Msicatch! Here are 5 Differences Between Uhuru Kenyatta’s Daughter-in-law And Your Annoying Girlfriends

So the other day I wrote an article about the first daughter-in-law Fiona Achola Ngobi Jomo and I was attacked left right and center especially on Twitter for referring to Achola as the future first lady.

Well, the I did not mean any harm. But what will happen if one-day Achola becomes the first lady? Will you withdraw your comments or you will crucify me again?

Anyway, Achola is a simple woman despite all the wealth. But some of you have been hating on her because she is too classy to be your girlfriend.
Anyway, here are the differences between Achola and your girlfriend.

1. Her dress code is very simple
They say simplicity is the ultimate sophistication and I agree with that. She is never on top of trendy fashion as some struggling lasses who dress ‘perfectly’ to please people.
Fashion never fades and Acholah/ understands that well.

2. Team natural

While your girlfriends are busy exchanging weaves every week, Achola is a natural woman. She prefers a simple life. She braids her hair. She has a unique hairstyle, mohawk which is easy to maintain. Achola also doesn’t apply make up or if she does, she applies very little, unlike your girlfriends who apply layers of heavy foundation that leave them looking like dead people who have just resurrected.

3. Doesn’t walk around with chokers

Nairobi girls will be the end of us. Most of them jump on trendy fashion without even knowing what to wear, where and when. We have seen many walk around with chokers that leave them looking like confused puppies.

4. Fake nails

Most of the so-called ‘classy’ city girls are so fake. From hair to toe, some of them walk around with fake bums just to leave Team Mafisi turning their heads. They will flock beauty parlors so as to have artificial nails fixed and later flaunt on Instagram videos and Snapchat.

5. She is not on social media

You are married to makanga/tout yet you give us sleepless nights. What about if you were married to a rich kid? Unlike your girlfriends who flood our timelines with hundreds of photos and videos from a road trip to Machakos or a retreat to Rongai, Achola is very mature and we haven’t seen her exhibit such bad peculiar behaviors. Achola hatusumbui Instagram with captions such as; ‘woke up like this, slaying, lipstick on fleek, penda wewe sana Jomo/Nina (in-law) etc.

6. Accepted a traditional Kikuyu wedding

If she was another lady, she would have asked for a million dollar wedding then leave you barely six months after marriage.

BABA WA TAIFA! Check Out Rare Pics Of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta From Back In The Day [PHOTOS]

It is interesting to note that founding father Jomo Kenyatta never knew the exact year of his birth—only that he was born sometime in the 1890s.

While many of us were nowhere near being born by the time of his death, it is always good to take a trip down memory lane whether or not we were around. Can you even try to imagine the world that existed before we were birthed?

From Kenya to the UK, these pics portray a part of the life of a Kenyan legend. It is even said that sometimes, he would walk around the streets of London wearing a leopard skin and carrying a spear to demonstrate he was an authentic representative of those who had sent him before changing into a Western suit for meetings with journalists and sympathetic intellectuals.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta are proud parents as their first born son, Jomo Kenyatta held his final traditional wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Achola Ngobi on Saturday, November 12.

The Itara happened at an invites ceremony at the family’s rural home Ichaweri village in Gatundu South, Kiambu county where Jomo Kenyatta and his simple but elegant fiancée family were all present, including former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

Achola Ngobi’s mother, Ms Ruth Ngobi, who is Defence Cabinet Secretary Rachel Omamo’s sister and their relatives were also at the colourful ceremony, as well as Kiambu Women Representative, Ann Nyokabi, who is also Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin.

The event was a great success as the couple were surrounded by their loved ones as they celebrated the last traditional wedding, looking very happy, ecstatic and warm around each other, despite their diverse ethical backgrounds.

Jomo is named after his grandfather who was the first president of Kenya and Achola’s grandfather was one of the most prolific politicians in the history of Kenya. Her father is Mr Richard Ngobi, born from a father from Murang’a and Ugandan mother.

The public and locals were also allowed to follow the event but at a separate compound where they watched the main ceremony on a huge screen as the family and visitors enjoyed the beautiful traditional wedding.

The Love Lives of Kenya’s Presidents

Kenya’s president’s have had their fair share of love stories. From the first polygamous president to a rather really private one with his love life. Here is a list of our president’s love stories. Seems like Kenya’s first president had the most interesting love story.

4. Jomo Kenyatta
The late Jomo Kenyatta was the first president of the republic of Kenya. He was a polygamous man and he had four wives. He married his first wife Grace Wahu in 1919, they bore two children Peter Muigai and Margret Kenyatta. He later married Edna Clarke as his second wife and they had one son Peter Magana. She died in England in 1995. After leaving Edna in Britain Jomo Kenyatta married his third wife Grace Wanjiku the daughter of Senior Chief Koinange. Wanjiku died in 1950 while giving birth to their daughter Jane Wambui who survived.

After Wanjiku’s death Jomo Kenyatta married his fourth and last wife Ngina Kenyatta famously known as Mama Ngina. They had four children Christine Wambui, Muhoho Kenyatta, Nyokabi Muthama and Kenya’s current President Uhuru Kenyatta.

2. Daniel Arap Moi
The second president of Kenya married Lena Moi who was initially named Helena Bommet in 1950. Together they bore eight children, five sons and three daughters. His three prominent sons are Jonathan, Philip and Gideon. Moi separated from his wife Lena in 1974 and she never appeared in the limelight again until her death in 1994.  Moi’s family life remained very private all through his reign in power. He never remarried after his wife’s death.

2. Mwai Kibaki
The third president of Kenya is married to Lucy Muthoni Kibaki. They have four children including Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagai, Tony Githinji and Judy Wanjiku. Kibaki was rumoured for a long time until to date of having a second spouse. He is alleged to have married through customary law another woman with whom he has one daughter. Kibaki has however publicly denied any links to the said woman who happens to be a politician. He famously called an urgent press conference at State House Nairobi in 2009 where he declared that he only has one wife.

1. Uhuru Kenyatta
Kenya’s fourth and current president is married to one Margret Kenyatta. They wed in 1991 after meeting her in Mombasa in 1978. They have three children together Ngina, Muhoho and Jomo. President Kenyatta and Margret will often be spotted in public functions exchanging what seems like a loving couple’s conversation. Rumors however hint that our first couple has had its fair share of ups and downs especially before Uhuru ventured into politics. Whether or not these rumors are based on fact or just how serious the marital troubles were is not known but we know we love those lovely couple moments between the president and the first lady.
