‘It is easier for me!’ Akothee announces plans to switch to gospel

Musician Akothee has announced that she is seriously considering jumping in to gospel industry.

Akothee who recently released her first gospel song dubbed ‘Baraka’ featuring Linex, has given reasons why she might actually end up ditching secular music.

According to her, gospel industry is quite easy compared to secular since she believes the industry is full of back stabbers and now it’s every man for themselves.

This music industry is a mess, it is messy, noisy with casualties and victims. Said Akothee at an event in K.I.C.C on Wednesday evening.

She added;

I am saying this because you are talking to someone today and you don’t know whether they are your enemy or your supporter. We don’t have cheer leaders in this industry we have killers of talents and it is very painful.

Akothee stated that her biggest pain is that Kenyans at large, have forgotten to cheer and applause their own artists and instead wholeheartedly consuming anything that comes in.

She says that gospel artists have it easy since they don’t struggle for applause when performing in churches and for that, she is ready to join the bandwagon.

What pains me most is that we  have forgotten to applause and cheer our artists and we embrace what is coming from out there. A song which is a flop in other countries is a hit in Kenya.

I applause gospel artists because you don’t need to applause for yourself because everyone needs Jesus so Church is already full.

That is why I want to jump onto gospel because it is easy for me. Everyone needs Jesus! She added amid applause.

Recently, madam boss shocked many when she revealed that she has decided to give her life to Christ and interestingly, she actually prays naked.

I am a God-fearing woman and I actually pray naked.

From the time I came from Turkana, I got saved and that is why you have been seeing me do gospel every morning.

I am not changing my dress-code because I came out of my mother’s womb naked. My daddy is my number one fan after my mum resisted for years, she finally joined.

I thank God for my supportive parents.

‘Why I Am Alone This Valentine’s Day,’ Gospel Star Mbuvi Explains

Valentine’s Day is a day for all those love birds who make the single people cringe. Thus it is probably the worst time to be alone as you watch everyone else couple up, but for renown gospel artiste, Mbuvi, he really has no choice.

It seems Mbuvi will be spending his Valentine’s all alone. The star was linked to the gorgeous Kambua before she was stolen away from the life of singlehood by, Pastor Jackson Mathu.

Drama Free! Top 10 Kenyan Gospel Artistes Who Have Managed To Keep Scandals Away

So, is the Kwata Kawire singer single and available? Has he found someone to warm his bed? Why is he spending Valentine’s all alone?

Mbuvi explained,

“NO I AM NOT AVAILABLE. I AM ACTUALLY DATING SOMEONE, BUT WE HAVE AGREED TO KEEP IT ON THE DOWN LOW. UNFORTUNATELY THIS VALENTINES I AM WORKING, I’LL BE MAKING A CELEBRITY APPEARANCE AT THE AFTER 40 HOTEL IN TOWN SO I CAN’T TAKE MY BABY ALONG.”

Being a celeb comes with its own issues, while regular people flaunt their bae’s with no second thought celebs have to think twice.

Exposing your significant other to the drama of publicity and constant attention from fans can cause serious issues in the relationship.

Though some celebs choose to go public with their relationships, Mbuvi has chosen to keep private things private.

He says:

“THE DINE WITH THE STAR’S CAMPAIGN THAT I AM HEADLINING WILL HAVE A LOT OF MEDIA ATTENTION SO I CAN’T COME WITH MY GIRLFRIEND. I GUESS THIS VALENTINE I WILL HAVE TO FLY SOLO.”

Mary Mary Singer, Tina Campbell Shot Up Cheating Husband’s Car

Tina Campbell, known to the world as one-half of the gospel-and-blues duo Mary Mary–”Shackles,” “God In Me”–stars in Mary Mary, a We TV reality show that highlights the personal life of the gospel star, along with her husband Terry Campbell, and the other half of Mary Mary, Tina’s sister Erika-Atkins Campbell.

In the trailer for the 4th season of the show, a major moment came when the clip revealed Terry Campbell’s trashed car, which was reportedly a product of a fit of Tina Campbell’s rage, which came after Terry admitted to having several extra-marital affairs.

“We had some days that were really bad, and the car is a clear indication of a very bad day. It was my car and she thought I could have been riding around town with another women in the car, which wasn’t the case. My wife in her pain wanted to hurt me.”

It was VladTV that reported that the true story behind the trashed vehicle is that Tina took a gun to the car in her anger, and literally unloaded on the car’s windshield and body. No one was inside the car at the time.

After 19 Years: “Get a Room!” by Kirk Franklin

Tomorrow will be my nineteenth wedding anniversary. I know…I look like I’m twenty-two; in my mind. But nineteen years ago, I asked the girl that blew my mind the first time I saw her at a swim party when I was eighteen to marry me. Now, I had no idea of the huge weight of seriousness in that request; no one does at the time, but I can tell you, the man, the music, and my ministry would be dead on arrival if I would have never asked the girl of my dreams to marry me. It takes a lot for a man to fall in love, it takes even more for him to STAY in love.

He’s right. Like some of you, I never saw a healthy loving marriage coming up as a kid. I never saw dads with their kids in the park playing catch, or homes where my friends’ moms and dads were together in the living room snuggled up by the fireplace. Many of us got our sex education and love lessons from the neighborhood pimps and players. Everything was sensual, selfish, and never sacrificial. The only blueprint I had was Cliff and Claire Huxtable on NBC; Thursday nights at 8 pm, 7 pm central.

I remember the faces of married men in restaurants. They always looked bored, like they wanted to cut their wrist under the table. It just looked lifeless to me as a young man. And no matter how great I thought it was to be single or have a few girlfriends, I knew deep down that the loneliness I felt after I walked through the door of my apartment, or a night of living contrary to my spiritual convictions, there had to be something deeper than this.

I love being married to her. And the fear of a lifeless boring life with no fun and youthful fire was a life that had to be created by the both of us. See, men don’t want to adjust, to bend, to die. That’s the word; die. Not in some dreadful dark cloud type of way, but to take the focus off of yourself and realize that you’re not the best YOU that you can be until you find that soulmate that ignites that better you.

Tammy was patient with me. Her family background was better than mine. She had a mom and dad in the house. She saw love modeled. I didn’t. She didn’t give up on me. She knew I was crazy, and she was my medication. She calmed me. She made the noise quiet. And she didn’t beat me up for what I wasn’t.

Ladies, that is so important. We get that enough from the world. That beat up feeling is universal to every man no matter your socio-economic condition. So we need a light; a beacon; someone to say “Get up. Fight.” Tammy did that.

Has the marriage had days I wanted to walk away, quit, leave? But not from her. From me. Remember, I was selfish. So selfish. I’m so grateful God canceled my stupidity. I want to be married forever. I never want to embarrass my wife by ever cheating and breaking her trust. Embarrassing the Lord, my children, or ever be in a restaurant across from another young man thinking about marriage and see an unloving couple.

I want the next Young Kirk to come to our home, see us kissing and snuggling by the fireplace, flirting in the corner at the restaurant, stealing a little kiss in the park until that future single Young Kirk considering marriage yells out:

“Get a room!”

Gospel artist grateful to philanthropic Kenyans

Gospel songtress Shiru Wa GP is grateful to her fans as they helped her raise more than 4.5 million in two hours, during a live morning show on a local radio station on Tuesday.

The drive was aimed at assisting the Agiginyani hit-singer foot medical bills. A fortnight ago, Shiru lost her one-and-a-half-month-old baby boy, while his twin sister is still in the nursery at MP Shah hospital after being born two months premature.

“After the delivery, I got a chest infection, I was admitted at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital where I have been receiving treatment. I am now out of danger, although I am still taking medication. My complications have left me with a huge medical bill, plus my little girl is still in hospital,” she said.

“The babies were born two months early and the girl was under-weight and had to be placed in an incubator. It has been rough for my family and I but we’ve had so much support from friends and fans. I lack enough words to thank them for their support. I have kept myself strong and God has not abandoned me,” she added.

Funds to assist the artiste, who is known for her other hit songs including Laleiyo (with L-Jay Maasai) and Nikuri Ngai (There’s God), are being received through Safaricom’s paybill number 316975.

Rose Muhando Condems Facebook and Twitter Users in New Song

Gospel heavyweight, Rose Muhando, has decided to take on Social media users in her latest song ‘facebook’.

The Tanzanian singer took a road no other artist has trod; she strongly rebukes facebook and twitter users, highlighting the vices that the sites have visited upon this generation.

“Facebook and twitter have become the modern age ‘god’ acting as the world’s sovereign King.” she claims in the song’s opening lines.

Muhando hits out at the youth as being the heavily affected; from accessing the social sites in worship areas to having their lives centered around facebook and twitter.

She claims that ‘chating’ has replaced seeking God’s face, with drivers and students also making their phones the main priority, hence affecting even education.
