their social media to open up about the experience, after he was discharged from hospital.

Nameless has narrated his whole experience in hospital while thanking fans for their prayers;

Lovely visits from my galz would always lift my spirits… I have finally been discharged from hospital and now I am recovering well at home. I want to thank you all for your prayers and concern..It’s important to clarify some details of what took me to hospital in the first place. Three weeks ago towards the end of a PRISK board meeting I was overcome by and extremely painful headache and neck pains. I knew this was not just any kind of headache and knew something was wrong because the pain was escalating at a very high rate. Thank God for my fellow directors Daddy Owen and Nonini who quickly dashed me to nearest hospital.. I did a CT scan and was diagnosed with a life threatening situation called subarachnoid hemorrhage. This means some small blood vessels in the brain had ruptured and blood had leaked into the area between the brain and tissue and that was what was causing the intense headache. After afew more tests my doctor realized that fortunately my condition didn’t need surgery. What I needed was to be closely monitored in HDU and given the right medication to allow the leaked blood to dissolve , the raptured vessels to heal and the pain to be controlled . After about 2 weeks I was sent to the ward for afew more days of monitoring and pain management. I then did some MRI test that showed that there was no more leaked blood in the brain and that I could be discharge with some medication. Doc however advises me not to do any strainous works or air travel for some weeks until I am fully recovered. So that is why I have had to cancel all my October shows including Churchill in showground this passed weekend and a US mini tour that was going to happen from 20th October till November 4th. For me I am just thankfull to be alive and well .That whole experience has made me see life in a whole new perspective. Thank you again for your prayers and best wishes. For now let me take it easy and follow doctors orders…#GodlovesMe

His wife Wahu Kagwi also shared a message

“Last Sunday my husband was discharged from hospital. Nyakio told everyone from the hospital security, to the nurses that she has come to take her daddy home! 😊😊. Joyful moment for all of us. Grateful for all your prayers and thanking God for His goodness. 1st peter 2:24- by His stripes we were healed”
