The one thing that never escapes the notice of Kenyans is when our leaders are involved in scandals.

Here are some female politicians whose scandals attracted national attention. They have each addressed the matters at hand, so just read about the bombshells.

1. Rachael Shebesh

The slap. In 2013, drama unfolded at City Hall Friday after then Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero allegedly slapped Women Representative Rachel Shebesh during a heated verbal exchange outside his office.
Shebesh had confronted Kidero over the ongoing county employees’ strike, which had paralysed operations, over unpaid salaries.

2. Millie Odhiambo

Moses Kuria and Millie traded accusations and counter-accusations during a Parliamentary debate on the Security Laws (Amendment) Bill 2014.

Millie further claimed that Kuria tried to undress her, in addition to punching her in the eye.

Posting on Facebook she wrote

“I was boxed in the eye by Moses Kuria, as one permanent drunk pulled down my panty and two others lifted my dress. But I am not of the ‘ayayaya you slapped’ me fame. Moses Kuria amejua why I am an elected MP from Mbita, and not appointed… when they tried to undress me I completed the process for them.”

She adds

“Today was a day and a half, but I am happy we fought against the tyranny even though we lost partially.

My security was disarmed, manhandled and thrown in the cells for a while.”

3. Mary Njambi

The MCA’s video has gone viral and now everyone is talking about mapiripiri and kirimino. Her video recently went viral as Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi was being impeached.

In the video that went viral Njambi is heard saying.

 “Ametuwekea pilipili, ngoja ataona.”

She added;

“Na si hii ni kirimino? Kwa nini ametuwekea pilipili?”

4. Cecilia Ng’etich

Just when you thought you have heard enough drama from the women we elected to represent us, another one emerged.

Former Bomet Woman Representative Cecilia Ng’etich was left licking her wounds after nude photos of her were leaked online.

The photos showed the politician cuddling with one Wazir Chacha who has on a few occassions confessed his undying love for old women.

5. Lucy Gichuhi

Australian Senator Lucy Gichuhi got into trouble after her travel records revealed that she owed taxpayers Sh216, 327 for two return airfares which she used to fly two relatives for her birthday party. She has since agreed to pay back the money and an ­additional 25 per cent penalty.
