If you suspect that your spouse is cheating or just  want to know where they hang out just check their phone.

If your partner has an android phone and uses gmail, it is possible to tell where they have been in the past 24 hours or even a month.

However to be able to access this information you will need their google password.

Once you log in go to maps.google.com, then maps.google.com/locationhistory .

This will show the  venues/stops that have been made within the past 24 hours to 30 days depending on what you want to know.

Remember that this information is only available  if you have a gmail account and if your location services are tuned on.

Location history will then be  automatically  tuned on.

You may also use maps to check the name of a venue you went to but might have forgotten the name.

Chinese access to Gmail cut, regulators blamed

Chinese access to Google Inc.’s email service has been blocked amid government efforts to limit or possibly ban access to the U.S. company’s services, which are popular among Chinese seeking to avoid government monitoring.

Data from Google’s Transparency Report show online traffic from China to Gmail fell precipitously on Friday and dropped to nearly zero on Saturday, although there was a tiny pickup on Monday.

Taj Meadows, a spokesman for Google Asia Pacific, said Google has checked its email service and “there’s nothing technically wrong on our end.”

In a Tuesday editorial, the Chinese Communist Party-run Global Times newspaper raised the possibility, without confirmation, that the government had cut access to Gmail.

“If the China side indeed blocked Gmail, the decision must have been prompted by newly emerged security reasons,” the editorial read. “If that is the case, Gmail users need to accept the reality of Gmail being suspended in China. But we hope it is not the case.”

Earl Zmijewski, vice president of data analytics at U.S.-based Internet analysis firm Dyn Research, said his tests showed that China’s government had blocked Google IP addresses in Hong Kong used by people on the mainland to access Gmail services.

Calls to the government regulator, the China Internet Information Office, were unanswered Monday. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said she did not know about any blockage.

5 million Gmail passwords and user names leaked

In what appears to be an unknown attack, hackers have dumped over 5,000,000 valid gmail username and passwords on the Internet early Wednesday morning.

Unknown hackers have leaked over five million valid credentials pertaining to Google Mail logins early this morning. The random dump of passwords first appeared on reddit’s netsec section linking to the another website hosting the leaked gmail accounts.

The .txt file of all leaked gmail usernames was found on BitCoin security (forum in Russian), where the leak is believed to be first offloaded. The file of leaked emails does not contain any passwords or other sensitive information, only full gmail email addresses.

Gmail smartphone app hacked by researchers

US researchers say they have been able to hack into Gmail accounts with a 92% success rate by exploiting a weakness in smartphone memory.

The researchers were able to gain access to a number of apps, including Gmail, by disguising malicious software as another downloaded app.

Gmail was among the easiest to access from the popular apps tested.

The hack was tested on an Android phone, but the researchers believe it could work on other operating systems.

A Google spokeswoman said the technology giant welcomed the research. “Third-party research is one of the ways Android is made stronger and more secure,” she said.
