Almost a month since he was granted bail, Joseph Irungu alias, ‘Jowie’ is free at last.

His first words on his way home he said from a video by K24, said,

“I can’t talk right now, I am on my phone bana! I am just alive.” Joiwe

You could tell from the look on his face he was happy to be released. He was smiling and making calls to alert the real OG’s he is finally out.

At least now he can go home to his family and real friends who stood by him when he needed them most.

Jowie is now a single man after Jacque Maribe publicly dumped him after he threw a grand engagement party for her where her close friends attended.

These photos shed light on how Jowie is doing in prison

Joseph Irungu aka Jowie is currently cooling his heels at Kamiti Maximum Prison.

He has been behind bars since September last year. Jowie is the main suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Jowie seems to have adapted well to his new environment at Kamiti prison and he was captured on camera singing and dancing at the institution during the filming of Up Close with Betty Kyallo. Reverend Lucy Natasha often referred to as Oracle of God was the guest on Friday’s show.

Betty Kyallo, Rev Lucy Natasha and her team [Natasha hand of compassion] were visiting Kamiti for a charity event.

Speaking to Betty, the woman of God christened the s3xiest pastor in Kenya said,

Natasha hand of compassion is something I’ve been doing over time and it’s because I have a strong passion for just giving hope for people who feel rejected. Like where we’re going to Kamiti

These [prisoners] are the people that are on life sentence. Most of them that get out is just by presidential pardon. I always tell them to look at Kamiti not as a prison but as a college.

Natasha and her team spent two hours feeding the prisoners with the word of God and during praise and worship session, Jowie was captured on camera. Jowie looked happy. he was smiling as he talked to a fellow inmate. He was clapping and singing along to a song which goes like;

I have a father who’ll never ever fail me, Jesus is my father who’ll never ever fail me, rock of ages…

He was dressed in a prison uniform, which is grey in color. Below are the photos

Jowie is being charged alongside Citizen Tv’s journalist Jacque Maribe who is already out on bail.

Jacque Maribe’s friends express excitement over release: ‘The ghosts of bad luck are off your back’

Jacque Maribe’s family and friends are celebrating after she was released on 1 million shillings cash bail.

The mother of one and fiancé Jowie have been in remand since September 2018 after they were arrested.

Granting bail to Maribe, the judge considered several factors, key among them the need for her to go home and care for her four-year-old son given that should she be found guilty, she will be facing the death sentence. Secondly, the judge noted that although she was arrested 10 days after the murder of Monica Kimani, the journalist did not in any way try to interfere with evidence or witnesses.

However, he directed that she stops anchoring the news on Citizen TV pending the conclusion of her case. Other bail terms include:

Jacque Maribe must not make contact with any of the prosecution witnesses.

She shall not have a TV discussion relating to Monica Kimani’s death

Barred from going back to her house in Lang’ata

Well, friends of Jacque Maribe have come out to celebrate her release and below are some of their messages.

Senior Citizen TV political reporter Steve Letoo wrote;

@JACQUEMARIBE FINALLY THE GHOSTS OF BAD LUCK ARE OFF YOUR BACK – GLORY BE TO GOD. THIS IS YOUR GOLDEN MOMENT TO REFLECT WHAT YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH, THE AGONY AND DEEP PAIN, AWAY FROM YOUR SON ZAHARI WHO NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN TO HIM WHY YOU HAVE BEEN AWAY.. FOR US TODAY YOU HAVE CONQUERED THE EVIL LIKE DAVID AND THE GOLIATH. WE CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU IN PRAYERS AND HOPE THAT THE GOD YOU WORSHIP EVERY SINGLE DAY WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN.

The special reason why Jacque Maribe wants the court to release her

Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe is pleading with the court to release her on bail to enable her care for her four-year-old son.

On Monday, both Maribe and her fiance Jowie denied being involved in businesswoman Monica Kimani’s murder and are set to appear in court today again.

In an affidavit filed in court through lawyer Katwa Kigen, Maribe says she is innocent in the eyes of the law, was in the current mess because of her association with Jowie, who’s the main suspect in Monica’s murder.

She says she never knew Monica nor anyone known to her and it would be unfair to keep her in custody for more days.

In her affidavit, Maribe said that she

I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE MURDER, WAS NOT AT THE SCENE OF THE MURDER AND HAD NO KNOWLEDGE O (MONICA) OR ANY PERSON KNOWN TO HER. ANY ASSOCIATION ALLEGED AH\GAINST ME WITH THE MURDER IS WHOLLY WEAK CIRCUMSTANTIAL ASSOCIATION WITH JOWIE (JOSEPH IRUNGU).

Just like any other caring an loving mother, Maribe wants to go back home and be with her son, whom she has raised single-handedly since birth. In her affidavit, she goes on to say;

I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF A CHILD AGED FOUR WHO SOLELY DEPENDS ON ME FOR SOCIAL AND FINANCIAL UPKEEP. HE IS OF TENDER AGE AND WILL DEEPLY SUFFER IF I REMAIN IN CUSTODY UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE MURDER TRIAL WHICH MIGHT TAKE LONG. I PLEAD WITH THE COURT TO ALLOW ME BE AVAILABLE TO HIM.

The TV girl and Jowie have spent more than three weeks in custody and she swore that she has surrendered her house and phone to the police so that they can go on with the investigations and release her on bail.

She also says she is willing to surrender her passport to court.

THERE ARE NO COMPELLING REASONS WHATSOEVER THAT CAN DENY ME BOND. I’M A WELL-KNOWN TV JOURNALIST. MOST KENYANS ARE CONVERSANT WITH MY JOB AND CAN EASILY SPOT ME ANYWHERE; THEREFORE, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO JUMP BAIL.

Adding;

I HAVE SURRENDERED MYSELF, AVAILED MY CAR, HANDED OVER MY HOUSE, COOPERATED FOR DNA TESTS AND HANDED OVER MY PHONE WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY. I HAVE ALSO BEEN INTO CONTACT WITH ANY PROSECUTION WITNESSES TO WARRANT DENYING BAIL.

Photos of the woman who won Jowie’s heart before Jacque Maribe came along

Jowie Joe – real name Joe Irungu – has been causing a buzz in Kenya after being charged for the gruesome murder of 29-year-old Monicah Kimani whose body was dumped in a bathtub.

Jowie, the man who is now a suspect in one of the most gruesome murders we have witnessed this month, proposed to his TV presenter fiancée Jacque Maribe  in a fairy tale  proposal mid this year.

Well sources indicate that before the proposal Jowie Joe was in a relationship with one Maureen Kahehu, before moving on with Jacque Maribe. It is not clear why the two broke up.

Its also alleged that the suspect Jowie Joe was planning on marrying Maureen before ditching her for the reporter.

‘A friend cannot rape and kill,’ mourns Monicah Kimani’s dad over her brutal murder

A statement by Monicah Kimani’s father has left more questions than answers after hinting that she might have been raped

“Those who brutally cut short the life of my daughter disrespected God, who is the giver of life. Whoever did it was not her friend because a friend cannot rape and kill,”

He  further lauded police officers for arresting the suspect saying that his arrest will save many girls from torture. Adding that

“We prayed and God has answered our prayer. Irungu has many girlfriends and his arrest has saved them from being dehumanised,”

Below are the photos of the lady who was warming Joe Irungu’s bed before Jacque Maribe came along.
