Assa Nyakundi has been a lawyer for years but the latest incidence of him shooting dead his 29 year old son has left  Kenyans wondering who this man is.

Here are things you need to know about Nyakundi.

1. He accidentally shot his son to death on Sunday 17th/March/ 2019

According to police reports Nyakundi was driving home with his 29-year-old son Joseph, who was seated in the back seat when he accidentally shot him in the chest.

According to the him they were approaching their house in Muthaiga at about 1 pm when they stopped to change the position of his pistol from a pouch in the car to a holster, it discharged a bullet hitting his son in the chest.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Agha Khan hospital.

2. He has been defending Nyeri Senior Resident Magistrate Pauline Chesang

Chesang  is charged with the murder of her husband and lawyer Robert Chesang in Lukenya, Machakos County.

3. Nyakundi is also representing a number of suspects in the National Youth Service II case.

4. In 2015, the lawyer also represented Pastor Ng’ang’a of the Neno Evangelism Ministries.

Nganga  was at the time facing charges in a case involving an accident on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at Manguo that led to the death of one person.

The televangelist denied the charges of causing death by careless driving, failing to report an accident, giving false information and conspiring to defeat justice.

Ng’ang’a was cleared of the charge of causing death by dangerous driving in 2018.

5. He lives in Muthaiga North Parkside, house number 5

6. Nyakundi, 60, is currently admitted at Nairobi hospital under police guard after he developed hypertension complications while in police custody.

The body of his son is still at the Aga Khan Mortuary awaiting a postmortem.

James Ng’ang’a to be arraigned in court today for threatening Linus Kaikai

Controversial pastor Apostle James Nga’ng’a was arrested yesterday over threats to journalist Linus Kaikai after the latter called out ‘Church leaders’.

He is to be arraigned in court today.

In a viral video released last week, the pastor, dressed in military-like fatigue and calling himself a “Chief General Commander” threatened unexplained “consequences” believed to be directed at Kaikai.

Kaikai, who is a panelist in one of a news show, News Gang, went viral with his take seeking to regulate pastors he referred to as spiritual fraudsters and are profiting off unsuspecting Kenyans.

This prompted Ng’ang’a to shoot his video with the attacks on Kaikai.

Pastor Ng’ang’a was not impressed and responded  swiftly to the dismay of many.

“As a news anchor, why are you saying that? Are all your brother’s educated? Has everyone in your village gotten top notch education?

I thank those who do not know how to read because we will not need degrees to go to heaven .

Kenyans mourn the death of reformed street boy Patrick Hinga

Pastor Nganga is not new to controversy last year he was accused of causing the death of a woman in a fatal car crash.

On July 26, 2015 at about 5.45PM along the Naivasha/Nairobi road at Manguo area in Limuru sub-county, he caused the death of one Mercy Njeri through dangerous driving.

The pastor was also accused of failing to report an accident and giving false information to a police officer.

Ng’ang’a also faced a fourth count of conspiring to defeat justice and denied all the charges.

The rise of street preacher James Ng’ang’a to popular televangelist- photos

Pastor James Ng’ang’a’s life has not alaways been so prestigious. The Neno Evangelism televangelist rose from humble beginnings as a street preacher in Mombasa after being released from jail in late 1990s.

Ng’ang’a who served an 8-year jail term at Shimo la Tewa prison began preaching in the streets and cycling from place to place selling bible merchandise and preaching in open air crusades. He had been arrested for robbery with violence and had previously served time at Kamiti and Naivasha prison.

Pastor Ng’ang’a has not kept it a secret to his congregation that he served 21-years in jail cumulatively. Pastor James Ng’ang’a has been linked to an accident on July 26th that left one woman dead and her husband seriously injured. He was released Friday evening on Sh500,000 bail after spending two nights in police custody.
