Media personality and former Citizen TV employee has opened up on why she left TV.
Janet hosted prime time news with Hussein Mohammed which mainly was about politics.
She quit when the 2017 general elections was approaching.
Speaking in a recent interview, Janet says she did not feel challenged as she had covered another election.
“I did not want to be part of the reporting. I had been doing this for nine years. There was something about that election that made me want to be part of it and I felt like, I could not give it my all,” she said.

She added;

“My heart did not want it because it was the same thing and I knew I will not be challenged. The election had the same candidate. Lemmi maybe wait for another election cycle to find my passion again. I was so honest,” she said.
She also stated that despite news anchoring being one of her greatest blessing in life, it is time consuming and she was beginning to feel fatigued.
Coincidentally, she had many lucrative opportunities away from the screen coming her way.
“My son was one and a half and I wanted to spend more time with him,” she said.
Janet, who at the time was expecting her second baby revealed that six months towards her resignation, she felt she needed to quit and follow her passions like empowering girls, authoring or public speaking.
Today, Janet runs her own passion project, Inua Dada that deals with helping girls and women on their various issues.
She made sure she used and has been using her public profile to create awareness and to help make changes in people’s lives.
