Worshipers shocked to find man living in their church in Murang’a

There was shock in Gaitega AIPCA church in Kahuro subcounty, Murang’a County after church goers found a man living inside the church.

The faithfuls discovered that the unknown man was living in their church on Saturday evening when a group of them went to clean it in preparation for the Sunday service.

The group was shocked to find that keys to the church were not where they are usually kept yet the church was locked.

They went in using a window only to find the church dirty and disorganized, and informed the leadership of the church.

According to Stephen Kigo, church leaders immediately made their way there to assess the situation and determine the next course of action.

“We were so shocked to find that someone had made our church his home,” Kigo said.

The man, Kigo said, had broken into the church and into the vestry which he had converted into a bedroom.

He had laid a mattress on the floor of the vestry and used three stones and church utensils for his cooking.

“This man used Holy Communion cups and trays to cook matoke that he may have stolen from the neighborhood,” the faithful said.

He also used candles used for Sunday services for his lighting and wore clothes worn by church youths to perform, clothes worn by priests and church covers.

Feathers found near his cooking area indicated that he may have also been feeding on birds.

Kigo said a group of church leaders and faithful stayed in the church overnight on Saturday waiting for the man to return but he did not.

“We thought he would come back because his mattress was still lying on the floor in the vestry and he had gone with the keys,” he said.

Monicah Wanjiku, another faithful, said the church will be praying for the culprit to comprehend the essence of a house of worship and respect it.

“This man had misused clothes and items used in worship with disregard which shows he does not understand what a church really means,” she said.

“We will not condemn him but pray that he acknowledges his wrongs and repent. A house of God is to be respected and failure to can be detrimental,” she added.

The church’s deacon Kariuki Kang’ethe said they had to perform a cleansing ceremony before the Sunday service could take place.

“The man must be of sane mind but we do not know why he decided to get into our church or what he may have been doing in it so we could not use the church before praying and cleansing it,” Kang’athe said.

Sad Woman Narrates Heartbreaking Story Of Watching Her Mum Burn Alive

If you have never gone through any challenges in life, always thank God. Do not take life for granted. There are millions of people in this world battling with various diseases, poverty, some are being tormented by evil spirits and even others left orphaned and widowed with no one to run to for help.

Always praise and thank your maker for the good life you have.

One womans story of being sexually assaulted multiple times, resulting in three children at the tender age of 15, and  watching as her own mother was burnt to death, plus the trauma of being forced into prostitution in Norway, will make you cry.

Suicidal thoughts a constant, poisonous companion, read the heartbreaking story of Lucy Atim Hansen originally from Uganda who recently gave a testimony about her past life difficulties at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), founded by prophet TB Joshua.

“What brought me to SCOAN was suicidal thoughts and different sorts of pain.

This started when I was a little girl. I was about 2 and a half years old. We were 4 in total in my family including my parents. I remember one evening, my mother came back from work and found my dad reading the newspaper while i and my younger sister and I were playing. She went straight to the kitchen. Weed Church Set To Start “Services”

Do not be shocked, well you can because there is now a cannabis church that preaches all things weed.

The church was founded by Bill Levin on March 26 and it already has around 700 members, it is based in Indiana.

Members of the congregation, called “Cannabiterians,” say they smoke marijuana to connect more closely with themselves and others.

One pays a membership fee of  $50 (sh. 4,500 ) for a 12-months and sell “Holy Rollers” rolling paper to raise money for the church.

The church has weed instead of wine and a “pooh-bah” in place of a pastor, who preaches the power of weed to heal the world.

Bill told Yahoo News: “We don’t want to poison people. We want to see them healthy. And cannabis is the healthiest plant on Earth.

Worshippers believe in the “Deity Dozen” – a list of 12 tenets for living a good life – which is the cannabis congregation’s equivalent of the Ten Commandments:

1. Don’t be an a***hole. Treat everyone with love, as an equal.

2. The day starts with your smile every morning. When you get up, wear it first.

3. Help others when you can. Not for money, but because it’s needed.

4. Treat your body as a temple. Do not poison it with poor quality foods and sodas.

5. Do not take advantage of people. Do not intentionally hurt anything.

6. Never start a fight, only finish them.

7. Grow food, raise animals, get nature into your daily routine.

8. Do not be a “troll” on the Internet; respect others without name-calling and being vulgarly aggressive.

9. Spend at least 10 minutes a day just contemplating life in a quiet space.

10. When you see a bully, stop them by any means possible. Protect those who cannot protect themselves.

11. Laugh often, share humor. Have fun in life, be positive.

12. Cannabis, “the Healing Plant,” is our sacrament. It brings us closer to ourselves and others. It is our fountain of health, our love, curing us from illness and depression. We embrace it with our whole heart and spirit, individually and as a group.

Their first service is set for July 1 but the location has not yet been announced. The congregation will recite the Deity Dozen before smoking cannabis together.

Kilifi church group does stunts in ‘exorcism’ attempt

A group of “servants of God” on Thursday somersaulted over an illness-ravaged family in Kilifi county in a bid to kick out alleged demons.
The Wahudumu group from Kenya Revival Church were summoned by a family of 14, mostly girls, in Bondeni village, Malindi town.

“I have had problems with my sight for three years, went to hospital in vain at least am feeling better after this service,” family head Francis Katana told journalists.

His wife Priscah said the home has been plagued by diseases and poverty after an unsuccessful job-hunt in Lamu by Francis. “When he came back, I thought it better to invite the servants of God to conduct prayers to cleanse the family,” she said.

The group tied the legs of the family members, allegedly to prevent the demons’ powers from confronting the healer. They smeared coconut oil on the family and poured buckets of water on them, before doing somersaults over their bodies.

“Get out, you devil. You have no powers in front of God,” the female head of the healers said. Some neighbours said they had never seen such prayers while others said they would help cleanse the family. The head of the servants of God refused to talk to journalists.

Machakos church shut down over nude worship

Following public complaints on Wednesday from residents in Masinga, Machakos County a church has been closed indefinitely after reports that the worshippers undress during prayers.

According to the Star Newspaper, the deputy county commissioner Muraya Mwangi said that there had been complaints that the church goers especially the women undress in church before being prayed for.

The church only allows women to attend the Healing Ministries Church Services and they are not bound by a specific time.

Ekalakala chief together with several residents raided the church and found naked women. It was also revealed that the pastor runs the church illegally.

The town’s business community chairman Duncan Mutua revealed to The Star that women spend a lot of their time at the church and even attend night worship.

“We recently stormed the church and caught the pastor pouring water on a naked woman in the name of praying for her,” Mutua said.

The church pastor Joseph Wambua denied the allegations saying that his church is genuine. He says the accusations levelled against him are false and have been caused by chiefs who have been demanding bribes from him.

Yoga could lead Christians to ‘Satan’

A Catholic priest in Northern Ireland has warned that those who enjoy yoga and Indian head massages are taking risks with their “spiritual health” – opening themselves up to “Satan and The Fallen Angels”.

The techniques have been used by Hindus to find spiritual peace for more than one-and-a-half millennium. Father Roland Colhoun, from Glendermott parish in Derry, however fears it could lead Christians to “The Kingdom of Darkness”.

In an interview with the Derry Journal, he said that, while people may decide to take up yoga with good intentions, they could set themselves on a path towards “the bad spiritual domain” and even “Satan and The Fallen Angels”.

He told the Journal: “Pope Francis said ‘do not seek spiritual answers in yoga classes’. Yoga is certainly a risk. There’s the spiritual health risk.

“When you take up those practices from other cultures, which are outside our Christian domain, you don’t know what you are opening yourself to.

“The bad spirit can be communicated in a variety of ways. I’m not saying everyone gets it, or that it happens every time, and people may well be doing yoga harmlessly. But there‘s always a risk and that’s why the Pope mentioned it and that’s why we talk about that in terms of the danger of the new age movement and the danger of the occult today. That’s the fear.”

Rev. Kathy Kiuna breaks silence over alleged controversial remarks

The Jubilee Christian Church has broken its silence over remarks allegedly made by Rev Kathy Kiuna.

Kiuna allegedly told women from Nairobi’s Eastlands to go and rent bed-sitters and servant’s quarters in posh estates to attract rich men.

It is also alleged that she lashed out at men from Eastlands, saying they are lazy. The remarks elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media.

But speaking yesterday during a church service at Parklands, Kiuna said the church she co-owns with her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, is for both the rich and the poor.

She jetted back from the US on Saturday night. Kiuna said the remarks attributed to her are the works of the devil.

“Please do not bother listening to them as they are devil’s work coming at a time when the church is in its finest hour,” she told a packed congregation.

She urged the congregation to continue paying tithes as they have transformed the lives of many deserving people.

Earlier, one of the members of the congregation gave testimony that the church has helped him out of poverty.

“People have said whatever they have said, but they do not know what they say. They are doing so at the finest hour that cannot distract us. Some of us will be billionaires. Some are about to open ministries never seen before,” Kiuna said.

Her husband, who gave the sermon, said the church is not about him and his wife, but the congregation.

He said whatever begins small has the ability to explode.

“Get off that nonsense. Do not read them. Neither be friends with them nor follow them. No weapon formed against us shall prosper,” the bishop said.

Kiuna said the intention of the church is to move along with the poor and better their lives.

Faithful scrub street ahead of Owuor crusade in Nakuru

Nakuru residents Tuesday were treated to a spectacle as followers of Prophet David Owuor made preparations for his crusade in Kaptembwa Grounds.

Hundreds of followers swept and washed with soap some roads in the Nakuru Central Business District, where Owour was expected to pass on his way to the rally venue.

The New Year rally began Tuesday and runs up to January 1.

Traffic was interrupted as the followers cleaned the streets while rehearsing the songs they would sing for the prophet.

“We are doing it for the man of God. We are ready to receive him and hear the word of God. Thousands are expected to join the rally from Kenya and neighbouring countries because we believe in God, who uses him to speak to the world,” said one of the followers.

The followers have been trickling into town for three days awaiting Owour’s arrival.

Nakuru police chief Bernard Kioko said more than 400 officers have been deployed to the crusade venue.

Pastor arrested for faking miracles in Ghana

Jonas Abedi had apparently made contact with Reverend Ewurama Annan, claiming to be a pastor based in New York. Annan invited him to her church, the Founder of Power Explosion Chapel at Tantra Hills in Accra, when he claimed to be going to Ghana as part of a programme.

When he arrived he started performing miracles, healing a crippled woman who had been brought there by her sister, calling out a young man for using charms to seduce women, and revealing the phone number and personal details of another.

Annan became suspicious however, after she noticed that none of the people involved were actually members of her church. She got the elders of the church to watch the group.

The jig was up when the ‘cripple’, her sister and the two men met up at a petrol station, where a man walked up to them and gave them money. The men bolted, but were arrested along with the pastor later at their hotel.

Both women confessed that they had put up the charade at the church for money.

Mormon church founder Joseph Smith had as many as 40 wives

The founder of the Mormon church, Joseph Smith, wed as many as 40 wives, including some who were already married and one as young as 14 years old, the church acknowledged in a surprising new essay.

Smith’s marital history had been the subject of frequent historical debate, but until recently Mormon leaders had taken pains to present its founding prophet as happily married to one woman. Now, the church says, “careful estimates put the number between 30 and 40.”

The church, officially called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, disavowed plural marriage in 1890 under pressure from the U.S. government, which had imprisoned polygamists and seized their assets.

It’s hard to overestimate Smith’s importance to Mormons. He is viewed as a larger-than-life prophet who received special revelations from God. The news that he had taken so many wives, including teens and other men’s spouses, rocked some members of the faith, according to Mormon blogger Jana Riess.

Wife sets up husband for circumcision

A church service was interrupted at PCEA Uplands church in Lari Sub-county by residents after a man was dragged to the church’s clinic for circumcision.

It was alleged that, Duncan Ng’ang’a disagreed with his wife and threatened to beat her, but she ran away. Upon returning to her matrimonial home she revealed to neighbors that her husband was not circumcised.

Male residents said that when they learnt that Ng’ang’a was uncircumcised they felt ashamed to have engaged with him and vowed he must face the knife.

The residents have been searching for him since Friday. On Sunday at midday he was found by young men at Karia-ini who started screaming alerting the residents who came and undressed.

They frog marched him to the hospital, asking each and every person they met along the way to help them with some money to pay for the procedure.

Officers at the Lari police station were also forced to contribute when the residents passed by the station. One of the residents said they raised about Sh 6,530 before they arrived at the clinic.
