High court issues second order barring Muthama from evicting his wife

High court Judge William Musyoka on Friday directed Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama not to evict his estranged wife Agnes Kavindu from their home in Mua.

In her suit Kavindu says the senator has made several attempts to remove her from the house despite a previous court order.

She is seeking the courts intervention to stop Muthama from harassing her and to also compel the senator to restore electricity and water to the home.

Muthama’s wife in court to stop eviction

The first wife of Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has moved to court seeking an urgent order to stop her eviction from their matrimonial home in Mua.

Agnes Kavindu on Thursday asked the court to intervene and stop further harassment against her so that she is able to enjoy her peace.

Kavindu, through lawyer Judith Thongori, informed Judge William Musyoka of the Family Division of the High Court in Nairobi that the senator has in the recent past made several attempts to remove her from the house, despite a court order stopping the move.

Also sought is an order to have the senator restore electricity and water to the house.

High court orders state to pay judge 880 million Kenya shillings

The High court has ordered the state to pay retired Judge Benna Lutta 880 Million Kenya Shillings as damages for compensation for forceful eviction in 1983.

Justice Isaac lenaola awarded him the amount after the retired judge moved to Court to contest his eviction . He was forcefully evicted from his 1700 Acre Farm after it was acquired for Public Use.
