Senator Moses Wetangula, Senate Minority Leader, Ford Kenya Party Leader and Nasa Co-principal mourned Nkaissery with this message;

I join the rest of Kenya in mourning the death of a statesman, a patriot, a respected leader, a neighbour and my good personal friend Hon Joseph Nkaissery.

Nkaissery was a man with a good heart, he never carried grudges and made friends across the political divide with ease.

Gen Nkaissery was a consummate soldier who easily transitioned into a skilful politician and spoke his mind openly.

He will be specifically remembered for his contribution in bringing about security in the country after taking over the Interior Ministry from Hon Joseph ole Lenku.

With the firmness of a soldier, Nkaissery made changes in the security docket that saw a decline in the wave of terrorist attacks in the country.

Even as he passes on, it’s without doubt that Hon Joseph Nkaissery has left an indelible mark on the political landscape in Kenya.

As a County, we have lost one of the most illustrious soldiers who even at his advanced age, still worked longwith days and nights to ensure that we are all safe.

We will miss his experience as a leader and a friend. To his immediate family, I convey my deepest sympathies. I pray that you bear the pain of his passing with fortitude.

To friends and associates, I share in your grief. To the Maa community, I send my heartifelt condolences.
