Otile Brown responds after Babu Owino claimed he was running for Embakasi East MP (exclusive)

Babu Owino shocked many this past week after he went on the offensive against someone most didn’t anticipate. Babu had set his guns 0o a rival many thought was firmly established in the entertainment industry and not interested in the political arena.

The esteemed person Babu had set his eyes on was musician Otile Brown. Babu tore into the Chaguo la Moyo singer saying that he should stick to singing, also calling him a slay queen in the barb.

Many wondered what was going on, including me. Had Otile decided that he would be vying for political office and when had he made that announcement?

Otile Brown’s emotional message to Sanaipei arouses fans suspicion

I quickly called up Otile and spoke to his manager Noriega who is authorised to speak for the singer. The manager was at first cagey but said that if Otile had made any announcement about becoming the Embakasi East MP, it would at first be posted on his social media pages.

If it was official, it would have come from our official social media handles.

So was Babu claiming a falsehood when he said that Otile was running? Noriega reiterated that if anything was official from their end it would have come from Otile’s official social media platforms and if it wasn’t there, then it isn’t from our end.

“We don’t know what’s going on. We don’t know about it…” he finished off.

This isn’t the first time that Babu has made a controversial statement. In 2017, the politician got into a world of hurt when he allegedly abused a political leader, saying that that leader was a, “Mtoto wa Mbwa.” That comment got him arrested by police for hate speech.

Babu Owino is right in taunting Otile Brown about running for political office

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino isn’t a man who minces his words. His off the cuff manner has gotten him as many admirers as it has haters.

And while some might have thought his shooting incident back in January this year might have made him become a bit more cautious with his statements/actions, that isn’t who Babu is.

No, the person who Babu has in his cross-hairs is the singer Otile Brown. Why? The singer has expressed a desire to vie for political office in the future.

And what is getting Babu’s panties in a wad is Otile’s intention to run in Babu’s home turf of Embaskasi East, the seat he currently holds.

Babu was so incensed by the news that he called out Otile telling him that he was a joker who has cannot make it in politics and urged the Chaguo la moyo hitmaker to stick to singing.

“Can this joker stick to singing. Siasa itafanya upoteze Sauti bure na warembo wanahitaji hiyo Sauti yako nyororo. Slay queens can’t make it in the world of politics”.

‘He wants to annoy us’ Kenyans notice about Babu Owino’s bragging habit

While his diss is classic Babu and hilarious to boot, does the politician have a point? Does he have a right to discourage Otile from joining the world of politics? Yes. Why? Let me explain.

Politics is called higher office for a reason. The pressures and challenges one should experience ( and I am talking about the ideal, not the corrupt Kenyan setting) is monumental and is called serving for a reason.

 While Otile has every right as a Kenyan citizen to run for office according to our laws which requires;

-Kenyan citizen for at least 10 years before the election
-Not hold dual citizenship.
-Not owe allegiance to a foreign state
-Be a registered voter;
-Be nominated by a Political Party or is an independent candidate.
-Meet the statutory moral and ethical requirements under the Leadership and Integrity Act;
-Not be an undischarged bankrupt;
-Not be a person of unsound mind;
-Not be subject to a sentence of imprisonment of at least six months from the date of registration of candidates or date of elections.

He still has to deal with the challenge from the competition. What Babu did wasn’t illegal, it’s called de-psyching/demoralising an opponent. It might be frowned upon but Babu is within his rights.

The gauntlet has been thrown. What will Otile do? Fight or flight?

‘I was so hurt’ Mike Mondo speaks on Dj Evolve’s life after being shot

An exclusive interview on NTV with Dj Evolve on how life is for him after being shot by Babu Owino upset many Kenyans among them Classic’s Mike Mondo.

Dj Evolve left Nairobi Hospital after six months of treatment, to continue his recovery at home after the B Club shooting incident.

In the interview, Dj Evolve told Dan Mwangi that he has left it to God about forgiving Babu Owino.

‘I am just here. There’s nothing I can do for myself. I was really traumatised in the beginning, but I have learnt to live with it,” he said. I left that to God and I’m waiting for the justice system to see what I will go through’

‘He wants to annoy us’ Kenyans notice about Babu Owino’s bragging habit

This formed the basis of the conversation on Tuesday morning where Mike asked Kenyans to give their opinion on what they think would be justice for Dj Evolve.

Mike weighed in saying it broke his heart to hear the Disc Jockeys mother recalling the moment she received news that her son had been shot.

His mum revealed she left her job to take care of him, and was very emotional when asked if she has ever seen Babu Owino saying ‘atasitaki kunongea kwa sasa’.

“Due to the pain (in my heart), I cannot talk. I just talk to my God. My son’s life has been destroyed. (I hope to get) justice for my kid. Only that,” she told NTV.

Mike Mondo shared his distress on Tuesday morning saying

‘I was so hurt to hear the mothers agony. That is a very hurt mother’ He said

‘He wants to annoy us’ Kenyans notice about Babu Owino’s bragging habit

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino will not have it easy online as long as KOT have anything to do with it.

The controversial politician is known to love posting quotes about his greatness, and it’s well within his right to brag.

But ever since he was accused of shooting Dj Evolve, no one will make him forget this dirty deed. Literally every caption is accompanied by responses from Kenyans reminding him about the fate of Dj Evolve, whom he fatally shot and was hospitalized for several months at Nairobi Hospital’s ICU.

‘I stayed in an abusive relationship,’ Betty Bayo speaks about fear

The first time he ever spoke about the shooting he said ‘People should stop attacking me and insulting me, I never killed anyone, what happened between me and Dj Evolve was just two gentlemen disagreeing like grownups’.

Babu Owino continues to rattle Kenyans and perhaps he is aware that he is annoying and won’t stop?

This weekend was no different and he was online once again reminding whoever cared to read that ‘I am the future of the great Republic of Kenya’.

This statement did not sit well with KOT who bashed him with swift comments below.

Joy as Dj Evolve finally leaves hospital (videos)

Felix Orinda or as many call him Dj Evolve is finally out of Nairobi Hospital. The Dj who was allegedly shot by Babu Owino in B-Club earlier this year, has been recuperating for close to 4 months.

The DJ was released yesterday afternoon with the hospital providing him with an adjustable bed as he still can’t walk. According to a Star reporter on-site, the Dj can talk but only in a low voice due to the many operations he underwent.

The reporter also added that Babu Owino was still paying for his treatment with reports from the Dj’s father claiming that the bill had risen to Sh. 16 million as of Mid-May with Babu having paid about Sh. 5 million only.

This follows a long road to recovery for the Dj that started with his hospitalisation at Nairobi Hospital’s ICU wing.

After that, the Dj underwent two successful surgeries; In the first, a bullet that was lodged in his neck was removed, while in the second surgery, a blood clot was removed from the affected area. He was scheduled for a third surgery on January 20 but it didn’t happen and was postponed.

The Dj underwent the 3rd surgery in May that would help him heal quicker from his injuries.

Babu Owino was accused of shooting the Dj in the neck on January 16 at B Club on Galana Road, Kilimani. The case is ongoing. Check out the videos below of the Dj leaving the hospital;

He is still in hospital with Sh11 million bill, Babu only paid Sh5 million – Dad of DJ evolve

Dj Evolve was unknown by most Kenyans until he was allegedly shot by Babu Owino at the B-Club premises where he worked as the resident deejay.

Since that tragic January day, he has been at Nairobi Hospital recuperating from his wounds. While there, contradictory reports have emerged, like; the cost of his treatment, how much of it had been offset by Babu Owino and whether he was still at the hospital?

This past weekend, The-Star spoke to the entertainer’s father to get a clearer picture of what was really going on? John Orinda, dismissed reports that his son had been released from Nairobi hospital.

Not only that, Mr. Orinda also contradicted the earlier claim made by Babu Owino that he had settled his son’s hospital bill.

“He is still in hospital and as we speak, I’m in the ward with him. The bill is still too high. Babu paid only Sh5 million of the Sh16 million bill.”

Babu had also claimed that Dj Evolve hadn’t been released because of the Covid-19 pandemcic, something Mr. Orinda was having none off stating that his son’s lower body is still unresponsive.

“He has been moved to the general ward, but he can’t sit. His upper body is okay, his hands can move, he can talk, but he has a pipe in the oesophagus to pass out mucus. So he can’t talk when it’s inside. His legs are still unresponsive.”

‘She have a big heart to accommodate people…’ Babu Owino brags about his wife

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino says that his wife Fridah Ongili has a big heart that his constituent members need.

Speaking to Shaffie Weru on his Instagram live about why he married Fridah Ongili.

Babu told Shaffie that it is God who gives people good wives.

“In fact, God gave me the best wife. That is a woman without equal. A woman with the head of a man,” he said

Bragging, Babu listed the qualities of Fridah that will make men turn green with envy.

“She is gorgeous. She is beautiful. She is brainy. She went to a national school in Loreto, did Economics, scored a second class Upper-division.”

Adding,

“Our future is meant to be together. She is not a politician per se but because her husband is in politics and that is what puts food on our table, then she should be part of it.
Babu continued,

“Secondly, people of Embakasi East also need a first lady and she has a bigger heart than earth or almost the size of the earth to accommodate people of Embakasi East and also Kenyans.”

Asked if in future she ma decide to venture into politics, Babu Owino told Shaffie that his wife is business-oriented.

“She has a vision. I don’t want to force her into what I want to achieve in life. I want her to live her own life. I also want her to achieve what God created her to achieve in life.”

He added,

“I don’t want to put it that she must be a politician. If she wants to join politics, well and good. She has the best teacher.”

DJ Evolve is a personal friend and no one can come in between us – Babu Owino

Babu Owino was interviewed yesterday by popular comedian Felix Odiwour. The two had a frank conversation about the politician’s biggest scandal this year – his alleged shooting of Felix Orinda (Dj Evolve) that took place earlier this year.

The Embakasi East MP had promised to settle the Dj’s bills at Nairobi Hospital, something that attracted a lot of publicity as to whether Babu would hold up his end of the bargain.

He went on to warn individuals judging him that he won’t shy from facing them.

Felix Orinda aka DJ Evolve is still in a critical condition. The disc jockey who was shot in the neck by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on 17 January at B Club, is fighting for his life at Nairobi Hospital’s ICU.

The family is worried about their son’s health and are struggling to pay the bill despite the court having ordered the controversial politician to pay Ksh10m million to cater for DJ Evolve’s treatment.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi ordered Babu Owino to pay the cash in installments of Ksh2.5 million per month until the disc jockey recovers fully.

According to the family, the only bill the lawmaker paid was Sh600,000 he paid before he was arrested but since his release, he has failed to clear any bills.

His medical bill has shot to Ksh7.5 and his family is having sleepless nights and can’t raise it.
